This is the Thread for CM10 questions and answers, I will check it, and I will do my best to answer you all. The proviso is that I am still learning so play nice, and don't expect a kernel re-write yet!
What kernel do you use with this ROM? Been a while since I booted up my HOV, but I want CM badly on it so yeah.
Cheers

Battery life is better than on Shpongle, but I have no idea about Ignorance as I have never used it. I suggest you give it a spin.

Bug
I think this is a bug.. the lock screen seems frozen for me sometimes.. also in the weather(lock screen) app I am unable to fetch my location nor can I manually set it.. it says location Not found... I am living in a well-known city...
May I kindly ask what is the weird date in the last build: Cyanogen10-PrimoU-20141012.zip? Is it some kind of the future release? =)
And a little bit more serious question: are these latest roms different in Mega and DevHost?
And not by the way - many thanks for your great work! I really appreciate it.
Gallery bug
When ever I use the gallery for streaming videos from browser, it shuts downs saying Gallery stopped working! sad bug!
The logcat is attached!

Of course I could check it for myself, sorry for asking. =)
So despite of different shortcuts/files naming these files are absolutely identical.

Sorry Kvestas,
the builds are the same in both on both sites, and the additional date is jsut because I made some minor changes to fix some bugs and wanted to differentiate the rom files.

Unfortunately as far as I know Gallery3D is a 4.4 only application I have so far been unable to get it to work. I don't know if the previous galleries allowed for streaming like this one would.
Put simply I can't fix this, but will keep an eye out for a fix for it. If you want to be able to stream to your gallery then I can only suggest that you use the Camera.apk and Gallery.apk from the 20140310 build which is almost entirely JB source work.
Thanks for reporting the issue though! It helps me with other dev work too.

Ok thanks for this Seth. Can some put in their location manually in the options screen for this and let me know if it retrieves weather information or not?
The source of the bug is Yahoo changing their weather information sites, so it won't read of them as is. I have it working on my phone, but only if I add the location in myself. Can someone else check if it works on their phone,

No mobile network
Hi,
After rebooting my phone, it was unable to turn on the mobile network. So I enabled flightmode and disabled flightmode. No result. I tried rebooting it. After reboot no mobile network.
It doesn't even ask for my pin to enable the simcard. Attached you find my logcat. Do you have a clue?

Hi Android_Doo,
is this a data network or radio network? It seems that your APN settings are the problem from the logcat. You could try deleting them all, and re-instating the ones suggested by your network. Then reboot.

Hi mcgi5sr2,
thanks for your development effort on this rom.

However I wonder why you develop CM10 and not CM10.1 for this device altough there are working kernels for A4.2.

Hi SuperMattze,
good question, the answer is that I have been quietly beavering away at cm10.1 for a couple of months now. Like everything it has been a learning adventure (I only started hacking/Modding in January) especially since only CDMA dev work has been on it before, and there device tree and kernel is very different, due to how they have developed since CM10.
With CM10 I have all of Lloirs and Maxwens work to look through and use, thus reducing the hours I needed to spend researching how to do things.
tl:dr its in the pipeline and I hope to have something on it at sometime. As with all things its a balance of time
Hi!
I truly hate my telephone. My HTC ONE V is just piece of ****. I've tried few other ROMs - every time it finished same way - working really smooth for first few weeks and then terribly slow. Not responding at all, or finishing simplest tasks in minutes...
This ROM is last chance for my phone - if that fails I will literally throw it to garbage (and right now I cannot afford new device )
Ok, getting back to the topic...
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have installed that ROM last night. Before doing that, I removed all cache. I've also updated my kernel to latest HELLBOY-CM10.
Effect - great ROM working really smooth, until.... I've installed Facebook app and rebooted device (started to lag terribly!). As the result, I got phone stuck on CM booting animation for forever.
Ok, maybe kernel fault. Installed Charm-Kiss for CM10. Went to recovery, again removed all cache, installed CM one more time. As the result this time, working fine, until...
I wanted to change background - opened stock gallery, chose picture, set as wallpaper, BAM - strange sound from speaker and froze totally. Only solution - rebooting phone by holding power button for few seconds.
I thought It happened once. Nope, got it few times already - running app, swiped desktop etc.
Can you please provide me some help here? I really do not know what to do else...

