I went through the directions posted in this section recently and had some issues with the install process... I ended up doing a search and found a thread where Paul (Modaco ROM creator/dev) ended up building the process into a simple APK!
Thread: http://android.modaco.com/content/software/339390/r1-12-may-google-video-talk-installer/

Big thanks to Paul for coming through again!

3º with file explorer, cut the file /sdcard/Android/Data/com.brainwashstudio.talkinstaller/files/backup.zip
and save other directory.
4º download gtalk1.3b.nowifi.ffc-signed.zip decompress a create backup.zip with this files:
GoogleServicesFramework.apk
Talk.apk
5º put the new backup.zip with gtalk w video in the same directory of original:
/sdcard/Android/Data/com.brainwashstudio.talkinstaller/files/backup.zip
6º put the file libtalk_jni.so with root explorer in the directory:
/system/lib/libtalk_jni.so
7º run talk installes 1.3 and restore backup.

My opinion is that adfree doesnt work well because the hosfile it uses is originally created for windows, not for android so many ads still appear like admob etc. Im using this one, works flawlessly on my device

I think u should check your title before posting, root explorer is an app which is required for it and which is also not free in market, and adfree is a better choice as it is available for free.

Theres plenty of other filemanager with root capability and free in market. He just suggesting using root explorer, but not stated anywhere thats its nesessary to use it. Just use other instead.
btw his hostfile is also free, compared to adfree which in my opinion is pretty useless in android because it uses hostfile originally created for windows. Bunch of ads still appear if using adfree.

well then, we can just use adb to push that hostfile to our device. then again, adb is an app too. maybe we can just shove that file to our device using just our plain hands.

You need to long press the file to bring up a menu, and from there you can Open in Text Editor.

No prob - and just to be sure, the long press occurs BEFORE the file is open and you can see the text. Fwiw I have the pay version of root explorer, so maybe the free one doesn't have a text editor...? I'm really not sure.

Have you extracted the zip already? I use es file Explorer. With it go to your download folder and long press the zip and select extract. Then navigate to the install file and click on it. It should open right up. Once in the file just tap to bring up the keyboard. Once done save, move that folder to your root of sd abs enjoy the goodness.

This solves the annoying setings bug on GE 4.4.
You dont need any busybox hack etc.
It also works on new bootloader.
Solution is:
delete system\lib\hw\keystore.msm8960.so file
now it works perfect for me

Hello,
It didn't work. My phone stopped working, and I wasn't even able to reboot the device. I was getting the message 'Unfortunately, systemUI has stopped working' I had to reinstall my rom again. Relived everything's back to normal again.
It could be that my phone is the Exnoys variant?
