A coworker brought me this saying he just bought it brand new from one of his friends. He dropped it and damaged the screen and wants me to fix it. But I have bought 2 different screens and neither one fits. I tried the 10 inch and 7 inch, they were either too large or too small respectively. Here are pictures of it tore apart and I have had no luck finding part numbers online.
Would anyone be so kind as to help me identify this thing?

Yeh that brings up the Original Samsung Galaxy TAB and I ordered the screen for it, which is 7 inches. The screen this thing has is bigger than that. From corner to corner it measures 9 inches also this thins comes with an A23 dual core processor and the original TAB comes with a 1 GHz Samsung Exynos 3110 processor.
This thing has me stumped.
Edit: I am starting to think this is a fake after doing some reading. The Allwinner A23 Dual Core processor is the smoking gun i think. I cannot find anything but cheapo junk tablets that run this processor. I cant imagine Samsung using something this cheap in their devices. Does anyone else agree with me?

Camera placement is wrong lettering is horizontal on back plate (Samsung tab is vertical lettering accross bottom of backplate) components are wrong as well so my guess is it is a poor attempt at a knockoff.
I can see this is a fake Tab with cheap chipset Allwinner A23, which used to arm on noname China devices.

Don't need to try it - the devices have two different form factors. Their physical dimensions aren't even close. (iPad2 is 4:3, SGT10.1 is 16:9.)

You are right, but by all technicalities, the majority of the 10.1 inch android tabs are 16:10...
Ipad 2 is ~241mm x ~186mm while the gtab10.1 is ~256mm x ~173mm
some sleeves *might* work, but others might not.
Also, this is a Samsung branded sleeve designed specifically for the Galaxy Tab 10.1

The problem is the length in landscape mode. The Tab is much longer and if you get a tight fitting cash for an iPad, or even a semi loose one it still wont fit because it is a centimeter and a half longer.

Since I think this is the largest phone for sale at least in the US and it appears we are creeping up in size I ask "how big would be too big"? I think I saw some reference somewhere that there is a 5 inch phone. Would a 5 inch phone be too big? How about 6 inches?
I have jokingly put Galaxy Tab 10 inch up to my ear but it isn't inconceivable that phone functionality could be incorporated into a tablet. The radios are already a part of the data connected tablets. I use a BT headset and have for many years so using a large device as a phone wouldn't take getting used to. Some people still like sticking a phone up to their ear but could you or would you use a large device as a phone?
I suppose the question would then become how small a tablet would be considered too small.
I think this should print out at close to a 6 inch phone.
The Epic 4G touch is actually slightly (very slightly) smaller than the Infuse 4G.
I think 4.5 inch screen without any borders on the sides is the absolutely perfect dimension. That's what I see the being the most popular in the future to come. 4.5 inch screen flush with the side of the phone. The ET4g touch gets close.
This is as big as a phone should get. Actually, I prefer the size of the EVO 3D, if only it were as thin and light as the SGS2 it would be the perfect form factor.
I love big screen phones. Maybe 5 inch Max as long as the whole front was screen.
The Evo3D Killer!!!
Isn't the dell streak a 5in screen in the us

When the OG Droid came out, I thought 3.7 was enormous and I laughed at the pitiful Iphone users stuck with 3.5. When the 4.0 and 4.3 inch phones started to roll out, I opted for the Fascinate since I thought 4.0 was just right and 4.3 would feel too monstrous. Now with the GS2, 4.5 feels ideal. I'll probably keep thinking that until a slew of 5 inch phones start hitting the market and I'll adjust.

