Don't need to try it - the devices have two different form factors. Their physical dimensions aren't even close. (iPad2 is 4:3, SGT10.1 is 16:9.)

You are right, but by all technicalities, the majority of the 10.1 inch android tabs are 16:10...
Ipad 2 is ~241mm x ~186mm while the gtab10.1 is ~256mm x ~173mm
some sleeves *might* work, but others might not.
Also, this is a Samsung branded sleeve designed specifically for the Galaxy Tab 10.1

I am very close to ordering one just because its an option i might be interested later on if the bookcover case falls apart...

The problem is the length in landscape mode. The Tab is much longer and if you get a tight fitting cash for an iPad, or even a semi loose one it still wont fit because it is a centimeter and a half longer.

Just wanted to share this dock i found on ebay. Looks way better than the samsung one as it has a simpler design. Looks like an iphone dock.

If you look at the picture closely you can see that's an international galaxy s2 in the dock our phones have different dimensions than that of the other versions of the galaxy so that dock may not fit your phone at all. A good trick for looking for the proper accessories for our phones, since there are so many versions of it, is including "t989" in any search on eBay or Amazon you do.

Well the dock is made to fit our phones, so of course it will fit the international version as well. I saw a couple of reviews on youtube and the s2 was able to mount with a case. Thats good enough space to fit the extra thickness of our phones. I ordered 2, I will give feedback once I receive them.

Please do. I'm intersted & would like one at the house
I have had this dock (actually 3 of them now) for a few months. Used it with my AT&T Samsung Infuse then with my AT&T GS2 and now with my T-Mo T989.
Fits and works perfectly with the T989 even with the Diztronics case on it. Well worth the price.

Correct, and it will work with just about any brand "bar type" phone with the jack centered on the bottom. You either use or don't use the rubber insert that comes with it to adjust to size or with or without case. For $12 it's a great buy. If you want it faster there are some US sellers selling it for around $20.
This looks great !! Quick question though. Do you have an hdmi adapter for yours ? I'm looking to basically be able to charge/hdmi out by dropping it in a cradle lol
1 more question. Does the phone feel sturdy enough in it? I'd like to get 1 to modify into a car mount too
Thanks !

GelaSkins are now available for the One X! I'm going through all the artwork now, it's so hard to choose :silly:
It seems like too much work just for a skin that will eventually peal and look aged lol.

Gelaskins don't have anything to do with those crappy fakes ones that you by from ebay.
I had one in my previous iPhone that that still looks like new after more than 2 years.
Gelaskins are expensive but they worth the money they cost. A really good option for my HTC One X.
Agree, have used few devices with GelaSkins. It is very resilient, worth the money IMO.
I'll give the One X a miss, as I like the look of the phone, and I have photo slide shows as wallpaper so a skin will look out of place.
Don't waste your money. I just got mine, they don't line up with the pogo pins/camera/3.5mm jack/simcard tray.
After working it a bit, I made it fit ok (but not perfect), and the pogo pins are completely covered...

Which version of the One X do you have? Is it the version with LTE (Snapdragon S4) or the Tegra 3 (3G only) version?
I have the tegra 3 version, the skin covers half the sim tray and none of the pogo pins go through the holes that were meant for the pins. There are 5 cutout holes for them but it just shows the back of the phone through. Also, the skin covers almost half of the audio jack.

Ouch! Thanks for the heads up. I am planning on getting the One XL on Telstra in Australia (LTE version) and I knew the pogo pins were in a different location. By what you have said, the Gelaskin might have been made for the LTE version (AT&T One X, Rogers One X, Telstra One XL) and the pin holes would be closer to the bottom of the device (see here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1631225). Would you say that is a fair assessment?
Curious if anyone has one or knows of a manufacturer that is selling them. I would like to start running and biking with a bit more comfort as I find the screen to large to keep in my pocket when doing these activities.
Thanks!
You might look into the Tune Belt AB85. There's a video on YouTube where the guys shows how it holds a Galaxy Note so surely the S3 would fit. The AB86 is designed for the Galaxy Nexus so you might look into that too. I own a Tune Belt that works with my Galaxy S2 and I found it to be a good product.

Funny you mentioned Tunebelt, I just received a message from one of their customer reps that the Galaxy Nexus model should fit the S3 perfectly.
Can be purchased directly or through Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Tune-Belt-Arm...2572943&sr=8-1&keywords=Tunebelt+galaxy+nexus
Similarly I managed to make my Droid X Tunebelt accommodate the S3 (after some minor alterations )

Has anyone tried the AB86 model? I have a smaller TuneBelt that I used with my HTC Desire, and there is no way that you can get headphones in with the S3 going in to the holder top-first (as I'd want to use it), as the neoprene covers exactly where the headphones are. There are only gaps in the corners and middle. It would work going in bottom-first, as then the headphone access would be at the open end.
Does the AB86 model improve this to allow headphone access from either end with the S3?
I've been happy with the build quality of the TuneBelt. Another cheaper but similar looking alternative that I've seen is from iGadgitz http://www.igadgitz.com/products/fi...for-samsung-galaxy-s3-iii-i.html#.UEi0oo1lQs4
That's specifically for the S3, so should definitely have the correct headphone access, as well as labelling where buttons are. Has anybody got any feedback on this?
I wasn't too happy with how the TuneBelt fit, so I returned it and picked up a Belkin EaseFit Plus. It's a much better fit for both my arm and the phone. My only complaint is that, despite it's claims, it is most decidedly not sweat-proof. Maybe it is from the front, but not so at all from the back. The TuneBelt seemed to do a somewhat better job at keeping the phone dry from sweat, probably because the fabric is heavier/thicker.
Is there one out or could one from Tab 10.1 be used instead? Accessories selection seems rather light at the moment so I thought I'd ask. Thanks.
I used a jigsaw to take off the corners of the tab 10.1 desktop dock (bought it for $3.82 @ hhgregg). It works great.