Fast Tattoo build I've found over at the vogue forums. Everything that works in the latest donut builds works in this build..including working wifi, ect, but no bluetooth.
camera needs work. No force closes, and it starts up faster than any hero ive tried. Haven't tested everything so let me know if you run into something.
This is not my work..special thanks to dzo, vilord, jamezelle, and many more still involved in the android project.

Wifi is good and fast, overall stability is very good as well. It will often reload the home screen if you don't use a swap file. Uploaded a conf file that will create one for you.

ajclai08, it's importante to say that everyone has to set the screen resolution in 320x480 at first boot, and then change to 240x320 if they want to.
Some apps that won't show in the market if you don't do that step.
PS: Some screenshots would be nice.

Good Work , Only issue it still is taking a long time to load from the drawer to the home screen and it won`t let me add Htc widgets, Is it just a issue that I am having or is just some general issues. It takes about 1-2 minutes to load home screen after going in setup or anywhere else....and have downloade the last conf (that makes a swap file)...
Cannot run
I keep getting "read only file system" and can't install this. Any suggestions?

Loading
I can get mine to load past Haret and the Android Pops up followed by the letters HTC and loud startup sound. I leave it there for 5 mins and then come back to a blank screen, 20 mins later it is still a blank screen.
I am using a Tytn II (Kaiser) Have tried this on a FAT32 formatted single partition SD with both 1GB card and 4GB card.
Any pointers in to where I should look? I was previously using a standard donut build just fine now I have replaced the files using these because I wanted to try out sense ui
Me too! Although I tried it on a Polaris, but since all of the builds for the Kaiser work on my Polaris I don't think this is the problem. Maybe, I didn't download the rootfs on this thread or the conf file. Will try now. EDIT:Yay! It worked! I downloaded the rootfs file and conf file (The one without the swap file conf) and overwrote my existing files. One problem though, no sound.
Does this even work??
Has anyone got this to actually work as described in the first post? I mean I have tried various mixes of files back and forth and now I can get as far as the Screen Calibration and sometimes to the SenseUi but its quiet slow and I get a

My partner has a Hero and thinking of getting rid of it due to its shortcommings in the PIM Dept, but I still would like to fiddle around with Android to see the improvements..
But agree with you that this appears to be a really crap build..
Plenty of users have gotten this to run, and run well, just check the original thread. If you want the SenseUI/Hero look on our device, this is the best it gets right now. You don't need a mishmash of files, just use what's in the first post. No build is perfect, you guys should have more respect for what the developers are trying to do for you.
Looking great, enatefox! Too bad I can't dual-boot Android builds, this one is tempting to stick with!

No disrespect at all polyrhythmic...in fact when my next paycheck comes I plan on donating I'm very grateful for all the work the devs have done. I've just been so fed up with WinMo that I run android pretty much as my primary OS so stability and functionality is everythign to me. I figured I'd give the tattoo build a shot just to check out the senseUI but couldn't get it working. As it is, it seems that the Kaiser has JUST enough power to run most andoid builds, that builds with "enahnced" UI's to me would prorobly just bog down the speed and functionality of it....no matter how pretty it is....and it is
Hello XDA,
I just tested the new Cyanogenmod 7.2 RC1 (if you don't know: It could be found at the cm website for quite a while now Cyanogenmod, device page, look out for GSM /CDMA . I am pretty thrilled (as always) by it. I really like the ICS features like the lockscreen and the animations or, besides, integrated network debugging. I mean this is not new at all (adb wireless for example) but it's an intelligent feature to integrate into the rom (especially as a developer). Its pretty good.
What do you all think about this rom? Have you already tried it?
The rom is good. I'm waiting for the next nightly release.
I had some problems with this nightly ... it forces many closes and reboots. Before installation i did a full wipe, cleared cache.
Now i switched to DK ICS Rom again.
But there i got problems too. Formatting /system in CWM manually solved my problems for the ICS-ROM. Perhaps someone could test, if it helps for problems on 7.2-nightlies too.
I'm very satisfied with it I'm using it since the release day and it's working flawless. Very stable no FC or anything like it. The animations and the ICS lock screen is what I really like also the performance is slightly better (I didn't benchmark it but I just have this feeling )