It's funny.. I had the my touch 4g which was 3.7, I was happy to get a 4 inch screen on the g2x. I thought 4 was perfect perfect side and that 4.3 would be a little too big for me But when I got the sensation I thought 4.3 was perfect, then I had/have the evo 3d so when I heard the E4GT was 4.52 I thought again, "that's too big for me.. 4.3 is perfect" Then I held a E4GT and fell in love. It really wasn't as monstrous as I imagined it would be. I mean if you think about it .22 inches bigger isn't all that much
I think this is about as big as I would want my phone to be, but I can't helping thinking if it were heavier I probably wouldn't enjoy it as much.
I think we will hit a limit at 4.5-5inches as far as phones people are willing to hold up to their ear.
We may see sales of tablets larger than that will phone functionality built in but thsoe that use them will only do so with bluetooth headsets.
The Galaxy Note does look pretty nice and at 5.3 inches gets close to 6 inches. It is small enough to fit in a shirt pocket or jacket breast pocket. Not quite as big as a tablet. I like the idea of a stylus having spent 6 years with Treos.
I use a bt headset. But I couldn't imagine carrying a 10.1 holster around on my pants when I take the dog for a walk...
And no... it's not fitting in my pocket either...
Thoughts: Please don't read the above in the wrong way. I just reread and... nvm
Anything above 5 is beyond pushing it. I'm not even sure if I wanted a 4.52 phone...
I think E4GT is as big as I would want a phone too. I almost think it's a little too big, but then again, I thought that about my EVO 4G before but got used to it.
3 years ago it would have been 3.7"
2 years ago it would have been 4"
Last year it would have been 4.3"
This year is 4.5" and soon 4.65"
Next year is the Samsung Note at 5.3"
The coming generation of edge-to-edge displays will allow them to get at 5.5" display into a case the size of our Epic 4G Touch.
So why is Apple about to release another phone that is less than 4" if no one wants them so little?

I just bought my pro 8.4 less than 2 weeks ago and some how I broke the lcd.. The screen looks perfect till its turn on.. Then u see cracks and the screen all messed up. Now what do I do? Can I get parts. Where and how much or is there a place that does it reasonably priced? I can't even find YouTube videos on replacing the lcd on the pro 8.4. Please any suggestions would be really appreciated.. I loved the tablet and want it saved!
This doesn't answer your question, but did you by any chance purchase with a credit card? I've noticed many have accident/theft coverage for up to 120 days after purchase. If not, you can call Samsung to find out options. Snap the backcover off and go to town. It'll be a blast. These days everything you need to take off to get to the screen is just plugs that snap right off their port.

That's what I found too. The digitizer isn't broke, the actual LCD is. I'll have to call Samsung to see my options. I think i'm ass-out for a while cuz i really wouldn't think the lcd is available yet and if it is its gonna be almost as much as the tablet! Sux! At least i have my Galaxy Note 10.1 2012 .. gt-n8013 with now kk with air command on it. The screen on the 8.4 pro was a billion times sharper and it was way faster and i love the leather back! Thans for your help.. Anything else comes up that can help just please let me know.
Thanks again guys!

If anything else that comes up that will help me out, let me know

Oh, off topic question, how many posts do i have to make to be able to post in development sections of the forums, i usually have alot to offer in the development sections but don't have the privileges to post there. What do i have to do to make it possible for me to help in these sections, i have alot to offer!
I'm pretty sure they are glued together on the assembly in your tablet too. In order to separate them you'd need a heat gun and a lot of patience. But it's doable. You'd be able to clean the adhesive off the screen gently afterwards. But yes, to save room the manufacturers these days glue the two parts together, hence why they are also sold as glued together. But I've seen people separate them with a heat gun before. And yes, it is a mess, no matter what. Buying the full assembly would be much more fun and also faster.
Thinking about getting a tablet, preferably in the 8" range and that is capable of using apps like Manga Creator and Autodesk Sketchbook pro.
So far, I've seen the note has the pen included. I have a Wacom pen but I haven't see people using the Tab S as a drawing tablet.
However, I've seen lots of people using the Note 10.1 as a drawing tablet.
For those people who have used a stylus for sketching purposes, what do you think of it?
Is it possible to get a reply or at least point me towards the answer?

If you are looking to use a Wacom pen, the Tab S is no good for you because it doesn't have a Wacom digitiser.
You need a Note, but I wouldn't buy any Note tablet as the line is really due a refresh.