Can you take a close up pic of the modification u made? I'm not beyond a little hardware hackery to make an available dock work.
Do you guys think this Tab 2 10.1 Desk Dock would work with Note 10.1 by any chance?

The old universal dock EDD-D100 fits. It has an audio jack, but no HDMI builtin. But you can link the HDMI-Adapter EPL-3PHP between the power supply and the dock to add HDMI output to the dock.
I haven't tested the audio jack, but HDMI output works.
(As a new user, I'm not allowed to post links here yet, but you can easily google the items with their product number.)
Here's a few picks of both the regular desktop dock and the keyboard dock. The keyboard dock required some sanding to get the note to fit but the desktop dock just required trimming around the edges. The tools I used were a jigsaw and some sandpaper.

I find it disappointing that Samsung doesn't create a dock that has HDMI out so you don't have a cluster of cables/adapters. USB ports would be nice too.

Seems I saw this keyboard/dock for the Note 10.1 on the european site. I have the one for the Tab10.1 and am still deciding whether to mod it or not.
I also want a replacement for my samsung folio/keyboard.....no mod will make that fit right
In the meantime, bought a folio/keyboard off Amazon by iLuv. Unlike on the iLuv site, the seller on amazon lied and said it was for the note as well as tab 10.1 and tab 2 10.1. It works but really doesn't fit right and I will probably return it.
Early adopter hell, eh?
Yea I'm just buying a sleeve for now until we have some quality keyboard cases out

Did you take the black part off to cut it? There doesn't seem to be an easy way to take this thing apart unless there are screws hidden under the friction pads (which I'd like to avoid removing). Can you specify where and how much you had to sand to get it to fit? I trimmed the edges quite a bit with my Proxxon (like a Dremmel) but it doesn't seem to want to go down all of the way and I'm not sure what's keeping it from connecting.

I was just going to edit my post with that...let's see what kind of damage I can do now =)
Update: It seems that the "sanding" (or carving with a Proxxon) needs to be done at the bottom of the tray. I kind of regret carving off a few layers from the back support.
The additional work need for this mod beyond the giving it more horizontal space only makes me dislike those litigious jerks at apple even less. The squared off edges have to be a result of that for this and the tab 2.
Finally got around to modding mine. used a dremel. Didn't just chop the ends off, as I was trying to preserve the look. but having to dig that groove out was a real pain and lead to various other scuffs. Would love to have a fresh go at it after learning what it took, to do it more cosmetically pleasing, but with the note in it, it still looks pretty good
The tab desktop dock works great bought one at best buy no modifications were needed for the Note 10.1

I,too, am using my old galaxy 10.1 universal dock for my note. Works well.
I just cut the edges of the guide(that black thing) from the P7500 keyboard dock but that connector doesn't fully go inside the tablet, any ideas?
Does the HDMI from the Tab media docks work with the Note?

There's a thread here for our device that is discussing full sized styluses. I got to looking around in online stores, and one thing keeps showing up in tech specs of all styluses I find: "pi." 5.5pi, 6.5pi, 6pi, 8pi, etc.
What does pi mean and how does it relate to our tablet?
If you buy a stylus for this tablet, must it be a certain pi, greater than or equal to a certain pi, etc? Or will all pi work, but with varying accuracy or something?
I have searched for my answer already, but cant get any results, so sorry if this is a stupid question.

pi is measuring unit for the TIP of the stylus pen, a lower number is better accuracy, more details but the screen(digitizer) must support it . The newest Galaxy 5 is 2.5pi and the Note 10.1 is 6.5pi. Hope the info help.

Did you mean our Note 10.1 or the older version?
(I REALLY wish that Samsung had called the 2014ed something different. It's so different in dimensions and hardware from the older 10.1, and it makes shopping for it hard! I can only imagine being a seller of accessories too. ... anyway....)
If the 2014 10.1 is 6.5pi, then I am guessing that getting, let's say, a 2.5pi S-Pen wouldn't work? But getting an 8.5pi probably would?
I guess I'm just a tiny bit confused still. If one were to buy a different S-Pen stylus for the 2014 ed Note 10.1, what pi range(s) should be considered? ex: 6-8.5pi.

either 6.5 or 8 or whatever would work, but it's kind of what do you need it for? for fine writing and architect drawing you need a small pi, with 8pi It would be hard to connect a 2 thin lines, it's like a different when you try to write with a crayon or a pencil. with a huge tip usually for older device where you use the pen for tab on small icon or swipe the screen, not design for drawing or writing, but it stills work. My best recommendation is get the one that design specific for your device, remember, the tip is one thing but you also need pressure sensitive which you only could find best with the Galaxy Note series. If you buy a same pi pen from another third party and not design for the Note, you still could write and draw but you can't control the pressure sensitive aspect. Heck, you could write with your finger too if you want, but will not as thin and pretty as use a S pen!

Yeah, I was looking at doing drawings, so I guess 6.5pi would be what was needed since it's the same as the stock S-Pen. I'm not actually going to buy anything right now, but was mostly just curious because there are full-sized styluses on the market for tablets like the (I think) the Surface, and supposedly, they would work for the Note too.

For writing or drawing, you could buy one with the eraser(just like a pencil, one end with tip and the other end with eraser), kind of cool and convenience. It will save you time.
