Using a Cyanogen device with Android SDK (specifically device manager) - Defy General

I'd like to us my Motorola Defy+ that is running CM 11.0 as a test device for an application that I am developing using Android Development Tools (ADT). Currently I get "????????????" for Serial number, "N/A" for AVD Name, and "Unknown" for the target. My non-Cyanogen devices are all detected correctly and show device specific values for these fields.
Has anyone else encountered and solved this problem? TIA.

Script to write (not change) IMEI to a file on an M2000

I am currently working through moving a set of M1000s and M2000s from a pilot stage project to production within my organisation.
Part of the process requires us to use our existing asset management software (using typical Pocket PC config settings) to get information on the device. This works for a lot of the settings but does not include details on the device IMEI. This I guess because the asset management software was designed for plain vanilla Pocket PC devices and not GSM-enabled Pocket PCs such as the M2000.
Does anyone know of a script that when run from the device will store the IMEI number in a text file on the device that can then be interrogated by the asset management software remotely?
Any contributions gratefully received.
Sean
You could write a custom app in EVC I guess to gather and output the info to a file.
Don't know of any scripts though.

Thanks for the reply.
With a quick search on EVC I came across this post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=13455&highlight=evc
I never managed to compile the embedded c++ code to get the IMEI number.
I don't suppose anyone has a compiled script or application that can gather the IMEI number and write to a file?
TIA,
Sean

What to do if I want to....

I have purchased an unkown brand of PDA phone which is manufactured in China/Taiwan where Windows Mobile 5.0 is installed. However, the machine seens very unstable because the system somehow will stop running when soft-reset or while using it. Is there any program I can use to check the ROM information/version of my device so I can upgrade it for a more apporpriate ROM/OS. Thanks!
Start -> Settings -> System -> Device Information (Under `Identidy`) may give you a clue. A photograph of your hardware may also help.
It says Microsoft Windows Mobile Version
OS 5.1.1700 (Build 14343.0.0.0)
ARM920T S3C2440A
Below is the photo of the machine, however the words are in Simplified Chinese.

As the phone singal is very weak and the machine is very unstable. Just wonder if I can find a better Radio Rom or OS to replace the exiting one.
I'm 99% sure it's a samsung, there was another thread with an similar or same (i don't remember) phone and query somewhere in this forum. i thought it was an abandoned concept, (remember the slider phones in the last two matrix films)
This phone looks like Samsung, and actually this model from Samsung has been for sold on market in China last year on CDMA network called SCH-M509 (China, with CDMA SIM card slot) or SCH-S250(Korea, without CDMA SIM card slot). Check the link below and you see Samsung is not running Windows operating system. (In Simplified Chinese wordings)
http://cgi.ebay.com.cn/ws/eBayISAPI...QsascsZ1QQsaslcZ0QQsbrftogZ1QQsofocusZunknown
You can see the phone I posted earlier looks the same as original Samsung. I'm sure that the Samsung phone is not running Windows Mobile but the one I purchased is on Windows Mobile 5.0, therefore, I really want to see if I can flash the ROM for better performance (or at least more stable and reliable).
Anyone able to help? If I want to flash the ROM, what information I need to know? ROM version? Machine model e.g. Magician, Wizard..etc? Any program I can check the ROM information? Thanks!
roms are unique to each device - the hardware is different, the touchscreen button combos are endless, so the rom needs to be different.
as it's not made by htc, you will not likely find anyone with a rom for it on this forum.
i think you have two choices,
1 check the other phone forums - howard, pdamobiz etc.
2 cook your own rom - there are guides scattered around this forum, i don't know if the process is the same for all, but if you check guides for more than one you'll get the idea

[Q] Manually Compile Gingerbread 2.3.4 for HTC Dream (G1) on Ubuntu

Hi,
I recently setup an Android build enviornment on my Ubuntu Machine using the following instructions on the android website (source.android.com/source/initializing.html). Using this, I am able to make my own .img images for Gingerbread 2.3.4 for many of the supported phones.
Yesturday, I built 2.3.4 for my Nexus One (Passion) and it works well. However, I need to build Gingerbread 2.3.4 for an HTC Dream (G1). Since HTC Dream is not supported (is not in the /devices/ folder), I found a device configuration for the dream and sapphire on github (github.com/CyanogenMod/android_device_htc_dream_sapphire) and cloned it into the /devices/ folder.
I am able to run the ./extract-files.sh fine using this clone but when I try to select it on the lunch menu to make it, I get errors. I was wondering what I should do and how I should go about building 2.3.4 for the HTC Dream? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Note: It won't let me post URLs because I am a new member so add the http prefix to the urls above.

General Mustaavalkosta CM11 thread

Hello, I know I'm starting a new thread but as the ROM is new and there are/will be many versions, I reckon we'd be better off consolidating all the issues with this ROM into one thread rather than starting new ones.
I've just installed 2014-01-27 nightly after a full wipe on an S-OFF DHD. I have these problems:
Google experience app starts with "Welcome!" but with the "e!" on a separate line [very minor]
Can't seem to remove apps from home screens as the red X never appears when I touch&hold&drag an app!
No GPS - I have baseband 12.69a.60.29U_26.17.14.11_M
Hi,
I just flashed cm-11-20140201-UNOFFICIAL-ace.zip because I want to use my old Desire HD as a phone for development and my PC is too slow for the emulator. I succesfully installed the rom and it looks great. I've turned on developer mode and USB debugging but DDMS shows the device name as ???????? and the version as unknown. Because it can't determine the version it won't run any apps.
Can anyone help?
Thanks
Paul
Got it working. It was a combination of needing a udev rule for the USB device and getting the authorize popup to appear on the phone. I found how to do this elsewhere on the forums and stack overflow.

What can I do with Android Q Source code?

Hello,
I was looking on the lge site and on the opensource page: [h]ttps://opensource.lge.com/osSch/list?types=NAME&search=lmg820um[/url] there is source code for specific models of LG phones. I linked the search for my Sprint model the LMG820UM. I found Android Q source code for it and I was wondering what can I do with it since it is a .tar.gz file.
Any help appreciated, thanks!
Most probably you need a computer running some flavour of Linux. Neither your Windows nor your Android device will be of any use here.

Sure, that makes sense. I will be installing it after work today and checking out what it does. I will post on here once I learn some more on it.
