Hello
i was wondering why performance on P6 not like samsung S3 as S3 much better than P6 on games performance
and our device with higher hardware spec
please your advice
The CPU is not compatible with the most games. The CPU of the s3 is a Qualcomm Snapdragon and of the P6 a HiSilicon

its very bad point , is there any solution for this issue like differences firmwares or KK or custom roms or some tweaks ??
Any idea to improve games performance ??

Never tried this, but people said that its good and improved performance:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2580436
And what RabbidZ said was pretty much the issue. Most apps are not optimized for the HiSillicon architecture, but rather the Qualcomm architecture, making Qualcomm ARM CPUs perform better overall. In other words, the apps don't use the full potential for the HiSillicon CPU, but there is nothing that we can really do.

it's really disappointed me as i tried Huawei G610 with lower hardware performance and it was very fast on every game i tried
like assassin screed it was very smooth and fast even more faster than from Samsung galaxy S3 ,
i hope that huawei improve their CPU soon enough
, i really appreciate your help and i will try this solution ,i hope to get some improvement as much as i hope
yeah its true, not all games works perfectly in P6. thats really disappointing. i have an ascend mate that has only 1gb ram and its perfect for gaming

its very strange as ascend mate has the same cpu in the P6 , !!!
but maybe it isnt overheating so fast so the cpu/gpu doest underclock itsefl ....thats the main reason why p6 has such low performance ater few minutes of gaming...

i hope this problems get solved by KK or at least with stable custom roms,
i will try Init.d today and i will post my feedback about games performance
Update :
finally i installed it on B132 and it worked fine ,, really there is big difference and very good improvement ,,
Do you think is the B132 better in game performance?

is ther's way to make p6 perform better? cuz heavy games lags.. i think it's not suppose to be like that, as its spec's is pretty good. thanx :good:

The device isn't optimized for ANY game really.
It uses a Chip made by Huawei and a 16 core GPU. - These things are meant to perform well, but Huawei them selves didn't do the Kernel / OS very great, and to top that game developers don't support these chips.
If we could get a custom Kernel running, and maybe CM, this thing will perform much better.
So for now, just keep waiting.
Hello..
I'm new to here, I would like to post one of my bad experience about huawei ascend p6 phone and how i have solved that.. Hope this would be helpful for you all..
first of all i like to say that this is the the best looking phone i ever had. And performance also best, But one of terrible problem that i have noticed is over heating when play games or long time video recording/playback. Finally I found a solution for that. Firmware update.. Previously I have updated my Huawei Ascend p6 firmware to B112 version. But the problem was still there. Finally I have updated It to latest International firmware B125.. woooooow It works... now my phones stuck problem and over heating problem were solved... try it yourself... and post here your experience...
Keep on dreaming, I am on B125 and it's heating, so you better slow down

nope. now it is heating when only charging... there is a small heat when playing video long time. I think its normal as other smart phones..
This is not a "problem solved"
Indeed... never mind on what ROM or FW yr running. My phone keeps getting comf. warm using long periods of gaming or heavy CPU usage. Think abt it... phone is very small, no real good solution to get the heat away.
True that.

Well, a lot of people are thinking about this wrong.
For Huawei to achieve the super thin build, they had to make some tweaks. Other Manufacturers didn't bother going much thinner than 8mm since then they can't have a big battery AND their processors will overheat.
What Huawei did, was very obvious. They made the back-plate a heat sink, they made it super thin and out of heat-conductive material.
So, it is impractical, and yes performace does drop when it heats up, just like any other CPU. But it DOES make sense. One of the prices to pay for this amazing looking phone.
I guess since I only use my phone to social, for camera and eye candy, it doesn't bother me too much.

Indeed, well same outcome anyway. Like I said, not way to get the heat out... by making the phone act as heatsink ofcourse it's bound to get hot.
Well with temp outside close to freezing, don't mind to have a little pocket heater at hand :silly:
Same here,I'm not a gamer.
Before P6 i had Xperia S/SP/Z. all this devices will be similarly hot on heavy use and all have bugs in Batterymanagment. I found the P6 is the best compromise. Is not so lag as XS, is not so weighty as SP and not so unwieldy as Z.
After one weak on old B104 i can say Huawei have do a good job. Nice Ui, very good Display, charge Quick, Batterymanagment is perfect, no problems with WiFi, GPS or 3G. I`m very happy.
What should in fact be in B104 for bugs? Everything is ok so far. I do not trust myself to perform an update. Not that after Update anything no longer works so well.

B125 is recommended. Vast performance improvements and many bug fixes compared to the B104.
Ok,
now i`m on B125 and will see. I have found the stock B104 so i can back.
I will share my experince with p6
My last phone was Huawei P1 and it was running android 4.0.3 and its the best high performace device from huawei i think
So i decided to by the p6 i thinked it will be better it was running b610 , i download b125 then kitkat 4.4.2
I think while comparing the performance of games then the p1 is better device
Also in heating the p1 have no heating comparing with p6
P6 is not a gameing device
I didnot try to use the device on b125 , can this be better ?
I also need to know if i can activate the (vibrate on connecting call) this option was on the p1 by default and i like it because when i make a call while walking or driving i press call and wait for the vibrate to put the phone on my ear
Sorry i forget
The p1 super amoled screen giving more true colors and high senstivity in touch screen
Will the p1 screen is better than p6 lcd screen

Hi,
I have found that Honor 7X heats a lot during gaming or other tasks using high CPU and GPU use. As a result, it throttles and performance decreases.
So, I decided to do a CPU throttling test using this app
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=skynet.cputhrottlingtest
I have the attached the result below. As you can see it is throttling a lot.
Can you guys download the app, do the throttle test and upload the results here?
PS: I did the test for 10 min and 20 threads setting.
I'm no expert in this area, but don't ** all ** phones overheat and throttle? Depending on usage?
The question is, to what extent are they being throttled? Which ones are the worse? And, did the oem design / manufacture the device in such a way that it doesn't result in damage (cracked solder == boot loop) if used in such a way often enough.
Do we have results from testing other phones doing the same things? Then we could compare, otherwise, only time will tell if the design holds up as it should.

