[Q] Battery issues... - Huawei Ascend P6, Mate

Hey guys!
Recently my battery's been draining EXTREMELY quickly, and then I mean 10% in less then 20 minutes. I've had this issue with MIUI, B125, and KK Beta. It's gotten SO bad, my battery is discharging while it's charging... Does anybody else have this issue and/or know how to fix it?

What does it say under battery in settings?

Gsam Battery Monitor might give some more insights on whats draining it. Maybe the battery's calibration is messed up after trying different roms... ?

How would I fix the battery's calibration? This sounds logical to me, since it's draining EXTREMELY quickly. Take it off the charger, and within the next 20 minutes it has lost about 10-15%
Looked up how to "calibrate the battery", but it seems wiping battery stats doesn't do anything for your battery life... But my battery is just draining like hell with no apparent reason...

And after the first 20 mins and 10-15%, how does it uncharge ? Quick again or with normal speed ? Battery drain and false battery stats are different things.

Well, the drain does slow down after the first 20 min, yes.

Then for me it's not drain, rather just a problem with the calibration. I've used this program with an old HTC which had battery problems. One last question, as a whole, how much time do you get with a full charge ?

I always try not to let it go below 30%, so with my regular use (music, a little bit of data here and there for browsing and whatsapping, maybe one or two phone calls, sometimes a text-message, and wifi when home) it reaches 30% after about 8,5 hours

So we could conclude that you get let's say 12 hours of NOT standby time, maybe moderate usage. Seems ok. It'd be good to hear some more opinions.

Iget about 12 hours or more of usage but if I play any games or switch on 3G it does discharge while charging

Try the stock charger without anything between the usb cable and the powerplug. If that doesn't work, try a better charger. The Samsung one that came with my mum's SIII works better than to stock Huawei charger IMO :cyclops:

My girlfriend's experia charger is 2000mah and also charges faster.

Maybe your battery gets drained because of this issue? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2696389
I experienced a similar draining effect.

Post a Screenshot of your battery drain in the settings and give details about your setup. And what is fast in your opinion? 1% /hour?
Maybe you should buy the extended battery kit?

try flashing different kernels and see which one suits u the best.every phone is different.u may also wanna underclock and undervolt. also change the rom may b if changing kernel doesnot work.ine suggestion.XenonHD rom with its stock kernel.
The stock battery is a joke at 1800 and the extended is 2100...I had both and both sucked although the 2100 was a lil better. I have the 3800 Seiko battery now and that will last me all day. Makes the phone thicker but its better then charging all day and worrying about what's killing your battery.

Turn off features when not being used like data NFC GPS.
Also avoid auto task killers
How much does it drain in one hour? Battery drain depends on many factors. The mains ones would be what kernel and ROM you are running as well as what "features" you have turned on. For example I am running CM10.1 with the stock CM kernel and I usually get around 16-18 hours of battery life with 1.5-2 hours of screen time.. that is with all of the features (gps, NFC, etc.) turned OFF.
Refer to my post, partner

How on earth can you drain a 3800mAh battery in one day? Nonstop internet radio AND 3d gaming on full display brightness?
I am currently using PA rom with franco kernel. Normal day = roughly 13-15 hours ish.
By normal day I mean around 30 minutes of talk time, about 1 hour ish web browsing and like what, 30 minutes ish of youtube? Of course, sometimes I am free and end up playing games on it for couple hours lol, but the stock battery seems to be plenty enough to me.
My battery makes it about 15-17 hours, with about 1 hour gaming,1 hour browsing and talk time around 1,5 hours...Xylon + Purity Kernel!
It is what it is. This is Wi-Fi only on this charge:

Turn data off when not using it. You can download a widget for that.
Keep screen brightness down low.
If rooted use setcpu and choose a screen off profile of 350mhz maximum - I find this a real benefit.

Using android is like changing a new phone every month!
Better check you apps behaviour and syncs with BetterBatteryStatts and cpu spy for deep sleep. No way a battery drains that fast normaly.
Interesting thing is, I just did a full wipe/factory restore, couldn't be an issue with my apps, could it? Gonna go log my battery in the mean while
Using android is like changing a new phone every month!
Could it be due to this process "audioOut_2"?
Dont have vibes installed though, yet somehow this is preventing phone from sleeping.
Will try with second handset to see if this is an issue with rebooting phone on silent mode

how many screen time? have you put you phone in a hot zone? have yoy been playing while charging for a long time? i say it because it is known that some samsung batteries inflate themselves and decrease the battery life to like about 15 minutes so look if the battery is normal or a bit rounded (fat battery)
hope it helped,

Hot zone meaning? I haven't been abusing my phone, but when I play some games/surf the Web, the battery seems to die at almost twice the speed it did before.
If buying a new battery would solve this issue, then I would buy without hesitation! I'm just scared that the battery condition is not the main issue with this drain.
Currently doing a full drain/charge to recalibrate the battery

by hot zone I mean let the phone in the sun or somewhere when the temperature is high. I recommend you to check your battery physically, I mean open the back of the phone and see if the battery is in the same condition as when you received it. As I said before the main problem could be that your battery have been inflated if is this you must replace it not only because the bad performance but also because it is really dangerous(there are acids in there and if it explote..)
However it seems more like a continous draining try calibrating as you said with battery calibration or similars. If the battery starts to decrease its life (i mean today lasts 5h., tomorrow 3h.) it is almost sure what i said about the battery.
hope i helped you somehow

Mass battery drain?

