I have an E975. After I 'bricked' my phone once, and re install kdz using kdz updater. I tried to unlock my phone again. I thought KDZ update will wipe my phone, but after reboot I found my apps still there. So I re run the FramaRoot, select Gandalf, wait until success msge appear. The uninstall the Freegee, redownload FreeGee, trying to run freegee, download BusyBox, install busybox, and finally FreeGee main screen.
I click backup EFS. then decided to install CWM. Choose Mako. now the weird thing happens, its been 1 hour, and still displaying "Performing action CWM-6.0.4.7"
Am I doing it wrong??? What should I do?
Btw, I bricked my phone before because I installed ROM Manager and CWM Recovery before unlocking the bootloader.

any luck??
You installed CWM sucefully. But you dont unlock bootloader so the LG security error activates.
So you have to flash a KDZ firmware from LG.
Then root.
You dont have to use ROM manager, it can brick your device also.
After root, download FreeGee aplication from PlayStore, it will unlock your bootloader and install CWM or TWRP, youchoose.
OK so what is happening is I'm getting a secure boot error.
From the start I rooted the gpro using towelroot..I was on a stock 4.4.2 image I think 20h?, then from there checked root, once I had root I installed chainfires su, dl'd the spinx gpro recovery and dl'd freegee and installed cwm 6.0.4.7. That was a while ago and at that time I had installed blisspop 2.0, loaded apps ect, ect and all good. Never been s fan of cwm so tried installing twrp thru freegee but it wouldn't work. I dl'd vanir and was gonna go into recovery but one I tried I got a secure boot error..[emoji27]. So I figured trying to flash twrp wiped the cwm, so I went back to freegee and tried reflashing cwm and that also failed. Tried using gpro recovery and the freegee cwm but no dice. Anyone have this problem and to get a custom recovery installed or do I need to lgflashtool back to stock and start fresh?
Hi!
I've recently rooted my phone using StumpRoot and I've decided to flash CWM Recovery using the ROM Manager from Google Play Store...
Ofcourse I forgot that V20c has a locked recovery, so now whenever I try to boot into recovery, I get "Secure booting error". Fortunately, the system works just fine, so the only harm done is the complete lack of recovery
Have anyone tried unlocking the bootloader on KitKat using FreeGee app? I've seen it mentioned more often than once, though I can't find any info regarding its usage on Kitkat v20c. Can the secure booting error cause further problems if I try the FreeFee app?
OK, tried FreeGee, the bootloader seems to be unlocked with CWM Recovery installed. Rebooting into recovery in ROM Manager (from Google Play Store) works like a charm.
Used the MAKO method, installed CWM-6.0.4.7.
Now whenever the phone boots up, first Google logo will appear, followed by LG, followed by carrier/LG animation
Backgrond: Fresh new device. I unlocked bootloader through the all in one toolbox here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/tool-tool-one-driversunlocktwrpfactory-t3358711) to unlock bootlaoder successfully and install twrp ( I chose this version TWRP 3.2.1 Blu Spark OP5T).
I unlock my bootloader successfully and then tried to install superSU through twrp. I realized at the time of TWRP installation, that I didnt have SUPERsu on my device so I booted up my phone, downloaded Super SU from (http://www.supersu.com/download) and then went back into recovery mode. I was able to install the file through twrp but now I'm stuck on the OnePlus Screen.
On the toolkit screen there was a message saying
"if you flash a modified recovery and you dont root your stock rom (or flash another rom) you will brick you phone.
Is that what I did? Should I flash a custom rom?
I can access fastboot, recovery, etc and use adb sideload. I thought maybe I installed the wrong super user file so I flashed a new one through adb sideload (this file SR5-SuperSU-v2.82-SR5-20171001224502) but that didnt do anything either.
What should I do?
Hi guys it's been a while since I've rooted any devices but decided to root my LG G PAD 8.3 (V500), since it is so outdated. I'm gonna go over exactly what I did on how I got here to better understand. Sorry in advance for the long winded post.
-Anyway, I had to downgrade to 4.2.2 by using the LG Flash Tool 2014.
-Then, I rooted my device by running root.bat Also, I had SuperSU when I rooted.
-After rooting, I installed TWRP via the play store, downloaded the most recent twrp.img and flashed it via the app. It took me forever to get to recovery by pressing power+volume down and then pressing power+volume down+volume up. But after what felt like 20+ tries, I got to TWRP recovery.
-I wiped my phone and flashed the most recent Lineage ROM. Unfortunately, after flashing the ROM, I could not flash GApps because it rebooted to the ROM after flashing. TWRP let me know that I had to update TWRP and since I did not have the play store and I was once again having trouble getting into recovery, I downloaded the most recent TWRP apk.
-When trying to open the apk, it gave me a "can't open file" message which I didn't understand why. After rebooting, for some reason, it then let me run the TWRP apk and installed the TWRP app. This is when I found out that I was no longer rooted because TWRP notified me. I double checked with root checker and indeed I was no longer rooted. I have no idea when or how that happened.
-Again, I couldn't get into TWRP recovery until I plugged in my phone to my PC and for whatever reason, it helped me get into recovery. I wiped the phone and proceeded to flash Lineage and GApps.
-I read that by flashing SuperSu I may regain root, so downloaded an updated SuperSu, went into recovery and flashed SuperSu. When rebooting, the LG screen came up with a message at the top left corner reading "secure booting error! Boot certification verify". At that point, I was in a bootloop and had to go into recovery, wipe and flash again minus supersu. So I am now on Lineage with GApps and no root.
How do I regain root? And anyone know how I was able to lose it? Back in the day when I was into flashing, I never had these problems and never lost root out of nowhere like this.
Also, if I wanted to get back to stock LG 4.2.2, how would I go about that? I know that currently, I can't use the LG Flash Tool 2014 because my current ROM does not have a USB Software option in order for the tool to recognize the tablet.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you.
