Help HTC desire 820 Pl - Desire 820 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Good evening, first of all tell everyone I have searched and re-searched for all forums, in English in Spanish etc. I have tried to get in touch with former foreros of here but there is no way.
I have a htc desire 820 Brickeado, when I turn it on I get a screen and some red letters and I enter directly to the recovery or to the bootloader that, I do not know very well that it is.
Before I was a very active user in this forum, flashed almost every day etc etc but I have already lost a bit the thread as all I imagine.
The issue is that I need to install a rom to this pile and I am very very lost.
I have read a lot and I still do not get anything clear and I am frustrating. I'm lost with the theme of the cmd and all that history, I used the files to flash in a SD to the wipes and installed the new rom, but now that it goes, I do not use the method for more than I read.
I need a kind of guide for fools, because there is no way, I hope someone can help me.
The data I have are: I do not know the system I had, whether lollipop, kitkat, marshmallow or which. I get upstairs in large, UNLOCKED and I get SOFTWARE STATUS: MODIFIED, S-ON and then other data with many numbers. I thank them for everything, since I've spent many hours and it's a personal challenge this ... I've been going for two or three days at the pinion going crazy, I've downloaded 30 recoveries, 50 roms and I do not know what to do. Thank you very much in advance.
Sorry for my bad english, it´s a google traductor.

Need some ROM help from someone who is German.

Hi, I currently use the HTC EVO, and I gifted my G1 to my daughter in Germany. Since I figured many here have had similar devices before the EVO that somone could help since the G1 forum is kind of dead, and my question is going unanswered.
I had it rooted, but decided for the sake of simpleness to unroot it. I am American but my daughter is German American. Her English is decent enough, but for technical reasons I am having a hard time explaining how to root.
She uses her cell with a Sim card for phone (without data plan) and uses WiFi for the internet. Well she was able to root and install recovery, but now she is stuck. She can not log into her account because she can not set up the Wifi. I know the current Froyo rom allows you to simple skip login so you can set everything up.
It has been a while since I have messed with the G1 (6mos. or longer) so I am pretty unfamiliar with current ROMs. She needs a ROM that has German Language/keyboard support, and one that will allow her to bypass login to set up wifi, and should be able to do Apps to SD card. I do not think that she did the DangerSPL, so any ROM should also contain instructions if it requires SPL.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I'll check CM6 for you on my old G1 when I can take a look at it. It has all the requirements you need, but not 100% on the German. I also forgot what SPL yo need for it, but I'll figure that out if you give me a few hours.
Thank you,
My daughter is following along on this thread.

Dont attempt it unless you understand it do lots of reading.
If you want better quadrant scores use photoshop (or paint).
The rooting process is pretty well explained in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=814381
From that point on try searching, it's all been mentioned before.

If you want a nice ROM with Sense I can recommend the LeeDroid ROMs as speedy and stable.
What i found was that Sense was fun for a while but I ended up putting new launchers over the top anyway ....
If you dont mind losing Sense and fancy Gingerbread ROM then im currently using Ginger Villain. Its very impressive and very stable
Redux ROm for the Win
When I got my first Desire, I left it at stock and was still impressed with everything it could do. After a while I decided to root it as I was curious about all of the ROMs available.
I played with various ROMs like LeeDroid, Oxygen, GingerVillain and accidentally stumbled across one called Redux.
I put it on and have not changed since (actually I tried the Villain_au rom for 1/2 an hour, then restored Redux).
My advice would be to root your device, create a Nandroid backup via the recovery boot, then experiment with the various ROMs until you are happy with one. All of the info you need is available through this site, you just need to read a bit.
A word of advice, for the most part, perform a full wipe of the phone with each new ROM. It makes things easier and less things "break".
When you have rooted your phone, make "Titanium Backup" your new friend along with SMS backup tools.
I know enough to be dangerous in terms of rooting and ROMs now, and everything I have learnt so far came from this site.
Hope this helps.
OK, your new to Android.
Actually Desire is also my first Android phone and I have been using it for about 8 months.
What I did until now is first to get use with my phone with its original condition during the first month and also learning if there are more things I could do with my phone, here I found out what is and how to root my Desire.
After about a month, I decided to root my phone because I had problems with the very limited memory for apps installation.
I was confuse which ROM should I use after rooting since I also want better and new ROMs...someone told me about the LeeDroid and I also agreed to use it since LeeDroid is quite similar to the stock ROM but of course with additional functionalities.
Than the flashing-virus got me...and...I flashed many ROMs (RCmixHD, DeFrost, MIUI, RCs Z, etc.) until I decided to settle with BaadNewz 1.3 (now InsertCoin 2.0.1).
S-Off and other more advance things got picked up on the way till now.
All of the knowledge about my Desire came from this incredible Forum and its members...so..search, read and ask to people here...
Here is a start from me:

