[Q] Album app own folders - Xperia Z1 Compact Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi friends,
how can i create own albums in xperia Z1comp. Album app?
don't see the option there. i have imported more than 2000 photos from iphone during migration.
i had folders in iphone also have them in my note2.
is it possible with default app ? or should i use diff one (which one) ?
thanks for your help

QuickPic
Small and blazing fast app, supports folders.

Stock album app is only able to display whatever file structure you have plus some internal extras (like faces, map, etc.) - no chance to create own albums with that app.

Qiuckpic looks fine. Better then stock app but still not comfortable as samsung's one

[Q] manage music and photo gallery

hi all
i bought a DHD few days ago and flashed the core droid 2.2 rom and loving it! i would like to know if there is a way to manage the music app in such a way that it only displays files from a particular filder and not each and every music file that is there on the phone for e.g. sound files from various applications are also present in my music area which is very annoying and the same goes for the gallery which shows each and every image and video file present on the phone.
i would like to know if i can define a particular folder to the music and gallery app to use.
nevermind i figured it out!! but i really wish that i could tell android to only scan my 'music' folder for the music app or the 'pictures' folder for the gallery app.
Just download a nomedia app from the market, put a .nomedia file in all folders except the ones you have music/pictures/videos in, job done

JB 4.1.1 - How to exclude items from the gallery?

Hello,
How are you?
I have a small problem.
My gallery app shows 4 albums I do not want there.
I select them, but there is no delete option.
The albums are:
- Wall pictures
- Profile Pictures
- Blogger Pictures
- An experimental blog I started.
I went to the account sync and disabled google photos, but the albums are still there.
Any solution?
Thank you.
Best wishes!

Use Root Explorer (download it from Play Store) to create a file called .nomedia in whatever folder on your sd card from which you do not want any pictures showing up in your gallery. This works 100%

Swyped on my Galaxy Nexus running AOKP with Franco Kernel, overclocked to 1.4GHz
You can also just do a search from your computer of your phone and copy and paste the file to where you want. Subdirectories will also be excluded so just stick it in the parent folder.

[Q] Need help regarding Album and photo widgets

Hi all......
i installed jelly bean on my xperia sl and its flaw less but there is a problem in album it shows alll the photos from internal memory also from inside Sdcard/Android/Data etc where i have placed my games data so ultimately the photo and video widget is also showing images from DCIM as well as internal data folder .. it is annoying me....this problem was not present is previous android version so kindly help me how to make photo and video widget only show photos from DCIM folder only??? thanksss
If you put the apps your self then that is why how ever it could be that the wrong owner group is set on the folders

Use a file explorer. Like es file explorer for example.
Go to the folder you don't want to be shown.
Create a new file and name it .nomedia
Depending on the explorer you probably won't see this new file. But it will be there and should stop that specific folder being seen as media

Stop creation of photo albums?

Is there any way to stop the phone from creating so many albums? I have Camera, downloads, Snapchat saved photos, Instagram, vscocam, messenger etc....ideally I'd just have one album in chronological order of photos. Can this be done?

The app redirect in the play store MIGHT be able to do that but you realize its pretty much the apps themselves that are creating those folders, not the phone. I run none of those extra apps and I only have Camera, downloads (which is a standard android folder) and screenshots.

Any image viewer app recommendation?

Which image viewer app would you recommend for this phone?
I know we have the default "Photos" app, but it only works if you include the folders.
For example, I don't include the "screenshots" folder, because I don't want to back it up to the cloud (Google Drive) by Photos app.
Tx.
You don't have to include the folders to view the contents?!
Just goto the menu and go in device folders.
You can just turn off folders for backup on Google Photos

I like a program called F-stop gallery pro. It's worth the money IMHO.