Have you wiped the Dalvik cache as well? As usual there are problems if you forgot to wipe it. This sound like I'm questioning a noob but don't be mad, it's just better to check something twice, then to have an unresolved issue.
For me, CM7.2 RC1 is the best room, the stability is good and the customization is excellent.
I'm also running 7.2 RC1 but after reading this topic I'm a bit confused, what ICS lock screen are you guys talking about? for me the lockscreen option haven't changed compared to 7.1:

Ah thank you, i didn't notice the extra options once you choose the ring style ...cool.
The only issue I have with CM7.2 RC1 is Wi-Fi connection. When I started my wifi it connects to the hot spot it obtain the IP address but the is no internet connection. Sometimes I just turn of and on the WiFi and it's working but sometimes I have to reboot my phone. I'm not sure where lies the problem, whether is the phone or my home hotspot (usually there are no problems with my PC to connect so I'm more sure to be the phones fault)

Hi,
The CM7.2RC1 seems to be quite good.
However, I have lost brightness control completely. Notification power button is not working and when trying go to Display in Settings I am getting FC.
I upgraded from CM7.1.0 (stable) without wipe out.
Anyone have similar issue?
Nevermind. Just updated to ICS and things looks so much nicer, despite the camra and theter are not working yet.
Wifi Issues
CM 7.2 RC1 is almost flawless. The only issue I've had is connecting to Wifi. The connection is SLOW and times-out often. It doesn't matter where I'm at, or who's wifi I'm on, and I have checked the D/U speeds with other devices to confirm it's working... so I'm pretty sure it's a ROM issue. I haven't been able to find any fixes, yet.

SD Card Problem
Hallo guys. Hope you can help. So I flashed this rom and everything seems to be working fine. I set it up just the way I want it so I decided to do a nandroid backup. Now after I reboot it seems to be stuck in the "preparing sd card" stage. I'm sure this has been addressed before but I can't seem to find the right thread here. Can anyone point me to the right direction? Thanks!
I'm using CM72RC1 on BravoC. With stock kernel, gps locking is little longer. I change the kernel with CronModKernel, gps locking is faster.
Right now, I didn't have CM72RC1 stock kernel. Could someone tell me where to download it?

Gonna reset it and see what happens.

I tried many ROMs but I've been mainly using Alquez CM 7.2 besides the first Marvellous CM10 and frankly this new version is really fluid and light on our old WFS.
It's really surprising to see how smooth and stable this first version is.
I have only one trouble with Viper4android who keeps asking to install its driver but the sound is working.
Driver 2.1.0.0
Enabled No
Status Normal
Processing No
And is there a way to silence the camera?

Silencing the camera may be illegal in certain areas. It is an option that is only in cm10.1 ; maybe there is a way to mod Settings and Camera... But I don't know it.

I see, well no need to waste time to mod the camera.
I created an empty camera_click.ogg with notepad and moved it to

Et voila the camera is now silent.
But I'm still at loss with viper4android.
You need to install vfp drivers then reboot and everything should be fine even if it is telling you to install drivers.

@Elisa81 I must say I always had problems with Link2SD, I guess its efficacity depends on your phone... Making the partition after having flashed the ROM is not a good idea, but still you may try something : move back your apps to internal memory - delete some if space is needed - and install Int2ExtV2+. If all your apps are in the internal memory, it should work without problems. You can then uninstall Link2SD.
But the easiest method would be to reflash the ROM with Int2ExtV2+. If you do not want to redownload everything and all, you may use Titanium Backup which allows you to backup all your data and restore it. There is a paid version but the free version is enough if you just want to backup apps
Good luck !

Data bug is common problem for cm10 roms. About GPS... try GPS Status, download a-gps data, enable the app to keep the screen on, and wait, wait, wait... It can take a long time to lock. Usually it locks when it has detected about 8-10 satellites.
bug
can't set ledlamp in system->notification->energiewidget
it's grey
Drive Mode
I have issues with orientation lock. I turned auto-rotation everywhere, and it still rotates.
I suspect it could be related to Drive Mode - started appearing from time to time (I didn't turn it on nor do I have a car dock). I can't find Drive Mode anywhere in settings.

