The device isn't optimized for ANY game really.
It uses a Chip made by Huawei and a 16 core GPU. - These things are meant to perform well, but Huawei them selves didn't do the Kernel / OS very great, and to top that game developers don't support these chips.
If we could get a custom Kernel running, and maybe CM, this thing will perform much better.
So for now, just keep waiting.

[Q] GTA III - running really slowly

I've just installed the amaaazing GTA III ten-year anniversary edition on my Wildfire S. Everything loads, and I managed to find a decent HVGA version of the game data files.
Anyway, it's quite slow running at 600mhz on an unrooted stock rom. Anyway to speed it up a little? Is it because of RAM or CPU or what?
S-ON btw.
Dont think it will run it. All approved devices are dual core with pretty good graphics

Hmm, but I seem to be running it perfectly in terms of graphics. Sound, video everything works and is playable.
It just lags a lot when trying to move around. Like playing in slow motion.
Most likely would work on alquez's kernal.

Well, look at the bright side. You can predict enemy moves and shoot 'em easily.
I wouldn't know unless I installed it. Could just be processing power.
Hahaha, yeah would need some more processing power I guess.
Link to the game and files? Would like to try on CM7. 2 @ 800mhz
Edit: found the game.

No chance of running this on wildfire s guys, this game needs a lot of power.
Tried on my cm7.2.1 overclocked to 806mhz runs like crap, don't waste your time with the 500mb+ data download you'll just be disappointed.
Oh and your phone will heat up like the core of the sun.
The game is on the market, and a few other places but yes doesn't run well at all.
what's the size of apk you installed....
http://www.mediafire.com/?xk8bdqrrrd7yk76
Try this one, this is the ripped version of data pack from Andropalace.com
You can't use the files that the game downloads itself. Find the seperately ported HVGA files.
It does run nicely, it's just slow people.
on my WFS long time ago (1 week) when i was S-ON it run smoothly, people never lag... now, i have rooted WFS with CM7.2 @ 806MHz and it have 2FPS... hate beta CM7..
As much as i have used it....it runs fine on the stock rom without sound, but it lagged like hell on CM7(YES!!WITHOUT SOUND FILES!!)

I hope that alquez add hardware acceleration in next stable release
I had installed it, and on CM7.2 with 806MHz it still runs very slow. There's probably no chance of it running well on this phone, and to be honest, the controls for it will suck anyway. I have my old PS2. I might buy the original again.
I also tryed this, but it's very slow, i just waste my time. :S

Tegra 3 performance

Hey guys,
I wonder if the so called gaming SoC will get any better in terms of gaming performance with further updates from HTC. At the moment the games run barely as good as on my SGS2. I know..the resolution of the HOX is twice as high but the games graphics ar getting better and I cant even play NOVA 3 with my 'gaming device'... There is a way to make it a bit less laggy with new Base and franco kernel but it's still far away from beeing smooth. What I want to ask you is: Is there still potential for tegra 3 to run those games smooth and it's just a matter of time till an update comes that improves the framerates or is it just hardware limited? Are there other Tegra 3 devices which can run these games without any issues? I'm hoping that the 3.* kernel will improve something but actually I have no clue.
well u have to look at this from the point of view of the game/software/hardware
the one game u mentioned is not HOX compatible,
it's been force run on the device.... so as far as this go..... you'll need to wait for the game to be T3 optimized
software optimizations are still underway from both xda devs and htc.... and as u see they are getting better by the day
and finally not much to say about the hardware but... its more than capable just give it time.

Game performace

I see a lot of comments about how good p6 is.
No doubt its a good looking phone. well built.
Software performace is also good if u get latest update. Quick, smooth.
Sound quality is top notch.
On B118 cn performance is even better have i heard (i haven t try B118 ROM yet)
But i m a little disappointed with game performance. I m on B125, custom ROM.
I played FIFA14 and NFS on p6 and after only few minutes of playtime the phone is getting laggy.
So is this phone that good ?

so I understand that the P6 isn't made for heavy gaming (at least for now), and find it pretty normal seen the reduced thickness. I mean, you can't have everything, right?
but what about lighter games like ruzzle, or candy crush, angry birds or similar? can it run them smoothly?

The gaming problem is actually random/inconsistent and not specific to heavy games. There are heavy games that work very well on p6, but on other hand there are those that don't. So its a luck. Part of the problem i think is the heat the processor makes that then automatically powers down to reduce heat, while other problem is that the GPU is not widely used and hence the game developers didn't optimize games for this. This optimization problem can happen even if you had the top range phone. On the firmware development side, we have seen the latest b118cn was said to have better game performance, so we will be seeing such gradual improved performance to some extent.
On the whole though, if someone plays heavy games whole day on their device, then P6 is not the phone for them, not just with processor, but also the battery. They should wait for p6s that has fixed the heat problem and used a game optimized gpu.

i guess it all comes down to your preferences or the reason why you have this phone.
I bought my p6 because of its design, cheap price. I mainly use this for browsing and emails. Therefore Im really satisfied with what I got.
I agree that game performance of P6 is not good. But still I am not disapointed at all.

