Is this common in smartphones or is dual-lens camera specific for just P930?
Tried to google and found links with specs http://www.lg.com/us/cell-phones/lg-P930-nitro http://www.androidunstoppable.com/2011/lg-p930-nitro-hd/ http://www.buyonsalecheap.com/att-lg-nitro-hd-p930-4g-android-v234-phone-unlocked_p1155.html saying 'Dual-Lens 8 MP Autofocus Camera with LED Flash'
And nothing more. Is dual-lens any better than in iPhone or wot?
I think it is just referring to the fact that the phone has a front-facing camera in addition to the standard lens on the back. I think.
Marketing hype? Just like 3D toothpaste?...
From what I saw it is not better then iPhone4s camera, although it's better then most other phones to date.
I've done some comparison of our pic qualities with an iphone 4 quality, and we are definitely better than the iphone 4, except at night shots, we get quite some noise, which I can use a program on PC to clear away noise and voila, it's better than the iphone 4 again.
Why I keep saying iphone 4? Cuz I know the 4s has a newer lens (or improved software algorithm?) which produces better pics than the regular 4. So I don't know how ours stand against it.

This weekend I'll be able compare both, but so you know, iPhone4s camera can produce full size photos at the speed you tap on screen and I mean like 10fps! (Nitro max at 0.3 - 0.2fps?) Photos sure won't be crisp and nice at that rate, but the fact how fast it is - is amazing.

Yeah, the speed of the camera on our phone is just pathetic. I know it's partially my SD card, but we need to start fixing the issues on this phone lol.

So? was it successful?
Aquariuz, what program on the PC do you use to clean up pictures?
As the title suggests, just curious if there is any difference in the camera, lens e.t.c. compared to Note 1?
I've searched on google and can't seem to find anything on it - I know there is a difference in shutter speed etc, but wondering about the hardware side of things, because my SG3 shoots far better photos than my note!:victory:
Not really.just the type of the camera.its the same camera as on the galaxy s3 but with more features and improved
Sent from my beautiful phone powered by the best OS ever
I don't know what the differences are but the camera on my wife's S3 is significantly better than in my Note.

If the camera is the same as the Galaxy S III's, then there's going to be no noticeable improvement in low-lighting conditions from the original Galaxy Note (on its original settings). Just additional camera features to utilize it differently. The camera optics are a joke on the Galaxy Note II/Galaxy S III - it's sad when a crappy little 1 year old iPhone 4S and even an iPod Touch from 2 years ago takes better pictures in environments that aren't well-lit.
darn.. i was really hoping for slightly better optics. is the GS III really not as good as the iphone 4s when it comes to low light?

Ipod Touch?! Are you serious?! The camera is a mess I don´t know what someone may expect from a smartphone...but pics on my S3 are *goddamned* extremely good...even better than the pics of my girlfriends 4S! It may appear that the new Nokia line will challenge this experience, as they seem to bring some really good functions...but till now, I can´t imagine I ever saw better pics on a SP.
I used the Night mode setting and took a picture at night under a poorly lit street light. The pic came out quite nice
Actually the only thing that is holding me back from fully commiting myself to the Note II is the camera quality, will wait till tomorrow after the new iphone is announced and will decide accordingly.
It was supposed to come with Sony's new 13 mega pixel camera but idk what happened and now the lg Q is first phone to come out with it..

You DO realize that the Galaxy S III camera has the SAME optics as the iPhone 4S. They take virtually IDENTICAL pictures.
....you may be doing it wrong.

I'd rather have 8MP and a better lens than 13MP.
8MP are more than enough, that doesn't say much about picture quality. More MP will just make the image files bigger, you won't see any real difference.

+1, you are absolutely right. 8mp is more than enough to take good fotos, is much more important to have a good lens and a good camera that having more mb and take big foto files to fill your sd card faster.

The Optimus G sports a mounted 13 megapixel camera, making it one of the highest resolution shooters we have seen on an Android device. LG’s camera is said to use Sony’s new stacked CMOS image sensor, which was slated to appear in the Samsung Galaxy Note II but then killed when Sony couldn’t meet capacity.*We will have to wait and see some sample photos from the LG Optimus G, but it has the technology to deliver some of the best phone pictures ever.
Also 1080p @ 60fps

Here's to hoping the Note II will feature a slow motion recoding feature.

I sure hope the camera is great on this phone cause it will be a very important factor for me.
Lol all this talk about rather having a great lens and 8MP.
Why not have a great lens and 13MP? .... Xperia T style?

