Can anyone confirm if wifi disconnection problem has been fixed with the 2.3.3 update? Thanks
Well I flashed 2.3.3 2 days after I got my Arc, and I've never faced the wifi problem, guess it is fixed?
(Do you mean the one where it disconnects while downloading large files? Mine still gets disconnected about once in 2 days)
Its the one when arc keeps dropping the wifi connection. When wifi sleep policy set to 'never' and yet it drops it almost every time the home button is pressed after the screen has gone off.
Exactly that problem I am still having with my 2.3.3 arc
Mine is better
After upgrading to 2.3.3 it did not seem to improve at all for me, still randomly drops the connection, despite the wifi icon in the status bar still showing as connected. I returned the phone to vodafone yesterday who denied any knowledge of the problem despite so many people on the net complaining about it. They've sent it back for repair now anyway, fingerscrossed they sort something out, but i'm not too optimistic to be honest.
Still have wifi problem here after 2.3.3. Hope they'll fix it's soon

Seemed my router was indeed the problem (Dlink DIR-655).
The time the router ran in was somewhere in 2004, so maybe that caused the Arc to not be connected properly. Weird that laptops and the X10 mini we have don't had any problems with it.
@Roel_1982
what did you do to your router to fix your problem?
Did you change some settings?
Or did you get a new router?

There is no wifi disconnection problem with the Arc. I can confirm this because I use my device mainly through wifi when I listen for hours to online radio stations and haven't faced a single disconnection problem.
yup, still drop out ... GB 2.3.3 hk .145 firmware, TP-Link modem router.
Change wireless router to "g" mode and works ok. It seems to have problem with "N"

I adjusted the time, to update automatic.... also gave my Arc a fixed address through DHCP.
Ever since no problems with the connection. Maybe you could see if there are firmware updates for you're router available.
Update: got the problem again 2.3.3... screen went off, came back on... wifi seems to be connected in the status bar, but it's not
test this http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&sour...PrRWuDqnnVcDpBYIA&sig2=uxmWpCo5pLQ9vBzEpDEqzQ
it may help
Still have the same problem after 2.3.3 on Xperia Neo. =(
Try to turn off WMM in the QoS section of your router. It worked perfect for me. No more drops or disconnections. It's because of poor implementation of WMM in Xperia WLAN driver.
i just flashed the firmware using SEUS, and i dont have wifi disconnections anymore, i think its something to do with flashing the firmware via flashtool o rosmething
I just flashed the firmware using flashtool and i dont have wifi disconnections anymore
My Arc never had a problem with wifi and it doesn't on 2.3.3 either
Something that has worked for a few of us is switching the router to just wpa.

my wifi keeps turning off and off when i use it, could it be a hardware problem? how can I fix this?
it could be.. or could also be software.. have you got any battery management apps or task killers set to auto?

im having the same problem, i think it happens for users who have a LT15a and flashed the LT15i firmware, im not sure, but it vould just be the new firmware

No, I don't have any battery management apps or task killers set to auto. How can I find out if its software or hardware?
well for me when i had the rogers firmware, wifi worked without any issues, whenever i flashed the hong kong firmware, it started to cause problems, so im sure its software related
Are you away from the router? I think WiFi turning off because you're too far away from router is common (at least for me).
if you've not unlocked your bootloader then I would recommend a repair via SEUS or PCC.. bit of a pain to set everything up again, but worth it if it solves your problem.

any solution to this problem? I can only stay on wifi for a minute or two then it keeps on disconnecting even though the indicator at the top says im connected. No issues with 3G it is just the wifi that disconnects. I've tried sitting real close to an AP but it doesn't help.

Have you upgraded to 2.3.3?
This supposedly fixes the issue.
I had minimal problems on 2.3.2 when I first bought the Arc but have had none since the upgrade.

I have not yet, I will asap. I guess that should have been my first solution. Been busy at work the past week.
But also I have read some other threads that was not the solution. Anyone else experience this?

I had the same problem, sent it back to vodafone who flashed it to 2.3.3, did not help one bit. I've sent the phone off to sony ericsson now, hopefully they can sort something out.
I have 2 sony arc phones, both through rogers.
one device has 2.3.2, and the other has 2.3.3 (OTA upgrade)
I read a lot about people having wifi disconnection problems with these phones, and that 2.3.3 was supposed to fix it. I find it rather odd that my problem seems to be the opposite. the device with 2.3.2 has no issues at all.
i've tried with 3 different routers, and they all have the same result. (actiontec v1000H, netgear wndr3700, and dlink dir 655)
so far, i've tried the rogers 2.3.3, the O2 2.3.3 and the generic NA 2.3.3, and all of them have the wifi disconnect problem. yes when i flash back to the generic 2.3.2 the wifi works fine.
this happen to anyone else ?
yes. ever since upgraded to 2.3.3., wifi seems to disconnect more often. reconnects after i go into wifi settings. on 2.3.2 it stayed connected all the time.
O2 generic firmware btw.
i caller Rogers about it, explained all the troubleshooting I did. (minus the fact that i downgraded the FW) and they offered to replace my device. I found this a little odd.
the new phone would ship with rogers 2.3.3 installed right ?
and they don't officially support a downgrade, so really, how is that going to help anything ?
here is to hoping they get cm7 working 100%.
yeh i have the same problem to with my rogers arc, it was fine before, but now it would disconnect. I notice it to happen when i download large files like 10mb or more or when i watch youtube videos or stream other stuff, its kinda annoying to, im gonna try getting my phone replaced and we'll see what happens

well i seem to have fixed it by changing some router settings. i took the "N" mode off. set the router to 54 only. and also change dthe encryption from wpa2 to just wpa. that seems to have fixed it for me.
Adjusted settings here, so far so good.
Nice bit of advice mate.