Yes, all phones do throttle eventually, but my phone throttled to 78% performance in only 10 min. Also, I found that my phone was heating too much while gaming (SoC temperature would go above 65°C) . I wanted to see if others' Honor 7X was heating and throttling this much or is it only my device?
This is what I get on my device, your device may be suffering from bad thermal dissipation (if that's even the term for it), or, more likely, you live in an area with high temps

Thank you for testing it. It looks like your device throttles less than mine. Also the temperatures are lower. I think only my device has a fault in thermal performance.
I should have my phone on Monday and I'll run a test early next week for ya if still interested.
Men. Kirin processor are not best for gaming compare to Snapdragon because of there GPU problem. They will not perform well specially in gaming. It's universal fact.

Yes. You're right. Even the Snapdragon 450 has much better than GPU than Kirin 659.
Alrighty, here are the results from my Mate SE and I also had a Moto G5+ (Snap 625) to run against as a comparison. Looks like the first one is the Moto.
Thoughts?

I don't think the processors \ GPU are much different. I think if we do feel a difference it's because of the overlay of EMUI. It has been well documented how much better stock Android runs in comparison to an overlay. Even super powerful Samsung devices have lag and jank because of the skin.

The Snapdragon 625 throttles slightly lesser when compared to Kirin 659. This is because SD 625 is made on a 14nm Fab Process while 659 is made on 16nm. Also the Adreno 506 GPU in 625 is much more efficient (Also more powerful).

I agree that the processors are similar but the GPUs are very different. Adreno 506 is much more powerful and efficient than Mali T830 MP2. Also, the UI shouldn't have much effect on the throttling tests.
I've compiled Resurrection Remix with over clocked CPU (@2.2ghz) and GPU (@800mhz) and it's not that much of an improvement. I'd say PUBG runs little better now and some improvement in benchmarks. Well, I wasn't expecting miracles either but let me know if anyone wants an over clocked ROM or kernel. I am trying to add exfat support (I'd be happy if any devs can help me with that) as many user wants but I'm getting nowhere for now.
I can even take it to next level with CPU @2.4ghz and GPU @850mhz but I think that would be overkill.

I think it's little less than the stock ROM but now it depletes faster while gaming (as gaming pushes all cores to max).

Nice. That kernel would be great to VR
Well , good idea is to make only OC kernel and then setup it via kerenel audiutor eg. -- OC @ gpu would be nice because it is weakest part of MZP . I've just made benchmark on stock oreo antutu 7.1.3 = 75716 pts. while on latest Cosmos 3.2 rom result was 81703 pts.

Under volting is not a good idea, it creates a lot of issues. To increase battery life use smart pixels, build prop tweaks and also amplify and greenify. However for screen on time, lowering resolution and smart pixels are best options.

Yeah, nice idea
I think stock runs on 8.0 while Cosmos on 8.1 so that might've improved it somewhat,
I wish if there was some tweak to OC GPU of normal ROM.

I think a kernel with overclocking possibilities would be nice. In fact, what I would really love was to see a port of Elemental X or Blu Spark kernels.
Tomorow I am going to sell my Asus Rog5, so now I want to buy RM6 Pro ...So question is simple are you happy with you phone?
And pros and cons pls
Hello, I know am late on this but do not sell your ROG.. RM6 have lots of software issues. the most am suffering with is they limit it from using full performance! I can't see it using 840mhz on GPU for genshin or ANY game! my friend have ROG 5 and I can see his GPU on SD888 can use full performance. Nubia's software is really not good! I regret buying it.

While I agree with RM6's software issues, I'm not so sure about your statements on their GPU performance. I own a standard ROG Phone 5 and I can confirm that GPU speed runs at max speed for the first 5 minutes of playing Genshin, but quickly slows down as the device heats up. This is even with AeroActive Cooler 5 mounted and set to max fan speed. So it's important to also determine and compare sustained GPU performance, which I believe RM6 wins here.
Phone build is good. Spec and features are good but very lacking in the software department. Bugs and errors in lots of parts of the phone. Physically feels good but software feels bad. Runs games well

I never.. like never seen the GPU runs at 840mhz, only in antutu. for genshin I see it goes up to 600mhz something when I run the game while the phone is cool, then it drops right away to 540mhz. and keeps like that or lower. and no matter how much I cool it, it never goes above that. I used their new cooler.. and I put the device in front of AC that it got so cold. yet still never gone above 540mhz.. even the CPU stuck at 2.4.. how is this not an issue? I just want to use the full performance. I had RM5 G and I used the rom they provided here to boost the GPU to 940mhz, it was doing better than this one.. I'll never buy a phone from Nubia ever again. next time I'll just get the ROG.

My GPU reaching at max frequency probably happened while I was sitting in the start screen or looking straight at the wall but now that I think about it it didn't really maintain for 5 minutes. The Adreno 660 is very power hungry and runs hot this time around for internal and external cooling to matter (hence RM6 has the edge). You can certainly use custom kernel to boost the GPU even higher but I'd worry about phones with limited cooling. Also I've yet to find ROG 5 custom kernel that boosts GPU frequency.
But really the SoC should improve on efficiency aspect as the ROG 3 did really well in peak and sustained performance. There's hope and excitement for the upcoming AMD GPU on mobile but I'm not sure if other vendors will adopt it besides Samsung.
