hi
for fixing kitkat external sd card permission i tried to change platforms.xml at /etc/premissions.
but unfortunately i cannot access internal and external storage (both of them). so i tried to flash again my kitkat rom but this problem doesn't have been solve.(but platforms.xml has been change to default)
what should i do?
(and sorry for language :cyclops: )
I hv a xperia m (C1904) and hv updated to stock firmware 4.3 (15.4.A.1.9). I hv also rooted it via towelroot and hv used root checker pro to find that "your device has proper root access". Now when i use this method to transfer files to sd card via link2sd by this method
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2142844
it does not work. As sooon i create the mount script (on ext2 partiton) my phone automatically boots and gets stuck on bootloop. When i remove my sd card it boots normal. No clue.
So i tried Foldermount (again bootloop), GL to sd (again bootloop), apps2sd, still no succees..
P.S; i am using SanDisk 16 Gb class 10 mmc.
P.s; if the solution is to flash a custom ftf, then i hv another question, i can't download ftf files, when i click "download anyway" on google drive (any ftf file) the google chrome takes over the download and it always goes above 50% and then fails (sometime at 60% sometime at 50% like this..)
It always fails downloading,,,,,,..
plz help me...
P.s; I hv a locked bootloader..

Hello there. I've addressed this issue on my help thread here . Link2SD doesn't work in your case. There is one other way.

Swap Memory...
Link2SD Problam
App2SD is not supported by your device. Because your device has a primary external storage which is emulated from the internal storage. You can link the app in order to move its files to your SD card.
device sony m dual android 4.3
What can I do?
Thanks
It is because u haven't got the full root. What u have done with towel root is just the half root. Look up for the full rooting method using towel root thread

As mentioned, find a root fix and apply it.
After that, swap your memory. Either by script or init.d.

Reboot Fix is no longer required on 4.3.
At least the stock update fixed my reboot issues.

i completely unroot my phone and then full-rooted it by towel root, busybox and remountreboot fix....ok that's fine...but now i create a partition in my mmc and install link2sd and create mount script...the phone reboots with success...but only linking is possible ...the move 2 sd option is now highlighted but it says "Apps2sd is not supported by ur device..."" fine i'm using gl to sd....now...thanks for the help...
Hi guys.
I hope the question has not been asked, but I could not find anything about it.
I have the problem that no app without root privileges can write to my external storage.
I already tried the previous version of the rom below but with the same result.
My steps:
1. Huawei Ascend P6 U06 with B507
2. Fastboot flashed TWRP 2.8.0.0
3. Booted to recovery
4. Wiped everything without internal and external storage
5. Rebooted to recovery
6. installed this rom and gapps
7. Wipe Cache & Dalvik
As soon as I provide an app with root privileges, for example Es Explorer, it can write to external storage. Otherwise the apps can only read.
Is it a know problem? Have I to wipe the sd card before flashing the rom?
Hopefully someone can help me

Hi and thanks for replying
Yes I can see the emulated and external sd card. I also tried to format the sd with the recovery but ended up with the same problem.
Edit: Now i found out, that this issue is new in Android KitKat. After applying the patch of this post I'm able to write in Es Explorer to external storage, but when i try to download something with Firefox the message: "Cannot download file because the SD card is in use" pops up. Also sending pictures with Threema didn't work.
Edit2: Firefox can't download because I've the same issue with the internal (emulated) sd card. I'm now looking whether I can fix it the same way.

Wipe your internal storage, this should fix all your issues but first backup your files on the internal storage.
Omg thank you very much! After booting into recovery and formatting the internal SD card everything worked fine ?
Can you tell me why it wasn't working before?

This is kinda a bug with AOSP based ROMs for our device that you loose the write permission to the storage and the only way to get it back is to wipe it.
Thanks!!

Hi just want to thank you for this reply. I know it's an old thread, but I recently flashed my Huawei Ascend P6 to CM 11 and got this problem. You made my day a good day
Also do you know if this is a recurring problem?

Shouldn't come back only after clean flash
OP:
I just used the 1clock root script from Jac10000 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/general/d855-one-click-root-twrp-recovery-t3072767). I downloaded TWRP manager in order to install TWRP, and got the following message: "Itr seems we can't write to SD card properly. This is common in KitKat and Lolliopop devices. We can patch it so we can write to SD card freely. This will make a change in the system partition".
The SD card referred doesn't actually exist. I do not have an external SD card, only an internal memory! I looked at the permissions in Root browser for the internal SD card, and they all seem to be 777 or 766. No bad permissions anywhere. If I decide to click this button, I'm assuming it would change permissions in some way.. But where, and to what, and are these changes reversable (how?)? If anybody else has had the same issue, speak up.

Solved with Autorec. Thanks @bender_007!
Here you are
:good:
Can it use for D852 ?
@yym789 Check playstore. i also uploaded d852 version(bell and rogers only). Type d852 in search field.
@vargfloejt I also have this message from twrp manager. With and without external sdcard. With all version of twrp ...
I think that twrp manager propose every time this message in the first launch of the application.
I do not apply the patch and it work normaly

Thanks! Solved the issue, and TWRP is installed.
I've rooted my asus fonepad 7 running lollipop 5.0 I installed Su using cwm and installed it , I then installed Rom Tool Box then I used the feature to choose were apps should install Internal to External SD I did a reboot and this is where the **** began, now everything on my sd card is completely the same as on my internal storage !!
Now I can't install any app from playstore or download anything it says "No SD card" , my phones imei shows null as well , hell I can't even take a screenshot anymore !!
I have CWM recovery installed, I have another Asus Fonepad 7 as well and everything is fine on it, just not this device any suggestions?
Things I tried to fix this...
1. Did a factory reset and wipe (did not work)
2. Flashed Stock Rom (did not work) it's still the same
What I think is wrong is , the device still thinks the External SD card is the internal memory but I don't have any idea on how to fix this ... please help if any solution will work it'll be great I don't mind the risks involved.
details
Can u post the details of stock rom u flashed..
how the hell did you install cwm on it?
