Hi,
First I want to thank XDA and the members for everything, I'm a bit ashamed to post a question because so much information is available in the various topics and on the net.
But to much information kills the information :laugh::laugh: (power Noob inside )
I rooted my Note8 3G GT5100 N5100XXBMC8
Since a few month it randomly do an soft reboot, especially when installing or updating apps... I'm used to it but I want to sell my device, the buyer wants to keep it rooted but I have to clean it first.
Last time a made a big mistake with my rooted Note2: factory restore... at the moment I hit OK twice I knew it was a bad option
I didn't managed to unbrick it, so I'm pretty stressed to do the wrong choice.
Some are telling to make a Nandroid backup, other TWRP etc... I did the first but can't find any .img backup image to restore.
Reflashing should be the cleanest way but I'm not confident to do it, that's why I'll try to clean it by uninstalling everything, remove obsolete files: good option?
With Windows systems it should no be a problem but Android it's another world
What should I NOT do to avoid bricking my tablet?
I guess I can install a firmware for GT5100 3G 32Gb from another country or not? I'm from Belgium, what if I install one from Greece or India? Changing the language should be enough.
My device have no simlock
About language, if someone can help me in French or Dutch in PM, it would be fantastic because my english is more than basic
Or will you advice me to unroot my device?
Thank you for your patience and sorry for posting this question, I read so many topics about it with contradicting informations, I don't know what to believe...
Cheers,

Sorry Folks, I'm new to this site/forum, I would like to upgrade my HTC Desire HD to the 4.0 update, which I read/watched is working well. My problem is I'm fairly handy with my phone and somewhat with computers. But I don't see/understand how to actually go about that. I thought I saw somewhere, that I am to factory reset my phone, I can handle that, but I guess what I don't understand, is how I actually get the update ONTO the phone. Do I just go this website and clink on a link from my phone and it will take over? If so, which one, I see links all over the place. Should I remove my memory card? I'm assuming this site is for really phone, computer savy people. I just want to try the update. Would be happy to donate to the site, once I get it going. Can someone please help me. Thanks for everyone's time of reading this. Sorry for my ignorance.
Cheers.

Before screwing your phone read this guide carefully Post #7 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1824379)
There are also lots of interesting stuff in there so read, read and read.
Hi, its a little more complicated than you suggest in your post.
First you will need to disable the security on your device (known as s-off) and flash a custom recovery.
You need to download the rom you wish to install and save it to your sd card. See here for a list of custom roms, there is a section for Android 4.0:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1610483
Boot the phone into recovery, wipe you phone data and factory reset then install the rom.
You can use this to unlock the phone and flash clockworkmod recovery:
http://tau.shadowchild.nl/attn1/?p=74
Do loads of searching this forum and googling so you fully understand the process as there is a chance of bricking your phone if it goes wrong. If you do your homework, are methodical and computer savy as you mentioned you should be fine.
Good luck!
Thanks, But...think I'm screwed.
Thanks Guys for your help, but I think this is way beyond me. Its not that I'm lazy, but I can't see myself reading tons of posts and researching for days to do this. I'm having a hard time even finding relevant info that pertains to what I'm trying to do, links and stuff everywhere. Doesn't seem like a lot to ask for to have a step by step guide. You know what I mean ie: Step 1, Factory Reset, Step 2, download this file Step 3. Run it etc... Oh well, I will just suffer with this phone, and probably get stung getting out of my contract early and get a Samsung G3 or something. I had thought this was as easy as factory resetting my phone, downloading a thing or two and then just running it. Too bad there wasn't a store or place I could take this to, to get it done properly by people in the know. Would gladly pay to have this done.
Thanks.
Everything you need is in the link and guide glevitan gave you. But you do need to read. If you don't want to, the rooting and flashing isn't for you.
Sent from a dream.
Greetings, people of the XDA forums! I am Brazilian Slaughter, some anonymous brazilian from northern Brazil.
I am the owner of a Samsung Galaxy Core Plus (SM-G3502T) smartphone, android jellybean.
Lately, my smartphone has been getting in my nerves with its slowness. A few months ago, I have decided to root it. Someone somewhere in the internet has suggested me to root and install Cyanogen, because the default samsung interface is slow crap and putting Cyanogen would make it faster.
I went researching these days, and found that Cyanogen is dead, LineageOS is in its place. But, searching and asking, i found out that LineageOS has no official support for my phone. A guy in reddit did tell me there was a unnoficial build for my phone and I should ask here.
So, here I am. I got my files backuped already. I plan on rooting it and installing a new ROM. But...
1. Which is the best root program? I've heard of Kingroot, but people told me its shady chinese ****, so I should go with SuperSu, Xposed or another program (something with magic whose name I forget).
2. Which is the best rom to install? Is there a unnoficial build of LineageOS for my device? Is it worth it? Should I install something else? If so, what?
(is this the right section? I hope it is)
Thank you for the help!
You can't put anything custom (no Custom Recovery and no Custom ROM) on the SM-G3502T, because it has a locked bootloader (I wrote something here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/help/samsung-galaxy-core-plus-trend-3-t3524989 )
That means in 1) that you can't flash SuperSU, Xposed or Magisk (you probably meant that) and 2) is completely impossible
You may be able to root it (can't say how, I don't have this phone, I heard that vRoot, Kingoroot or Framaroot should work though, there is a script too which replaces it with SuperSU).
If you can't root the phone (or fail somewhere and it is bricked), get the stock firmware from http://www.sammobile.com/ and install it through ODIN (If you need I can send you a few links on how to do that)
EDIT: Added link
Thank you, Tim Schumi! This post was very informative!
I better not risk rooting it for now, learn more. I think I know someone who might get it done. I might get a new cellphone soon - or better saying, mom might get a new cellphone soon, and I will get hers'. Once I have a backup I can risk it freely.
This is a good phone, but it has some annoying useless **** it totally does not need, you know?