I couldn't recommend because I've never seen it. It's also a Windows 8 tablet.
The new Surface 3 (not the pro) is supposedly good for drawing, but the base price doesn't include the stylus.

Problem with the NVidia is that it is too focused on gaming, and the technology is not quite a digitizer, not even close.
The deal breaker is that it lacks pressure sensitivity.

I will have to say you are not right on that issue. I have a Samsung Note 4 and Note Pro 12.2 along with the Shield Tablet. The Shield Direct Stylus 2 is very close to the performance digitizing of the Note devices. It does have pressure sensitivity. Also the Nvidia K1 processor is much faster than the Note 4's Snapdragon 805 or the Note Pro 12.2's Exynos 5420. Here is a good article on the Direct Stylus 2.
http://www.slashgear.com/nvidia-shield-tablet-directstylus-2-review-29338977/
NVIDIA’s DirectStylus 2 is arguably a similar compromise, but it’s a clever one. The pen itself is regular plastic with an angled rubber tip, and the magic is all in the software and algorithms. Running the touch processing through the Tegra K1 means it’s able to differentiate in real-time between the nib, your fingers, and your palm resting on the display. DirectStylus 2 can even feign pressure sensitivity, by measuring the contact point as the tip deforms against the screen

I don't see how this can come even close to a digitizer for real drawing, it still just a thick pen that measures pressure by getting even thicker. But I haven't used it of course. Have you ever worked with an Wacom tablet on Windows (Photoshop for example), nrage23? I am curios if you maybe just find the Nvidia pen competive because most Android drawing software is limited.

XP-Pen Star G640 Sketch Pad Tablet
Sketchbook is a great introductory program to get used to digital drawing. If you get serious about it, or just want a more robust drawing program, I'd recommend Clip Studio Paint. It's by far the best drawing program I've ever used. Think of the power of Photoshop, mixed with the realistic functionality of Sketchbook.
I can get pressure sensitivity to work with it. Using my XP-Pen Star G640 Sketch Pad Tablet ( xp-pen.com/product/51.html ) , latest driver. my XP-Pen Star G640 have a ~6"x4" active area, and I found that all of my stroke fit in there with ease, so I can manage with that size and save desk space.
I'm a bit confused to why the Nexus 7 is no longer being sold. Google has nothing on the market that replaces it. No other manufacturer seems to offer anything similar.
I want a 7" tablet with decent specs. There are none anywhere.
The brand new Samsung Tab A 7", only has a 800p display, 8gb of storage and a weak cpu/gpu. The nexus 7 2013 is 3 years old but has much better specs.
There are numerous cheap 7" tablets that don't have specs that can compare to FLO.
FYI I don't want an 8" tablet, they're too wide in profile mode. I love 7" tablets because they have the profile of a e-reader and fit comfortably in only one hand.
Samsung Tab S2 8" has good specs but for some reason they didn't make a 7" model.
Can anyone point me to a 7" tablet with specs that can compare to Flo. I wish I could just buy another Nexus 7 2013, but google stopped selling them for some reason.

I have the same dilema as you. I've searched and searched and can't find anything in the same form factor, price range, and spec range to warrant a upgrade. Kind of sad that this part of the tablet market has died since the launch of the N7. I thought there would be a boom of tablets in that price/size range. Even tablets that are coming out this year or so aren't as good as this 3 year old tablet. Most everything is moving to the 8 inch form factor and seem to be trying to copy the iPad Mini more than anything. I'm really hoping for a refresh of the N7 in some way with this next round of Nexus devices.

Thanks, there never seems to be any that ship to Canada. Same with other used sites.
Oh well, I just ordered a screen and digitizer with frame from Amazon, hopefully I can fix it.
Repair
Why not repair it?
A dead N7 has a bad battery probably. N7 will not boot on external power alone.
If the notification light blinks a few times while you connect a charger, then the battery is faulty. You can confirm it by measuring the battery's voltage.
A replacement battery is ~$20 on eBay.