So I'm on 4.4.2 stock, Stock kernel, and I'm getting ridiculous battery drain. Any app I use, I will use for 5 minutes and lose 10% battery. Had 100 and then to 72 in a matter of 20ish minutes. And then as I'm typing this I plug it in and it jumps from 72 to 18?! Anyone know what the f is going on????

I had to same issue, I use this app on the play store called battery doctor (battery saver) its very well saves me battery,
Now there's a test you can do yourself to see if ur battery is bad or going back one is see if the little white sticker us still white if its pink it came into contact with water, another thing you can do is sit the batter flat on a table and spin it if it spins by itself( try on both sides) that means the battery is fattening up and needs to be replaced. Or if u want to you can take ur phone to sprint store and have them test the battery. You just say I need my battery tested I think it's bad. And they will do it for you I used to work for sprint. Now if u need another battery the stock battery is Samsung and you can get it cheap on Amazon.
Halp. I got a new battery, the anker 2200 mah, and I'm having issues again.. Charged all night, within 20 minutes of unplug I'm at 63 percent, then I plug back in to charge and I drop to 23???

It's definitely gotta be TouchWiz (if you're still using it). I have a backup of it via TWRP and I use it when I have ST network issues. When I flashed CM11 and spent a few nights charging and using it through the day, it got used to me using it. I don't know why, TouchWiz just has too much battery usage.
try doing a battery reset once you have the new battery in...

TouchWiz drained my battery so I could only get about 4 hours out of it. I have PacROM which is stripped down more than touchwiz+slim Gapps, and I (attempted to) enable battery tweaks but it didn't want to stay checked. I usually have my brightness down all the way and use Advanced Task Killer to kill my apps.
I remember when I used to use that on my LG Optimus S. Good days...

[Miui.eu 7.2.9] Poor battery life

Hello guys,
what is happening? Is battery faulty or something is "leeching"? Standby drain is imho insane, about 1.5-2% every hour.

Before you doing anything, please let your device to settled down for a week. If the problem persist, then try the solution given by BPSoft
So far I could achieve the best battery gains with the following step: Settings / Battery & Performance / Hide System Animations.
it's strange, i have same battery life on global and eu 6 to 7 hours of screen time.
Last week ,I move from global to 7.2.9 . and I still have 7 hours of battery life
Thanks for all replies.
Well, I was experiencing the issue about qfp-service.
I uninstalled it and now I'm testing the phone. Seems to be a little better, but not too much.
Just a little question, may battery really be faulty or it's just my paranoia?
And, maybe more important, it's normal to have battery consumption divided in 64% software (15.4% Android System, 12.1% OS Android) and only 36% hardware (23.4% screen)?
The strange thing is that I can achieve ~5h of screen time or ~3h in two consecutive days, how much I use the phone seems does not matters.
I'm using the latest weekly miui eu and have no problems at all
Battery is not problem rom has drain..
It start from 7.1.19..

I upgraded from 8.0.10.0 to 8.2.2.0 both from xiaomi.eu.
With the last upgrade my mi5s started having qfp-service draining like a mad.
It was ~2m (100% to ~20% batt.) while now is 34m (~100% to 60% batt.).
Many people were complaining about fp reader, so I think that they (upstream, miui.com) come with a "fix" that introduced the problem.
Now I have frozen com.qualcomm.qti.biometrics.fingerprint.service like someone is suggesting.

Battery Capacity on the 5T

Hi all,
I'm using AccuBattery Pro and it shows my phone's battery capacity is at 3106 mAh. I understand this is a 3rd party app and it probably not 100% accurate. I'm curious to know what numbers you are getting. I just want a way to validate Oneplus is indeed giving me a 3300 mAh battery. Is it even possible to do?
Is there a better battery app I can use? Let me know...Thanks.

This app is giving you an estimate based on what it thinks your battery is charged to. Because dash charging is different and the battery itself doesn't process its own energy because the wall adapter does, the reported capacity will always be off calibration. Its the same way with my phone on a software based mAh tracker. With my battery tester i have in my garage my capacity is reported as 3300 but my actual capacity is 3221 due to the battery wear. This is my OP5 btw not the 5T.

If your battery life starts declining significantly such as losing 45 minutes to an hour or around a 8-10% overall idle drain in 24 hours u might have a faulty battery.

It does last all day, however, I just don't seem to be getting the SOT numbers that others here are claiming to get. Also, I had a 64gb that I returned for the 128gb version and the first phone seemed to score better on the AccuBattery app than the 128gb version, which leads me to believe there is an inferior battery in the 128gb version.