You can always flash back your Stock ROM via Odin (unless you really manage to overwrite something like the bootloader). But yeah, you better wait until you have another phone so you can try stuff with this one.
Good evening, first of all tell everyone I have searched and re-searched for all forums, in English in Spanish etc. I have tried to get in touch with former foreros of here but there is no way.
I have a htc desire 820 Brickeado, when I turn it on I get a screen and some red letters and I enter directly to the recovery or to the bootloader that, I do not know very well that it is.
Before I was a very active user in this forum, flashed almost every day etc etc but I have already lost a bit the thread as all I imagine.
The issue is that I need to install a rom to this pile and I am very very lost.
I have read a lot and I still do not get anything clear and I am frustrating. I'm lost with the theme of the cmd and all that history, I used the files to flash in a SD to the wipes and installed the new rom, but now that it goes, I do not use the method for more than I read.
I need a kind of guide for fools, because there is no way, I hope someone can help me.
The data I have are: I do not know the system I had, whether lollipop, kitkat, marshmallow or which. I get upstairs in large, UNLOCKED and I get SOFTWARE STATUS: MODIFIED, S-ON and then other data with many numbers. I thank them for everything, since I've spent many hours and it's a personal challenge this ... I've been going for two or three days at the pinion going crazy, I've downloaded 30 recoveries, 50 roms and I do not know what to do. Thank you very much in advance.
Sorry for my bad english. Google traductor, sorry, i´m spanish.

Hi guys...
after a longer time of trying and mistakes I have a possibilty to root this phone by magisk. Now I would like to give him a recovery in full function and not this **** in stock rom (best would be Twrp). To this moment nothing in net I found. Also is a problem the encryption of the phone, because in fact I cant make no changes in system. McAfee can't start because of this.
I am a starter in phone things and bricked a lot of phones, giving them later life back searching weeks in forums like this learning by doing mistakes. Is there anybody outside made more steps forward than me?
Thanks for answering. Would be happy to get all informations, changes, custom roms, recovery's and other stuff about this quite good telephone.

Same hope...
Armor X5 problem is not connect with fastboot....
Just Waiting boot.img magisk with verified signature, to flash with SP Multi Port...
