I found which ROMs have SPEN support in the Note 2 forum, but I didn't find anything in the Note 3 forum especially for T-Mobile.
So, is there a list or does know which of the custom rooted 4.4.2 ROMs have SPEN support?
I found this post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2658959
However, it doesn't say exactly which ones are TouchWiz and/or support SPEN.
I'm looking for something debloated, and stable. I know CM doesn't have SPEN support so I'm trying to find something that does.
Any help would be most appreciated.
Thank you in advance.

As a rule all AOSP, AOKP or any other variation of CM build has to/ be labeled as such. Any that are not labled. NA2-NB7 are all touchwiz roms.

Thank you but your response is a bit confusing...
What do you mean, "Any that are NOT labeled. NA2-NB7 are all touchwiz"???
what do you mean any that are not labeled. I ask because the way you wrote it I am wondering what you mean, any that are not labeled AOSP/AOKP or any that ARE labeled NA2-NB7 are touchwiz?
The one sentence in the middle is what is confusing. Any that are not labeled. Labeled as what?
Could you please clarify?
Thank you.

Hey guys, I was just wondering if it was possible to add (or install) TouchWiz 4.0 on AOKP Jelly Bean?
If so, what would be the process? I really miss TouchWiz but LOVE Jelly Bean.

Might be possible of someone were to dedicate their life to it, but no one cares about it enough to attempt.
You are just going to have to wait for either ports of the international jelly bean release or official or leaked versions of i747 jellybean.

No. The Ariel ROM is built off the Samsung TouchWiz stock ROM and is still Ice Cream Sandwich. Sense is not involved, that's HTC.

Oh, okay. My bad my good sir.
Touchwiz is an integrated framework. Samsung downloads the source from Google, modifies it, adds their own BS and bloat, recompiles it, then distributed it. The Touchwiz modifications reach deep into the system libraries. They also add their own libraries. None of which is present in an AOSP ROM. AOSP ROMs are compiled from the stock Google source so none of the library modifications or added libraries exist for any of the Touchwiz apps to work off of.

I do UTSE. I just couldn`t find anything concrete. Plus, logically, if you ask the questions that YOU want to know and you get the answers its better than going through 50 pages with only one person having the same problem as you.
ok i have a gripe. i'm very new to all this stuff. recently rooted and flashed and all that jazz. i come to this forum to get help and to research before i do anything stupid and brick my phone. and for the most part all my questions are answered without me ever having to post a thing. so thank you so very much. now having said that... some of the senior guys, you know who you are, the experienced "i'm too smart to deal with you morons" posters. give us a break. if you dont want to be bothered with noob questions here's a thought... dont reply. or maybe skip over the thread. please stop making us inexperienced people who are looking for advice and help too intimidated to post anything. i've gone through 5 threads in the last 15 minutes with some jerk trying to prove to us how stupid and moronic we are. if you don't want to help then shutup and carry on with your day. i'm sure you learned how to be polite and have some manners back in kindergarden.
thanks and sorry for the rant.
Does anyone want to form a team for MIUI porting? The ROM I have is working almost flawlessly, missing just signal. Everything else works (as far as I know). Anyone willing to help?
By the way, for helping me progress thus far, I couldn't have done it without xboxfanj. I'm a noob and am just getting the hang of this, hence, xboxfanj helped with most of this stuff.
MIUI is an awesome ROM allowing customizable themes that can change literally everything. You can change the status bar, lockscreen, home screen, and more all in just one app called themes. Plus, the ROM is super fast and has a lot of toggles, and much more to come with the help needed. Please, this ROM is one of my favorites, if you guys can help, it is much appreciated.
I can't help, but I'm curious as to what base you're using..CM or TouchWiz?

You are incorrect in your answer, it's already been done. So, my question still stands to the OP. As far as I know, patchrom currently only works with ICS however. Maybe you have sources beyond mine. Here's something to look into though. https://github.com/MiCode/patchrom

ah i see actually he just bundled some apps from tw like back when i had a galaxy nexus they had a touchwiz theme that included the launcher and s voice and some widgets. he said that he wanted to add some sammy features to miui so he did lol see tw roms use a different framework and most apps wouldnt work on miui however some people have taken there time to port over launchers and apps and put them there roms.
its like the opposite of putting https://play.google.com/store/apps/...?t=W251bGwsMSwyLDEsImNvbS5taXVpLm1paG9tZTIiXQ.. on a touchwiz rom
They have touchwiz based miui on the international note 2, and the at&t note 2. I had it running on my sprint note 2 the other day, but was unable to get the radios to function properly. I had signal, but couldnt select the network I wanted it on and apns werent fuctioning properly. Miui v4 is supposed to be based on stock rom, not aosp, its just easier to port aosp than incorporate it into stock.