Confirmed in 2 other routers now, it just doesn't like wpa2.

FIXED:
Apparently the router had a reset button which I just dicovered hidden between the vent gaps, which has a different function than just pulling out the power cord for a minute or so. Now WiFi is working on my phone.
My phone won't connect to a WPA/WPA2 PSK WiFi network. It previously was able to connect (for 2 weeks), but since 6 weeks, it loops: scanning, connecting, disconnected. I have flashed many ROM versions and wiped all phone memory since (mainly for other purposes than this problem), but it still won't connect.
I have tried resetting the router several times without result. I can't access any more settings, because I live with other students in a house where the house-keeper also lives.
The WiFi at my university (802.1x EAP) and the WiFi at my parents house (also WPA/WPA2 PSK) always works properly.
I have searched through the internet and through XDA-forums, but none of the proposed solutions works, can be done on my phone or I am not able to try them because I can't access the router settings.

I'm running stock 2.3.4 with stock kernel. DoomKernel still has problems isn't it? I'll have to live with it till that's fixed. Already tried reverse tethering, maybe that will work.
It's not such a big problem, as I have my laptop near me there, but installing apps is quite a hassle this way (search for .apk, install apk with flashtool or move apk to sd and install).
I don't have a data plan, it's €10/month for 200mb, pointless for me, because there's WiFi at home, at my university and in the train.

When you restoring your phone and after that making setup, then dont log into your google account. Install freshly new rom and directly try connect wifi. If i remember right i had to thiskind problem. And after i realized that problem was "google settings and thatkind stuff backup restore". I just uncheck this option and after that i was abel connect my home wifi. Before that i cant. give a try

Also didn't work, tried that the last time I reflashed.

I am using recently acquired Xperia Pro. I get very weak wifi signals in my room so i bought a Thomson Wifi Repeater/Access point to extend the wifi signal to my room. My phone is now unable to connect to the wifi and keeps scanning, connecting and disconnecting. It eventually ends up with a Limited Connectivity noticfication meaning i am unable to connect to internet although get full wifi signal strength. I tried changing some IP configurations but it hasn't helped. Interestingly my Notebook PC is able to connect and maintain somewhat stable connectivity, although at times it too gets disconnected from the internet. I tried connecting to the Wifi using an iPhone and it too had the same issues i.e able to detect the wifi signal but unable to connect to internet.
I am still trying to find the solution to the problem and will update if i find a way out.

I suggest that you update both your phone software and the router firmware to latest possible version.
Let me know how it goes.
same problem
I have the same problem on my arc s after i downgraded the official ICS to gengerbread using flashtool i even tried to upgrade back the ICS but the problem hasn't been fixed
Fixed
Try to find setting on your router like "max number of peers" or something like that and change the value to maximum it can, maybe it will tell the maximum number. After that reconnect your phone wifi, and bless me:angel:
Had same wifi diconnect loop problem - solved
I had the same WiFi loop - connect/disconnect issue. Extremely disturbing.
It appeared out of nowhere.
Rebooted the phone and the router several times - no help.
Used WiFi analizer to check for interferring chanels - nothing special.
Changed the WiFi chanel anyhow - no help.
Reinstalled/uninstalled AT&T smart WiFi - no help
Removed my WIFi network ('forget' button) and found it again, including the password - no help.
I have the WiFi manager installed, but I sort of forgot to check it doing everything through settings.
Only then I found that my WiFi Manager is stuck on the update announcement screen.
Okayed it - problem solved.
Funny thing, I don't remember updating the WiFi manager lately.
Feel so stupid wasting 2 hours.
Hi,
When im using my S2, there would be this annoying pop up saying "Connected to Wifi ..." like every few minutes to maybe an hour. I looked on Google for fixes but I could not find any. Than I noticed that right before it showed the pop up, the wifi bar was gone so I'm guessing that my wifi connection has been dropped?
So it keeps disconnecting and when it reconnects it has the pop up "Connected to Wifi Network ..."
Does anyone else have this problem? Its new so no need for a factory reset.
Its on the stock ICS update (4.0.3) and not rooted or anything.
A friend told me that my baseband could be corrupted, anyone know how to fix that?
Reflash a new radio.

I have the same issue and i have noticed it only happens at the same 2 places, so it leaves me to believe it is a router issue. At home all i did was unplug my modem and router for a couple of minutes, plugged them backed in and haven't had any more issues. But i would pay attention to were it is happening.

Hi I am also facing the very same issue with my gs2 when I switched to a new wifi router recently. I did not have any issues earlier. I tried some trials and noticed the following..
1. The problem exists with this particular router only.
2. there are other devices working normally in harmony with this router
3. The problem disappears and everything gets smooth and cool when one more device gets connected to the router(wonder how this happens)
4. Same issue with my galaxy tab
I have gs2 with ics 4.0.3
cisco dpc2320 cable modem with wifi router
Any ideas to solve this...???

I think is hardware related since your WiFi was unable to turn on... Like previous S2. After they updated to ICS ROM, a battery leak which causes their WiFi to malfunction. And by the way. did you dropped your phone before?
See this blog:
http://www.stampede-design.com/blog/2012/07/samsung-galaxy-s2-wifi-issue/#.UoAu5XCD91Y
yes I did drop my phone previously but the malfunction does not follow that ...in both times.....previously and now the malfunction followed my discovery and usage of long touch on the WiFi icon in the sliding menu to reach the WiFi setting and choose network....any way the problem have been resolved previously by "more than firmware installation" as the service center worker told me ......I still do not understand what type of software that remain unchanged after complete firmware installation with re-partitioning.