You better don't post when you don't know.. cam on s3 is almost same that of iPhone 4s, forget abt. iPod stuffs...
I saw pictures sample from gsmarena that note2's photos are slightly better then s3's, well focused and little more details, I like it. They slightly improved from s3.
I also read about how Samsung is now developing their own camera technology for their smart phones. They just built a 13 Mega pixel with new lens technology.. they said it should be coming to future Samsung smart phones.

So I made a post (not thread) about the front facing camera on the note 3 in the cm11 rom thread.
I noticed the kit kat camera did a way better job with low light and good saturation. On the note 3, the camera can have a tan deadish color .. The quality on the kit cat cam was HTC one quality or iPhone quality
The issue with the kit kat camera was that the picture was blurry after you snap the shot so it's unusable for me. Being as though the quality could be so good in the kit kat cam and have trouble when it's not really light out on the touchwiz camera tells me that it's the software with the camera app that Samsung provides.
I actually tried a bunch of other camera apps out and none of them seem to produce great quality like the kit kat one did because the highest they go in resolution is 1.3mp when this camera is 2.1mp.
Anyone notice this?

hey guys !
My friend just bought an m5 a couple of weeks ago and he's experiencing a strange thing with the camera. The front camera is working just fine ,but the back camera is taking blurred pictures. When he focuses on something everything is sharp and good right until pic is taken and processed, the results are blurry pictures . Sometimes the camera takes normal sharp pics but the majority of the times its blurred ones, so I'm asking you guys : is it a common thing among all m5 devices or am I missing something in the camera setting ? could it be a software problem or is it more likely to be a hardware defect ?
I'd really like to have your opinions on this as I was the one to convince him to get a Sony device instead of a Samsung even though I'm a note user myself. The device is not rooted , running the latest stock Android Lollipop 5.1 .
Thanks in advance !

I find that the rear camera cannot focus beyond about 10m.
To take the best possible shot focus on something about 1m away in full daylight, if still bad, then definitely a problem.

I am observing the same thing with my Xperia M5 Dual- OK with close up shots only.
Does everyone think this is normal? Or should I be worried that I'd miss capturing important moments?
Thanks in advance for your feedback.
I use Snap camera to avoid such things.
I had a similar problem. In my case the problem was that the hybrid autofocus did not work and only one of the two autofocus methods was working. The result was that roughly half of the times pictures were out of focus (randomly). I solved the problem sending the device to repair. They changed the camera and now everything is working fine. I think this is a quite common problem, since I read many posts reporting a similar problem. By the way: in my case using for instance camera fv5 resulted in good pictures all the time, since this software is capable of using only the working part of the hybrid autofocus. The problem was that focusing was very slow.
Can anyone confirm if the hybrid autofocus problem exists on M5 from 2016 (5.1 Lollipop or it happens just on 6.0.1)? If not sure about year, there is a sticker under SIM slot, use a needle or something similar to pull it. It should be 16WXX (XX is week the phone was manufactured).
Dear Developers, I experience the same main camera problem. The images are vague after 2 meters. I used fv5 app. But, still same quality. In fv5 app, the maximum resolution shows 3.1Mp(2048*1536). But, front cam shows good images and the back one very poor.*
What should I do..? I bought this new M5dual from Amazon yesterday.
I'm not 100% convinced about how good this camera is.
I heard the mate 9 had an update which made the camera better. Will this apply to us as well?
my note 7 camera was 100 times better. I'm quite disappointed with this.
The mate 9 with update was better. Had both.
I have the Mate 9 Pro, which is the same hardware as the PD. Camera is IMO worse than the one in my iPhone 7 (not Plus). Front camera takes very yellow photos. Optical stabilizer is working too hard on the rear camera.

The demo phone in three individual stores in the nearest town center, Aalborg, suffered from the same "issue".
What is this "Google camera" you are talking about?

S7 Edge doesn't impress me particularly, either - too brown/yellow in the tint on the rear camera for my liking.
Quite pleased with this pic..
Not often I get to take artsy pics but I'm thinking this one is worth sharing.
I think that camera is pretty good in even low light situations, it takes pretty good shots.
I take back what i said about the camera...
Took a pic of a plane in the air..
I then zoomed in and took another pic...
Also took some pics of my kid on a rather fast fair ride and he came out completely clear!
Impressed!
The camera is for me quite good but in low light it is not as good as my xperia x performance. The colours could be more vivid though