alright i have decided to install oxygen rom cuz its simple and fast and very good as told by the droid guys here , im waiting for my 32gb card to arrive and then install the rom (for partition of 4gb for internal memory) , thanks everyone now the mods can lock this thread
Its not adviced to use ext partition bigger than 1.5gb (market problems)... you would never used it anyways...
1GB is absolutely enough for ext3/4 partition... you can install apps on SD card anyway. ;-)
yea most advanced users and devs would recommend 1gig was the perfect amount of room. anything more then 1.5 gigs will give you issues
alright thanks guys for the advice , today i will go through the reading and understanding stuff then apply it tomorrow
i have orange phone and there are two orange roms to downgrade me phone (unroved says its too new to root) one is orange ch-fr and other is orange ch . which one should i use
Just use orange ch

they tell you to put Q's in the Q&A forum.. then you do it, and you get **** for it. this isnt simple for everyone and there are different intricacies to all the firmware. if you dont want to answer a legit question, dont. but its amazing how smug this place is sometimes. give the guy a break, he just got the phone.
Try
Dont worry. Just try out the guides

it might work for you. If you really wanna root just go for it and post your results for other users benefit. If you can wait then wait till your version comes under the umbrella.
Cheers

I wasn’t giving ****. I was simply stating that proper use of the search function (with multiple stickies in each sub forum, and agreements when you sign up stating to use it prior to posting) should be followed.
When I was green and first got my android device, I searched and searched and read anything and everything relevant before making any post. Too many people on these and other forums are lazy and don’t put in the time to really learn about their devices before beginning to mess with them. At least half of the people in here shouldn’t even be rooting their phones as they're technically inept from being able to recover from a blunder.
I've read so many posts which shouldn’t even exist if diligent information gathering and processing was actually executed, polluting the forums so much that finding a piece of useful information by simply browsing through all the bullarky, is next to impossible. I personally instead now strictly use the search function when looking for information that I may require.
Also, on page 3 or 4 of that thread, even though the op says "to 2.37.762.2 ONLY" there's been reports confirming it works with his version as well.
I've been experimenting on finding a way to downgrade 2.43.
Once receiving my phone back from repair after a true Brick (where only viable recovery is through jtaging) I found my device was updated to 2.43.661.1 which is part of the unrootable category at this time. So even after not being able to work on my rom for 3 weeks, due to the device being in repair, I still can’t work on my rom because I can’t push apk's and files into system area's to which root access is necessary.

First url points to a method that does NOT work.
psneuter does not work, therefore the goldcard downgrade will not work.
Second url is what I posted as the first response.
@ Babycover
Before attempting to root, take the next few days to learn about things like the goldcard, RUU's, the Android SDK's, and basic linux commands (since android is simply a version of linux). Look at various tutorials on how to do things (but dont actually do them, just take note on similarities, and reocurring commands so if you were to do them you'd be comfortable executing them). Familiarize yourself with everything before experimenting.... makes recovering from a problem a lot easier than reading replies of people who think they know what they're talking about.
Things to note: Any RUU can be used once your device has radio S-off and use them rather than a PD98IMG.zip from your sd card. Your spash screen can only be changed if your device has ENG[ineering] S-off ('ENG' will take the place of 'SHIP' in the bootloader). Do not partition your sd card using CWM recovery; even though it supposedly has been fixed, it still may brick your phone (I personally dont believe you should have to partition an SD card ever!).
If the 2.37 method of the rooting doesnt take, you're in my boat with an unrootable device. You might as well see if you can update to the latest 2.5X build if your phone isnt carrier specific (using an ruu, and the device's data that cannot be synced with a google account or sense will be gone, but atleast you'll have the latest build)
If you do manage to Downgrade, dont use the post-downgrade rooting method, rather, follow my steps to root, radio s-off and eng s-off
Its a collection of what works, simplified for use without extras.

