Hi, I'm currently expierincing problems with my Xperia Acro HD. Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, sound and even signal is not working.
I cannot activate Wi-Fi and Bluetooth (it gets stucked in "activating"). Sound doesn't work at all. And the signal shows no service.
I already tried restoring with original GB rom for this device. Even with ICS. I also tried flashing Xperia Acro S JB keeping the original Baseband from Docomo ICS. All those roms showed the same issues (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Sound and Signal problems).
I'm starting to think that it is Hardware related. But I wan to check on you guys to see if there is any solution, other than replacing the phone
Thank you in advance!

Can anyone confirm if wifi disconnection problem has been fixed with the 2.3.3 update? Thanks
Well I flashed 2.3.3 2 days after I got my Arc, and I've never faced the wifi problem, guess it is fixed?
(Do you mean the one where it disconnects while downloading large files? Mine still gets disconnected about once in 2 days)
Its the one when arc keeps dropping the wifi connection. When wifi sleep policy set to 'never' and yet it drops it almost every time the home button is pressed after the screen has gone off.
Exactly that problem I am still having with my 2.3.3 arc
Mine is better
After upgrading to 2.3.3 it did not seem to improve at all for me, still randomly drops the connection, despite the wifi icon in the status bar still showing as connected. I returned the phone to vodafone yesterday who denied any knowledge of the problem despite so many people on the net complaining about it. They've sent it back for repair now anyway, fingerscrossed they sort something out, but i'm not too optimistic to be honest.
Still have wifi problem here after 2.3.3. Hope they'll fix it's soon

Seemed my router was indeed the problem (Dlink DIR-655).
The time the router ran in was somewhere in 2004, so maybe that caused the Arc to not be connected properly. Weird that laptops and the X10 mini we have don't had any problems with it.
@Roel_1982
what did you do to your router to fix your problem?
Did you change some settings?
Or did you get a new router?

There is no wifi disconnection problem with the Arc. I can confirm this because I use my device mainly through wifi when I listen for hours to online radio stations and haven't faced a single disconnection problem.
yup, still drop out ... GB 2.3.3 hk .145 firmware, TP-Link modem router.
Change wireless router to "g" mode and works ok. It seems to have problem with "N"

I adjusted the time, to update automatic.... also gave my Arc a fixed address through DHCP.
Ever since no problems with the connection. Maybe you could see if there are firmware updates for you're router available.
Update: got the problem again 2.3.3... screen went off, came back on... wifi seems to be connected in the status bar, but it's not

it may help
Still have the same problem after 2.3.3 on Xperia Neo. =(
Try to turn off WMM in the QoS section of your router. It worked perfect for me. No more drops or disconnections. It's because of poor implementation of WMM in Xperia WLAN driver.
i just flashed the firmware using SEUS, and i dont have wifi disconnections anymore, i think its something to do with flashing the firmware via flashtool o rosmething

My Arc never had a problem with wifi and it doesn't on 2.3.3 either
Something that has worked for a few of us is switching the router to just wpa.

i read that the original xperia arc have alot of problems like the wi fi dropping connection and some camera issues.
So does the arc S have the same problems ???
I've not noticed either - had my Arc S for ~1 month

Since Arc S is being sold with Android 2.3.4 (which has major improvements to Wi-Fi) I've not noticed any general problem with connection droppings.
I'm using one myself, and no problems so far.
Arc hasn't the pronblem anymore, too since one of the latest updates.

Hello,
I have bought Xperia Arc S(running 4.0.4 now) few days ago, and ran into some wi-fi issues.
It's not the connect->disconnect->connect issue, that one is fixed thanks to one app (FXR WiFi fix and rescue), but there is another problem.
The wi-fi signal is just too weak. its like I have to be 3 m from router to get full signal, that's ridiculous.
At place where pretty much everyone other I know has decent wifi signal for me its off already.
It was same with Gingerbread, maybe with marginal difference only.
This is very big annoyance for me and limits the main purpose i bought new phone for - being able to browse net and check some things when i need to.
so, is there any way to make the signal stronger?
also, as i'm aware this is most likely hardware issue, would requesting replacement help it?
EDIT: also, it's not router issue, I've tested it on three routers
If your baseband is on .56 then update to .72 or .77 (or higher) because baseband is sometimes the issue.
Repair
Use sony update service to repair the phone.
Check if it works or update the BaseBand (72 or 77)(uncheck wipe user data) using Flash tool.
Check whether the baseband is compatible or not with your mobile before updating. (search in the forum for baseband and read the posts)
Hit "Thanks" if anyone helped you. :good:
Xperia Arc LT15i
Rooted/BootLoader Unlocked
Running JellyBean - FXP137/CM10
EDIT: ok, so turns out i have .77 already, so repairing phone is my best bet?
did the reset, i see no improvement.
it seemed to be a bar higher than usual, but then it dropped back down.
U wont see any improvement 'cause this is a problem without a solution. Arc S has a weak wifi, regardless the android or the baseband version. I'm currently on .587 firmware with .77 baseband and the problem persists. I tend to believe it's hardware related issue and I've learned to live with it, but dammit!, even my Archos tablet has excellent wifi signal..

so its general, every single arc /s has it weak like that, not just unlucky units or something? well that's sad how small amount of quality they did put into their flagship...
my wifi is also weak I have 77 baseband.
I think that it's a software problem, not an hw problem: before I upgraded to Android 4 it worked perfectly. Now it requires at least 70db of wireless signal, otherwise it continues to say "Autentication problem".
Hope next upgrade will solve it!
Try this :- Go into settings > more (or maybe it's xperia on stock rom I can't remember, but navigate to>wifi networks and change it to GSM only.
Then download a wifi scanner from PStore and run it. Follow it's instructions and it will detect the strongest channel to you.
If you are just wanting to use it at home through your router, do the scan and it will recommend the strongest signal channel for your phone, then simply change the channel setting on your phone / router to the recommendation the wifi scanner gives you.Your downloads uploads should now be better.

I think that it's a hardware problem. When i had GB, my signal was very low while on samsung y (5369 entry level) it was signal very good. I know that signal is more low with ics but it's hardware low quality. unfortunately some components (wifi and camera) are low quality on the our device.
Guys I still use GB for connecting all modem types without any problems but we all know on arc ICS has wifi problems. Freezing while watchin video, deconnect-connect many times etc..
I use locked BL.. How you connect wifi without any problems on your arc ?
I dont mean changing modem protction type wep wpa2 etc.. For example we go outside open wifi and connect while hanging out..
I hope I explained it clearly..
Thank you.
Hello,
I've recently bought a new xperia arc. I've rooted it and after that i installed several roms (4.4.2 - 4.4.3). These roms had different kernels. On all roms wifi supposed to be working, but after a few minutes it doesn't work anymore. I have to restart wifi and after that it works for around 5 minutes. (5 minutes with screen on) Now I was heading to another home and over there, the wifi worked perfectly. So I suppose the problem is caused by our router (thompson TG789vn). The stock wifi from my phone worked perfectly.
This problem was on my xperia X8 too (rooted and android 4.2), but did'nt exist on my xperia J (stock kernel/rom). A friend of mine has the same problem at our home too with a Xperia Neo (stock kernel/rom). Soo it looks like a strange problem. Can someone help me? I tried everything (statici p, google search, other kernel etc.)
Sorry for bad english
