HI! I have spent hours reseaching and trying different files and nothing has worked. I updated a rooted 4.1.1 to 4.3 via OTA and I did get rid of the root but Super Su is still present with no root access. I tried uninstalling it via super su app but it tells me uninstall failed. I tried via the play store but it only gives me the option to update. The whole reason for doing this was because I wanted to start using the ISIS payment system but it keeps telling me my phone is rooted and ISIS won't work. I know is not rooted because Super SU doesn't have root access and I tried the root access apk and it has told me I don't have root access. I'm looking to install a tar file via odin which should get rid of any traces of Super Su or root which is preventing me to use ISIS. I never had issues getting rid of root before but this time I don't know if its because I updated via OTA but even then it should have gotten rid of Super Su and it did not. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
If you're using an i747m from a Canadian carrier, you could try flashing a stock 4.3 ROM.

I am a kind of noob so that I was looking for the easiest way of rooting.
I was rooted via Zergrush, stuck with stock rom and all bloatwares frozen via Titanium backup.
Today, I got a OTA update message. I thought I would lose root after OTA,
so I deleted all the apps that need SU permission except Titanium Backup.
Update was no problem. Rom was updated to 2.3.6 and I got Wifi Calling.
But I still have SU and Titanium backup working, all bloatwares are frozen.
Is this normal? or I just got lucky?
yeah i still have Superuser on my phone too after OTA but you dont have root access
down load root checker from the market and see if it says you have root.. i doubt it will
I still have root access. See the attached image.

Lost root on mine after update.
I recently flashed the official 4.3 update that came out a few days ago. I have clockwork mod recovery and I flashed the supersu zip, which failed to work. I then flashed cf auto root via odin and now it says super su has stopped working when I try to gain root access. I really need root access because I back up my app data via helium backup (GREAT app btw). Please help! Thanks :crying:
I feel i have a peculiar situation. I have a Samsung Galaxy SIII SGH-T999 with the Hellfire 4.4.2 rom flashed to it. The default superuser app worked fine. But, i downloaded superuser because i like it better. I tried to update the binary but it always got stuck at the checking to make sure it is working part of the update. So, i downloaded the binary to flash through clockworkmod recovery. Now i have no root access whatsoever. I have no idea what to do. So my question is how do i regain root access and update the binary?
I used supersu to root my original phone on 4.1.1. this was maybe 2 years ago. i want to update to 4.4 but the root doesnt let me, so i uninstalled SuperSU hoping it would unroot and tried to update usin g"software update". still nothing--hitting the butting doesnt even register a click.
tried using odin to update but it stalls on one of the early processes (then i realized i needed root for this step!)
so i went to DL SuperSU again but installing it doesnt work: "There is no SU binary installed and SuperSU cannot install it. This is a problem!"
What to do??
The simplest way to get to 4.4.2 via OTA updates would be to use Odin and flash back to completely stock 4.1.1.
Using Odin will wipe all data files on the phone.
i used CF auto root to root my note on 4.4.4.
after i updated to 5.0.1 SU no longer works.
this is the error i received
"there is no SU binary installed, and SuperSU cannot install it. This is a problem! if you just upgraded to Android 5.0, you need to manually re-root.
so my question is what do i have to do you "manually" re-root?
--thanks
Odin CF auto root again. It still works. After that you can use flashify to get recovery
what is the best place to down OEM stock rom?

What I did was flash TWRP through odin, and then flash SuperSU from TWRP. If you get a message from SuperSU saying the su binary is out of date, update it via recovery and it will update and that message will go away.
TWRP odin tar: http://dl.twrp.me/trltespr/twrp-2.8.6.0-trltespr.img.tar
SuperSU: http://download.chainfire.eu/396/SuperSU/ Once flashed, I recommend updating it through play store and updating su binaries.
Thank you everyone for the help. I was easily able to get root back.
I have another question.
I'm not sure if this is a root issue or what, I imagine this that it is but, now whenever i touch the heart rate sensor it lights up, even when the screen is off / phone is locked. I know root breaks s heath is this the reason for the sensor being "always on"?