Enjoy your new phone.
@jsl softbank 237. 2. Has bwwn kicking my ass. And im dont even feel like posting my issues because of responses like yours. I just ask everyone to read their post like a noob. 'Search *****' isnt a very inviting response to what i feel is a pretty good forum. Also, english is a second language for many. What is simple to you isnt so simple for many

HTC one m8 stuck and desperate owner

Guys I am kind of screwed here, could you help me out?
Ok so I wanted to root my HTC one m8 and flash a custom rom on it (the sky dragon one, but that is irrelevant). So I looked up a video on youtube called; "how to root you htc one m8 **made easy** " and everything went well (it did take me about 3 hours... I am not a proud man right now...), until I had to install a custom rom. I wiped my phone, cache etc. (including phone storage) and here's where I start to notice my failure. I don't exactly know what steps I did and where exactly everything went wrong, but basically this is what I've got to work with: -a htc one m8 that gets stuck on the htc boot-up screen -roms complaining about missing md5 files and verification error or something -and last but not least; a very concerned owner who, after about 7hours of non-stop trying, is pretty desperate for help...
right now is there anyone who could help me with this, it would mean a lot to me (and my phone)
Edit: I remember where exactly my phone got stuck in the boot-up htc screen; it was right after I rooted my phone, but supersu said it was missing binary files or something. I installed, according to the guy from the video this woul fix it, supersu version 2.4 updater or something, and from that point the phone would't get past the boot-up screen. Again: any help is, at this point, very very veerryy appreciated

Beware of such Youtube tutorial videos. I normally advise against using them. They often contain outdated information that can easily screw you up. And even more important, they are often used to shortcut the learning process, spoon-feeding you the steps in a way that pretty much means you won't learn anything; and leave you high and dry without the proper knowledge, when things inevitably do south.
Word to the wise: read, learn and understand before trying anything else. I know XDA can be a bit intimidating (like trying to drink out of a firehose, as one new member phrased it). But all the information is here, for those willing to take the time to read and learn.

Its completely relevant and important what ROM and version number you tried to install. Skydragon GPE or Sense? And what version number?

Not clear from your description when you tried to root. But its probably at least part of the problem. You don't need to root if you are installing a custom ROM. You don't need to root in order to flash it (just an unlocked bootloader, and custom recovery), and you don't need to root after flashing, as all the custom ROMs are already pre-rooted.
For further help, we'll need more info on the phone. If you know how to use fastboot, do a fastboot getvar all, and post the results (delete your IMEI and serial number before posting). If you don't know how to use fastboot . . . well, time to start reading.
Also, need to know what TWRP version, and SuperSU version you tried.

Thank you very much for your help and in the future I will definetly do some more research before doing this ind of stuff, but I EXTREMELY glad to tell you: I FIXED IT . I googled and googled and all in all it probably took me around 15 hours, but I installed the marshmallow stock gpe rom for my phone via fastboot and after about 70 tries, learning and googling along the way, it worked. I don't know what went wrong the first time I tried (with the rooting), but everything is fully functional right now and my battery life, along with my free storage (bloat used to take up around 4 gigs), has improved significantly. I really really appreciate your response and I wil certainly be more careful in the future. Also, am I now allowed to call myself a "hacker"? I am right? . Have a great day; android is masterrace!

Probably could have cut down on the amount of time finding the problem, and the reason root failed; if you had provided the info requested in my last post. My last post was meant to be taken "post the required info, and we'll help you more". But glad you sorted it out, anyway; and you're welcome and glad to have helped in whatever way you found useful.
I'd also suggest sticking to XDA search function for these types of mods (or at least, reputable mod websites). Googling random websites will often lead to outdated info; and the info is often stolen from XDA, anyway.
