This could be happening due to several reasons,
- you might have renamed the tar file, or have a corrupted download. Both of these would cause a checksum error in odin
- the image might not be packed properly, you might want to download the ones made on newer firmwares like 6.0.4.5 by pawitp or 6.0.3.6 by Mohanshbhr.
It would be helpful if you could post the fail message from Odin here and the source links/names of the files you are using.
Ateekujjawal is right, it's not an error, just a notification informing you of your current system.
FYI, only the latest firmwares have the emmc notification. If you were to flash even the November firmware builds of 4.2.2, you wouldn't have it at all.

First of all sorry for my bad English.
I have a device with 4.3
When i was trying to root that device a problem happened and odin crushed. After that my device couldnt open. "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again" massage is on screen.
And
On download mode is
Custom Binary Download : Yes (1 counts)
Current Binary : Custom
System Status : Custom
Knox Warranty Void : 1
Ap Swrev : A2
How can i install new firmware. Please help. Can i odin any stock rom?
I have no other telephone so i'm in big trouble.
Don't panic.
Just download ODIN flashable Stock Firmware which should be higher than MK4. Flash it carefully through PC ODIN and you should be good.
Once your phone boots normally to new ROM, reboot once again.
Then switch off, start in Download Mode and flash PhilZ (or whichever you like) recovery through PC ODIN.
After it you can flash any Custom ROM (they all are prerooted).
Good Luck !!!

Silly question, but have you tried
removing battery and rebooting?
booting into download mode or stock recovery?

Hey guys i need some help. I took out my old Galaxy Grand Duos and thought about rooting it to get Android Kitkat ( I have an International version which has never been rooted before ). I rooted it successfully however I am facing problem with the CWM recovery. When i first installed it I was getting the 'No Command" error. I read on XDA that I need to perform a battery pull in order to get the CWM working. I did that and it worked but it only works when I use odin to flash it. Otherwise when ever I enter recovery I get the 'No Command' error. What should I do?
Secondly im trying to install this rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2563557 . When i get the CWM working (by flashing it with Odin) there seems to be an error which prevents me from flashing this rom. The message I get is *Cant install this package on top of incapable data. Please try another package or run a factory reset. Error in (the file location and name) (Status 7) Installation aborted*
Thanks in advance

You need to have latest recovery to flash.
Any latest recovery has SE Linux support. Choose latest version or build of your choice from below threads and flash it using your recovery..

I recently rooted my I9195 successfully. i then flashed a custom kernel i found here on the forum (kernel v1 or sth like that) then my phone wouldn go past the boot white logo screen. i then tried flashing other kernels but they were apparently wrong as some features of my phone didnt work. i finally found the right firmware for my phone and tried to flash it with odin but it failed and now my phone only shows this message where it says that the firmware update failed and i have to use kies in recovery mode.
so i use kies and try the install firmware thing that asks you to put in your model and serial number. i do that and it says the device doesnt support initialisation. tried on another computer and it said that serial number was invalid.. i was very careful when typing it etc.
help.. what do i do?
btw last firmware i had was 4.4.2

I think you should put original back and start over and read forum more howto.
You use ODIN to flash custom rom, why? ODIN is for original rom. With custom rom need use TWRP or other recovery boot.

I used ODIN for past phones to flash custom kernels and it worked fine. i said i flashed someone that isnt supposed to be supported. i have no idea. i am not an expert and i thought someone can provide with a fast fix since there will surely be someone to have experienced this issue.
anyone else?
bump! please help.. i dont have another phone and I need to get this fixed asap!
You don't need root phone before new kernel or custom rom. And i believe you use wrong files for that and now phone wont boot.
Start over with original ROM. With that you can test is your phone ok. Then use ODIN for recovery kernel and custom rom. Also check this:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2678420

that works, and it says downloading like normally when you try to flash something with odin, but it fails and gives me this error again: sw rev check fail: fused 2 > binarz 1
the rom im trying to flash is the DBT one in germany.
I am choosing AP btw, and not the other flash options.

i flashed one of those roms and i got my phone to boot. i have no wifi. i guess it was the last rom i flashed which was the wrong one.
i now tried the one which is supposed to be the correct rom but i land on the same error again. can someone help me find the correct stock rom?
here are the current device info. it seems that there is no official 4.4.2 rom for my phone. so i ****ed up lol.
Your phone has official 4.4.2 Rom and you are currently using it. If you have Wi-Fi issues, your can try to flash custom kernel (Silviu, alexax)

Don't worry you're not into too big of a problem. That download mode is all you need. Search around xda and flash the firmware for your model using odin.
Download the last firmware form you phone here: https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/ and then flash it with the latest odin.