I used CM beta (before alpha 1). xboxfanj helped me get partial signal working. There was 3g at first, but then something about sim card activation came up, and then i pressed dismiss..and well.. that made me lose signal. After that I got signal but with emergency calls only.

Indeed we do have a starting point. However, I used the updated version of MIUI for the int'l model to port. It's literally almost done. Only flaw is signal as far as I can see at the moment.
If I remember correctly, aren't all of the Note 2's basically the same thing with the exception of the modems and Networks? (GSM vs CDMA?) Isn't the International version using GSM?

I had that issue before, but I decided to undo the changes and just stick to emergency calls only at the moment. However, I didn't use the aosp version. It's not as easy as just changing stuff. Once you do so, another problem will occur. It's so annoying >.< That's why I've asked to form a team. I have 2 others so far. Xboxfanj and lbxmobbin & they do great work. We're literally almost done.. But don't ask for an ETA, just know that it's coming VERY VERY soon.

Cool, let me know if you need any help. I got the aosp version on the international to boot today after I ported it over our cm10, and get a signal, but after a reboot no service.

Hoping not to offend anyone,
but I just got my note and I'm wondering about the following (can't find the explanation in the rom topics or anywere else)
Are there 4.2 roms out that include the S-pen functionality?
Or will the pen be useless when I flash one of them?
Does the rom need to be TW based to use the S-Pen or are that specific apps that have to be included?
I was also wondering if I flash a plain rom, can I add the S-pen functionality myself or does it really has to be baked in?
Sorry about all those questions, but I come from an SII and didn't have to worry about such things.
Thanks in advance!
First you need to read forum rules.. If you are asking questions you should post in Question and answers sections
If you want Spen features, you need Tw as it use proprietary code embedded in TW framework.. Every TW custom rom has the Spen features but neither of the AOSP does and won't ever have them
Tapatalking on my n7100
spen will be shown as mouse pointer on aosp roms thus it will work like a mouse but no spen features will work like airview etc.
Sorry about the wrong forum, I guess I misread the Q&A part.
So that probably means waiting until Samsung releases 4.2 for the note so the rom builders can base on that.
I was hoping it was possible to add the necessary files to an AOSP rom, guess not. Thanks!

Thanks for replying,
I have been looking and was quite sure the 4.2 roms wouldn't have those features. The only thing I wasn't sure about was whether the features could be installed afterwards as an addition or not. I'm guessing they aren't.

Alright, I am not saying that its bad. I have been flashing custom roms for last 3-4 yrs now but on my prevous phone it made sense since it was stuck on Gingerbread. The custom roms gave me 4.2.2 which was hell of a jump. But with note 2 .. all the custom features that are built in stock roms are pretty much gone with flashing custom roms. I see these as going backwards. The spen functionality is completely gone. Yes, you can install some custom apps but they dont have the same features as the stock. Also the sensor features, built in browser, multi window .. all are gone. I have been using paranoid 3.1 for about 2 months now and didnt really see any difference.. other than the tablet mode which is neat but nothing useful per se. pie controls were hard to use, and pretty buggy. Would disappear every now n then. Its fancy but not practical.
So now my question is.. whats are some of the key features that you are missing in stock and you get in custom that you are willing to let go of some useful features in stock? I am definitely missing something here and would like to learn from you..
I am thinking of going back to stock and rooting it ..

Sounds like you meant to ask why flash a AOSP rom not just a "custom rom" because most tw roms still have all the functionality you are saying is lost. To answer your question that is the great thing about Android. ..choice you have the choice to install it or not.

You can tell very easily first off by the screenshots aosp and tw do not look the same. Secondly with aosp you have to flash gapps. Third they are in two seperate forums. That is just a few of the many ways you can tell.

If you see mention of a firmware revision like ma7 or LJC, then you're dealing with a Twiz rom.
However with AOSP roms... The spen does work in its basic capability.

Because Paranoid Android & Tablet Mod are the best thing to happen to this Note! Also because "Whoomp" Rom is based on stock but much better because it gives you options. However I do understand your criticism, whats different this time is "Touch Jizz" doesn't suck as bad as previous versions and its actually becoming a bit of a highlight with its built in features.
However we will always want to flash roms because like beautiful women "there's always someone tired of F_____g them"! Something new even if isn't superior!:good:
