Thanks i have seen that... but image in that webiste is different my model is XT1033
Xt1033 is dual sim, right? I bet the XT1033's digitizer/LCD isn't any different from the xt1032/34.
And what difference do you mean in the picture, could you point it out?

Is the display working?
Personal experience says its better to wait and get it repaired from the company itself those guys outside they just spoil the device.

Not sure if it's the same or not.
If this is the digitizer that they are displaying then yes those extra cuts being for the front can/Notification LED/sensors
But this is a doubtful thing

Hey how did you manage to crack that Gorilla glass ? As far as replacement goes ; the moto G is supposed to have some nano coating for water protection . So might be better to check with Moto center before replacing . How much are they charging you by the way

gorilla glass 3 i reckon, scratch proof not shatter proof. you got to be the first to crack a screen since the phone hasnt been long released so havent come across an incident yet. moto g is 'technically' a cheap smartphone, dont get me wrong, i love my moto g, but it is classed in budget smartphones cause of its low price. just get another one.

One quick suggestion: Use a wide cello tape over your screen like a screen guard, it shall help keep the glass pieces intact, else it might someday crack the Display underneath, and then you shall be left with nothing to use!

Oh goodness! they never said this phone was waterproof , only that it has a water repellant nano coating.
Think of it like an umbrella, might help keep you dry if it's raining but it won't help if you go jump into a lake.

Someone on youtube left it submersed under water for 30 min. no problem. Not 100% waterproof, but damn close.

What's up with my lCD screen? I noticed tis weird deformation on the screen with the protector REMOVED! I don't remember dropping it onto the screen or pushing it in really hard or anything. It looks like water but when I apply pressure, it doesn't spread out. Anyone?
BTW, there's no scratches, dents cracks on the screen. I always used a screen protector and I never leave it in the sun for too long.

that pic is with the screen protector REMOVED, correct? otherwise, its just a part of the protector that has become air tight or "sealed" to ur screen. removing and replacing the protector should work until it happens again lol.

I already sent it in for repairs. I hope I'm not at fault otherwise they'll charge me for the replacement phone. I never got the phone wet...
push around the edges of the screen, I had the same problem with my old diamond. having it in my pocket at work sometimes it would get a lot of pressure on on point on the screen causing this. it should spread out depending on where you press on the screen around the "bubble" thing
sometimes I had to use my stylus and drag across the bubble to try to stretch it until it dispersed. be careful not to press too hard with the stylus cause it might scratch the screen, but you'll know if your pressin too hard.
Mine has this as well. It seems after having it in my pocket over the last 6 months or so this happened. It isn't moisture but I think its just the built in plastic cover over the lcd sticking. This also happened to my original tilt. I don't think there is any way to fix it.

Just Send it back
Send your phone back. i had an bubble like that on my touch pro2 for about two month and finally it cause my touch screen to stop working. The Tp2 has a screen protector over it touch sensor to protect it, when the screen protector cave in, like it did in the pic it would cause the touch sensor to go off recognizing it as someone touching the screen... and since the TP2 not multi you won't be able to use your phone. i basically had to lift the protector up to hint send.... but the funny part is the TP2 won't work without it so u can't just take it off. its like the protector have nerve in it that only the tp2 can recognize

make sure you take out the battery and DON"T put it back in after as the phone will reboot.

The solution they have dries really quickly, they added some substance it in, so even if the tiniest bit gets in there, you shouldn't worry too much, unless you spill the whole bottle in there lol
EDIT: this is speaking from the person who DRENCHED the screen protector before applying lol

Does it go right to the edges of the screen?
I got one ordered this weekend hopefully arriving soon.
How difficult was the application? I'm not too keen on wet application (Zagg, ugh) but is it pretty much drench, lay it on the screen and shift to center ASAP? Past experience with Zaggs, I've usually had to lay it perfectly on the first try since I wouldn't be able to shift it around afterwards.
FYI, "byublue", as mentioned earlier, takes $3 off, which is slightly better than 20%.

I'm assuming all wet applications should be the same, which means that your experience with zagg will be similar with xo.
You wouldn't be able to shift it around after its applied. However, you can peel it upwards, apply some more liquid, then place it back down
Did that with my skinomi, had no problem with it, should work with all wet screen protectors
Got mine today and applied it tonight. It was my first wet application, and it was WAY easier than the (dry-apply) SGP Crystal I had on my Dinc.
It goes very close to the edge of the screen.
No orange peel
No rainbow effect
As I said before... highly recommended

So I've never done a wet install. Basically I get as much of the liquid out as possible and then wait overnight for it to settle?
I don't think people realize that, sure even though your device isn't damaged from the liquid solution that may or may have leaked into the phone. BUT it probably set off the water damage sticker inside voiding your warranty.
That's the biggest fear for most people including myself.

Something similar happened to me. The day I got my phone I was cleaning the display and some of the cleaner leaked between the glass and the panel. It grew in to a big grey blob and started moving from the top of the phone to the bottom. It went completely away overnight. It just happened again a few days ago when I was putting a screen protector on. Same thing, moved from top to bottom and went away overnight. Hope your's does the same.
BTW, from the AT&T logo you're in the wrong forum. I'm guessing the displays act the same though.

And I actually own the International version, I was pissed off when they shipped me the one with ATT logo but figured its just a damn logo, might as well stick to it..

The One XL (AT&T) display is made by Sony. Maybe it's different than the Acer and Sharp in the One X? The Gorilla Glass is laminated to the display and I'd guess that would be the same part regardless of who produced the panel itself. I wonder if yours is just the display part w/o the GG glass overlay? But then what's the moisture "blob" in between? Curious.