Yes, I turned auto-orientation off everywhere.
I've cleaned up the USB port with ethyl alcohol (with battery removed) and the issue seems to have subdued.

I must say I have no idea why this happens, cause I never myself disable orientation. Where did you turn it off, exactly ?
i cant seem to turn on the bluetooth....even restarting the phone did not help. it worked for the first couple of times..

There are a few places to disable orientation:
Nova settings > Look & Feel > Screen Orientation
Notification drawer toggle
System settings > Screen > Orientation
Since drive mode stopped appeareing after I have cleaned the USB port, I think it was a hardware issue. I have read elsewhere that if lint, dirt, etc short circuit certain pins in the USB port, the phone thinks it is docked.

Yeah it must have been a hardware problem cause I never experienced anything like this... And it seems like you disabled auto orientation everywhere.

Hey guys,
Thank you for the ROM, it is the best ROM for our devices I have ever seen.
Is there any way to fix Bluetooth and Google Maps flickering?

As we do not build from source, I guess it won't be easy to fix bluetooth... But we could try, at least
For Google Maps flickering... I don't think it is possible to fix it. This app is absolutely not made for our device, and, although that is very annoying, I don't think it will ever work fully on it. Maybe there is a bit of hope, as Google said they would try to give better support to devices with weak hardware.
Thank you for the answer!
Also, what would be the best Internal-to-External app for this ROM? I am using Link2SD and it works fine but maybe some other apps perform better / faster...

wow this is great @Ziyan truly appreciate your awesome work!
Testing it now.
It's actually running really really well! Posting this from the 1130 build now! One thing that did work on FML and just refuses to on cm12 is getting the APN to stick, it says "APN settings aren't available for this user" (which I think it also said in FML but still stuck after it was saved), otherwise everything else has been mentioned in the op as far as quirks are concerned
I'm getting much worse battery life than with the last CM11 nightly. Overnight battery drain was 3.7%/hour, compared to around 1%/hour with CM11. According to GSAM, the main issue was system(mediaserver) at about 94% of battery usage. No media was being served, so far as I can tell. EDIT: battery life often improves for me a day or two after installing a new generation, so I'll see if it gets better today.
I notice that the google bar at the top of the page always has: Say "OK Google." My Nexus 5 running stock doesn't have this.
It's also much laggier than CM11.
Video works with NuPlayer unchecked in Developer Options. Specifically, I could play video with MX player.
Possibly related to camera not working, the flashlight doesn't work. I only tried turning it on with quick settings.
No crashed so far and no app problems other than camera.
Tap and Go setup (against my N5), worked properly. It didn't work on FML.
I'm testing without a SIM at the moment, just wifi.
Thank you Ziyan
I had my SIM fried somehow after i flashed the rom yesterday, I had to replace the sim card today with a new one, the old one is toast.
It happened during "cellular network setup", it wanted my pin number, as soon as i entered it it was asking for my puk number.
Typed it in, things finished but without network connectivity, had the no sim card sign on the statusbar.
Could it be something connected to the rom or it was just my sim card time to go?
Cheers
Just want to say thanks!
Don't have enough posts to be allowed to post on the CM11 thread, so doing it here.
Ziyan,
Thank you so much for your work on this and I am looking forward to the first monthly CM12!

Try turning off ok google detection from the launcher settings - also, if you use the default launcher, set the app drawer animation to "none", because CM forgot to update that part of launcher to lollipop - they left in the animation from 4.4, so it's laggy and ugly. I just submitted the patch set to fix that, they merged it already so the next build will have this set by default.
Also, if you manage to break camera or video playback, I noticed it tends to leave the video processing part of the CPU active all the time until you reboot, so try that out too
As for the lag, it should improve over time.

