[Help] CWM error

I flashed Clockworkmod Recovery for my phone for some quite time, and flashed several custom ROMs. I was running GingerICE 2.1 until I noticed that when I chose 'choose zip from SDcard', it doesn't read any .zip file on my phone. I tried re-flashing stock ROM and the stock recovery detected those .zip files fine until I flashed Clockworkmod Recovery again and noticed the same error. Now, I cannot flash any custom ROMs or any .zip files because those files are not detected.
Can someone point out if I did something wrong?
Try to find out weather GingerICE 2.1 do a SD Card - External SD Card swap?!
Have you try to "zip from external card"?
No, GingerICE does not swap internal and external SD cards..
As far as I remember, I flashed several ROMs, then back to GingerICE. I guess I flashed Beats Audio..perhaps that's the problem?
I tried copying the ROM files to the external SD card and they were detected very fine, though the files in the internal SD card were still not detected. :/
At least it is not a very concern now since I tried flashing stock ROM and push CWM using ADB (last time using Odin) and it detects all of my files fine, currently. But I will be glad if someone can figure out if I did anything wrong...well, just in case.
needya I had the same problem that you have.. I tried to fix it by reflashing varoius kernels but nothing, the only way was to format the SD.. now it work perfectly.. hope this can help you
edit.. I had not seen that you have already solved http://forum.xda-developers.com/editpost.php?do=editpost&p=24178941

Do you mean the Internal USB Storage/SD?? Format that??
Samsung almost always calls Internal SD "USB Storage"
and under Settings/Storage, again..."Format USB storage"
but, for External SD....Samsung refers "SD Card"....
first need to Unmount SD card
then Format SD Card
Always make sure to back-up all data on either USB Storage or SD Card before formatting, all data will be wiped!!!

Then the phone can all of a sudden tell me that SD card is full ??
The phones storage is the following:

Is there something i can do ?

did u try mount/unmount sd card or a factory reset ??
I have formatted the phone but i have never formatted the internal memory or sd-card, should i maybe
I unmounted the sd-card , turned off the phone, restarted and put the sd-card back but it doesnt help or what should it do
Sorry my stupid questions but this is my first android so please be patient with me thanks
Maybe the problem is from the rom or check if ur sdcard is not protected in write (can be done on pc) if not u can format the phone ,the internal sd card and external sd card and if the problem occurs then u have to change the rom maybe it's time to jelly bean or even kitkat !! and I think u'll not have to upgrade ur rom because I think that formating all ( phone, int.sdcard ,ext.sdcard ) will solve the problem ...
I'm waiting for ur answer or if u decide to upgrade I can helpu then
Thanks for your reply !
How do i check if the sdcard is not protected in write ? I have an 8GB SanDisk Ultra card.
Another problem , i have had problem with moving pictures/videos to the SD-card so there have been pictures/videos in both the default storage and on the SD-card.
Now i managed to move them all to the SD-card with this link http://www.smartmobilephonesolution...res-samsung-android-smartphone-to-memory-card
Then i checked the default storage where i click the Gallery icon and they were still there so i deleted them all. Now they are all gone, also from the SD-card !

[Q] Why is my sdcard named M-^|PNG^M^J^Z^J?

When I get prompted to allow SD write permissions when accessing my newly formatted sdcard, the name of the sdcard appears as M-^|PNG^M^J^Z^J. This is on V20i of stock rom.
Why?
Just rename it.. How is this a problem for you?
Where do I rename it? I couldn't see.
Edit: Wipe in twrp made it appear as "sdcard" so I'm happy now
Rename using PC!

Hi, pal! I have the same problem: when sd maid request to allow SD write permissions, the name of the sdcard appears as M-^|PNG^M^J^Z^J. My phone is samsung sm-a300fu with 5.0.2 stock rom. Did you do full wipe (clear user data)?
I can't rmemeber exactly but I think I just wiped the sdcard in twrp after moving the files onto my pc.
Same on xperia e5.
This thing happens when you set up your phone the first time after flashing a ROM i.e M or N versions or inserting a newly formatted memory card, or just a card that hasn't been used before on the device . If you ignore the msg that pops up about setting up the new memory card detected. the android system names it in this way by default. (I don't know why they choose this name, it hasn't been clarified anywhere over the Internet) although it doesn't cause any error that I have encountered still it's an annoying thing.
formatting the memory card is not an option for me, and renaming the card doesn't work, I need a better solution to change this annoying default name. that data must be stored somewhere on the device itself where I can change it. anyone has any clue?

External SD card issue on CM11 (unofficial) ROM

Hi everybody, please I need your help.
I installed on my Redmi 1S this ROM:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-1s/orig-development/rom-unofficial-cyanogenmod-11-t2909757
I find it a nice, good and stable ROM.
It has only one major problem:
it says that it can't save the photos to the external SD card due to the Androis KitKat limitations.
In Settings/Storage I can't find the option to set the external SD card as a default storage place.
Probably because of this the storage capacity of the phone is not shown correctly to.
Is out there a flashable zip, or anything else to resolve this problem?
Thanks.
(Sorry for my bad English)
Hi, it is on the camera. Hit camera and find the options icon, should be on the right. Find settings and goto more settings. Change the storage from "Internal Memory" to "SDCARD".
Glad to help,

Hi, thanks for your reply.
You say: "Change the storage from "Internal Memory" to "SDCARD".
Well, that's not working.
1. When trying to change storage option, a pop-up message says that's not possible due to KitKat's limitation.
2. And yes, in Setup/Storage settings there's no option to set the external SD card as a default storage place.
3. Regardless of that, the File Manager recognizes the external SD card.
In my opinion this ROM does not contain the option to select the default external SD card, so, through an update or a flashable zip or using a custom kernel it should be included in the CM 11 ROM.
So I'm asking again: is out there a custom kernel, a flashable zip or un update that can resolve this major issue of this ROM?
Thanx.