Hahaha! calm down mate.
There is no need to be upset.
It s not ur fault if p6 doesn t perform on some games.
p6 is not obviously the ultimate game device. Anyway its a nice well built phone.
But i think this phone has yet room for improvement.
well 1,5 quad core with 2 RAM should be good enough for some heavy games.

Maybe the right word should be NOT OPTIMIZED for SOME games. Just like what other people is saying. Some experience lags, some dont. On your case, you are lucky for having a high rate of games working Perfectly. On my case, its not. I had experience lags playing hungry shark and Deer Hunter. Just like what you said, its your experience, its different from mine.
and again, overall, this is a really solid phone.

i was wondering why performance on P6 not like samsung S3 as S3 much better than P6 on games performance
and our device with higher hardware spec
please your advice

The CPU is not compatible with the most games. The CPU of the s3 is a Qualcomm Snapdragon and of the P6 a HiSilicon

Never tried this, but people said that its good and improved performance:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2580436
And what RabbidZ said was pretty much the issue. Most apps are not optimized for the HiSillicon architecture, but rather the Qualcomm architecture, making Qualcomm ARM CPUs perform better overall. In other words, the apps don't use the full potential for the HiSillicon CPU, but there is nothing that we can really do.

G4 unusable for gaming? Extremely low FPS with MM

Guys I need help with my G4, situation with gaming is kinda unbelievable... I'm running android 6.0, and most games can't hit over 20fps mark, practically gaming it's more of frustration than fun
Examples:
Dragons rise of berk - 15-16 fps
Real Racing 3 - 20-21 fps
Jurasic World - 18-19fps
FF lagacy - 25-26fps
And things gets more interesting, I have also G2 that makes on average 30% better fps on the same games. Did an Antutu test, G4 is way better than the same G2, huge difference in 3d test.
Checked the net for the issue and found on this site folks that have it but hadn't have in with the Lollipop before that. Please give me some pointers for a future actions, is it wise to try go back to 5.1 or maybe wait for the next update? Or anything at all, I'm open to all ideas as long as they don't cost me my warranty (these LGs are not the most durable devices out there...).
Thanks!
I swear its d3vice to d3vice. I use ps1 and other emulators all the time ive never really watched the frame rates but never noticed lag. I got a gear vr ive been doin a bunch of games on it and it runs killer.
But im on lolipop heavly debloated bare core system.
Stock rom is riddled with throttling while gaming, I did notice games like hearthstone and minecraft getting unplayable after 20 minutes or so, fix is the way of going custom kernel and disabling stock thermal settings, soc on our phone doesn't heat up as much as 810 anyways (also 1440p much more demanding than 1080p take that in to consideration as well)
Of course i tested the heating issue, when the phone is cold is just a bit better, but the same thing basically. For example it would be 1fps difference cold-hot. Also interestingly on Antutu my device scores more than the same G4 with the same soft. Just watching the 3d garden part the phone G4 kills G2, many times smother, but when you try real game is the other way around.
In the other threads people that can't play also score normal on benchmarks.
My phone came with 6.0 stock, so can anyone made the upgrade from Lollipop share their experience? Also if anyone with MM can actually play some on the games I mentioned above as an example?

wich kernel you use on G2? i wish there was a dorimanx for G4..
3.10.84 and the soft is V20d-EUR-XX. I'm definitely not a gamer, but can't accept having a G4 that performs like a 80$ lenovo neither... Honestly I was thinking of switching to Samsung, but 20min of reading and I was left with the feeling that this action would just gain me changing one problem with another ones. At lest here I have only that FPS issue...and besides it I like the phone and would strongly prefer not to switch with another brand.
The most irritating thing is that the phone has no signs of hardware problems. On the Gamebench site there's plenty of test done with the stock 5.1 rom - https://www.gamebench.net/en/node/117
As you can see the same games do on average 30fps, witch is as it should be.
Just found a thread discussing the same issue on Galaxy S6....thats it with the brand switching idea...
I don't believe I'll ever have a phone that has everything working in order...

The g3 was a good one
G2 was even better considering the time it first came up, it was also faster than G3. Anyways G4 is better than both, i'm pretty sure this is just a software issue.

Is a hardware problem possible if the phone runs all benchmark and stress tests perfectly?

Like i said i play ps1 and loads of games on mine. never notice any lag. I just modded my gear vr to work on my g4 and all the vr apps and games run surprisingly very well. Ive never been one to do benchmarks. Look and feel is more important than numbers to me. Ive seen phones get low benchmarks and game really well.
Im on lolipop by the way
Tested another thing, picked 2 games from the gamebench site that have been tested on g4... So Modern Combat 5 - 29fps Boom Beach - 58fps, both run super fluid. And the scores are exactly like in their test.
Having said that Real Racing continues to be a lot worse but they do 32fps on average. How is this possible? Look like the problem is concentrated on some games, not logical to me? How would it be possible every device to chose individually what games it likes??

When I play 3d scenes in Antutu they are 1080p, and G4 plays them a LOT smother than G2. So I guess that might solve the problem, 2k is absolutely unnecessary for gaming purposes on this small screen.
Also I'm not sure that the acctual intensity of the game is the main reason, thing looks more like game to game or optimizing issues.