I rebooted and recharged about two hours ago and battery is draining at 1.7%/hour (including listening to music, not just on idle). While it's usually a mistake to rely on short time periods, the prior drain could well have been due to breaking camera and video playback. I'll continue to monitor.
I'm using the google now launcher and like ok google detection. If I get down to similar idle battery drain as on CM11, I'll leave detection on, otherwise I'll test with it off.
I'd hope lag would improve as we go beyond early testing
Thanks
EDIT: battery drain on idle is going down a bit, suggesting your diagnosis of broken video leaving the CPU active was correct.

For those who don't know, we are getting Lollipop on GN because of these 3 people: @Ziyan , @freshgiammi , and @MWisBest. Lollipop FML was only possible because of those 3 people. Same thing applies for CM 12. It's not like they were working separately. So all 3 are due equal credits for making it work for us.
of course thread subscribed and waiting for the amazing work I'm sure ziyan will do :fingers-crossed:

It would be possible to have a small changelog as they come out new beta?

Same bug with PUK
Ok, I don't know which information matters but:
I'm in Germany.
Steps before flashing new ROM from the 30th:
-> wipe cache
-> wipe system
-> wipe dalvic
-> flash rom (everything from cwm)
While trying to flash gapps i got error code 6 (Which i found out later was a buggy version of CWM (6.0.4.7)) but I didn't care and rebooted.
Everything seemed to work, but a few seconds later he asked for the PIN (like always).
Typed PIN correctly, after the FIRST try, the phone asked for the PUK.
Now, after flashing a newer CWM and the most recent cm-11 nightly + gapps ... at least everything works again, except for the SIM cause i can't find my PUK ... well, gonna buy a new prepaid tomorrow. Still an interesting bug ... does anybody know how this could happen? Would be nice to use Lollipop, even if it's bugged as hell ^^
edit: Without SIM, the ROM looked awesome. I had no lag and any app worked. BUT the home button did not. ^^
Is this running the newer GPU drivers?
Has anyone tried lollipop minimum gapps yet with these builds?

No t805 for now unfortunately
problem with my camera !!!!!!!!
Hii,I have a problem with the camera application, it closes by itself and there is a superposition SETTINGS and three buttons (pan mode, take photo and video mode) what it is and how to solve it? I would like to know if I'm the only one that this happens ...?! and the touch keys even installing your ZIP file by mounting / system it still does not ... normal ?! What ?! tell me please ... put everything aside from that .. great job on this ROM !!
GPS and key back light issues
I read through the posts in the other thread, but don't see any mention of GPS issues. I tried GPS status on the stock ROM and it was fine. On this one, it doesn't see any satellites. I am on a T800. Is this a known issue or is there a fix I can try?
I see the latest build for the T700 has the back light setting restored. Will you be able to fix that for the T800 too?
Thanks for your efforts.
Loving the ROM. Only thing I noticed so far is that it only detects 5ghz network with channel 36. Weird. But overall great.

Camera is gonna have problems.. There are numerous posts about it in several different threads.
Not sure about the button zips. Both work perfectly for me. Will wait to hear how other people fare.

I haven't tried GPS but I'll see if I can sort out the problem. T700 has some different vendor blobs that I snagged from a lollipop leak for the note3.

see the second post in the main thread for zips to fix the keys (must mount /system before flashing)
- mixed results with this
OR, manually edit the Generic.kl file (EXTREMELY EASY), as instructed in the same post as the downloads
Tried both still no result of the overview button appearing the changing of the file did fix the recent apps button but didnt add the others.
This?

You could always do it. . I'd be happy to guide you through the process. I had 0 experience with this until about 3 months ago (and no coding background) and I'm doing okay. Tab S is particularly annoying because it's fairly under-supported compared to other devices. Essentially, if there is a working cm12 build for your device (or any other lollipop), you can build this with limited difficulty.

You'll be taking source code, making a few changes (manual) and building from scratch ("automatic").
Pm me and we can start chatting on hangouts.
Great rom! Just flashed it yesterday and been having fun ever since. I also tried the Remote Play App to play on PS4. Got it to connect, however it shows the controls overlay on screen, but not the stream of the PS4. I already disabled HW overlays. Does anybody here have a similar experience? Also looked in the Remote Play thread.
Other than that, the notifications on the lockscreen are dark grey. In other screens I have seen that they have a lighter color. Is this configurable somewhere? Haven't been able to find that yet.