I hope it doesn't matter :/
And that is my exact question, I just did some comparison with my shattered screen, the "blob" in the middle is exactly how its suppose to look like, I am guessing it is not firmly attached to lcd?
bleh I might have to visit a local phone repair shop or something.. this sucks .. Another crappy issue is that, the LEDs are way off alignment, a good centimeter off ..

This actually makes me wonder, and as far as I once heard the designs on the at& the and the International one x may seem alike but as far as I am concerned there is a minimal design difference, but don't take my answer for 100% sure, but that's maybe a possibility. Correct me if I'm wrong.
A friend of mine just had his digitizer replaced after he smashed it and has the same issue as you. Looks like it's not bonded to the LCD properly, the screen flexes when pressed. He is sending it back for repair again.
This is why my One X repair is delayed.
I broke my One X screen over a month ago now. It's been at the repair centre for that long. The reason is that the market has been flooded with cheap, hand-made, screens that have this exact problem and they are waiting for proper screens to become available. The official screens are bonded using a machine - very few of these cheap ones are fault free.
Likewise, if you have the digitizer replaced by a 3rd party, the chances are that they will do it by hand, leading to this problem. Be careful where you send your One X for repair if you do not use HTC themselves.
Unusually glossy? Sure there isn't a protection film over it?

I think you're spot on. I'd imagine it would be almost impossible for knock-off screens to ever be produced as well as the originals based on this...
"The 4.7-inch 720p Super LCD 2 display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 2, which is the new version that's thinner and stronger. We first saw the Gorilla Glass 2 back at CES 2012, though the glass manufacturer did not reveal then which handsets will be featuring the technology. HTC also told us that the One X features optical lamination, a process through which the screen ends up laminated to the glass, resulting in better viewing angles. We found this to be true, and having the screen so close to the glass makes it appear brighter and more visible under sunlight."
Isnt there any kind of liquid glue we can use to make the screen crack invisible ?
No. If you want a perfect screen replacement, suck it up and pay for the price of an out of warranty repair.

I put on a privacy screen and it looked great, the crack is hidden perfectly. Then I turned on my phone only to find out the image looked awful.
I havent found anyone happy with these 3rd party screen replacements. I am very sad, I love my phone but looking at a horrible crack makes me want to smash it against a wall.
From now on I am putting a heavy duty case on my phones.
I dont want to troll but my SGS2 had plenty of terrible falls including a 7 foot fall against a harsh Walmart parking lot. Not even a scratch. My hox was shattered for nothing
Hey everyone,
I'm really sad to say that my Nexus 7 that I've had now for less than 2 weeks has pretty bad scratches on the screen. Considering that these devices use scratch resistant screens I was pretty surprised and upset/pissed to find them.
I was planning on buying a screen protector for it while I wait for my case to come in from ebay and I discovered these scratches. I take the tablet with me around a lot on the go but tend to hold it in my hand (yes I know it's not the best idea), but I treat it like a baby so I literally have never dropped it, dinged it, "traded paint" with any surface or anything of that sort. I'm really surprised to have even found these scratches.
I was wondering if anyone knew about any sort of warranty regarding this issue? I've also experienced at times some "ghost" touches on the device while using it, and usually what will happen is that when I would click on something on the screen, it would respond as if I was holding my finger on that location. This would happen a lot while typing and would get pretty annoying as many words I would type would not complete and rather have a symbol in them.
I forgot to mention, I bought the device from a retail TigerDirect store and on the reciept it indicates that it is possible to refund or exchange tablets within 14 days of the purchase price. So I have until October the 6th before it's been 2 weeks that I've had the device.
If anyone has some tips or advice in regards to what I should do I would gladly appreciate it as it really saddens me to see that I already have scratches on this pretty much brand new device.
Thanks!

Go get exchanged for the touch screen issues. This way you are exchanging it for a legit reason and you will get a while new device with a perfect screen again. I always use a screen protector. Sand will scratch just about any screen and I like to just be on the safe side.

Thanks for the reply! I'm definitely going to go to TigerDirect tomorrow to get it replaced for the issues I'm having with the touch screen. Will also buy a screen protector from there to install on the tablet as soon as I open it up again. Just really frustrated that I have to do this with something that's not even a month old :\

Definitely! About to take it in to get it exchanged right now as we speak. Hopefully there won't be any issues.

Thanks!
Got it exchanged without any issues! :highfive:
Also picked up an invisible shield screen protector from Zagg. Even though it was like $25, felt pretty worthy of the price since its got a lifetime guarantee.
Thanks again!
How do you scratch your screen? Do you put your tab face down? I got 3 tabs in the last 2 years.. No screen protector and never got a scratch!

I have two faint but long scratches across the screen on my just over a month old Nexus 7 flo. I will say that the screen on this device is pretty prone to scratching despite careful treatment of it. Same thing for the back plastic bezel around the screen.

You don't even know what means I took to avoid any kind of damage to this tablet. I literally BABIED it but still somehow got a scratch. It must have been due to sand or something. It's never been placed face down and the screen has never come into contact with any other object or surface.
I learned my lesson though, and was fortunate to have been experiencing some of the touch screen bugs. I bought a screen protector this time after exchanging it for a new one. Still haven't unboxed it yet but first thing I'm doing is putting my screen protector on haha

I gotta agree with you. I took so many precautions to avoid this and that's exactly what happened. The screen is definitely prone to scratches regardless of it having a scratch resistant screen.

Could be a stress fracture. If you ever carry your phone in your jeans pocket and sit down, it could have stressed the bezel enough to crack.

Yeah that could be.. sucks still.. I hope the n4 is not like the GS5.. kind of want to stay away from plastic samsung but I love the note.. looks like they didnt beef up that spot.. I took the back cover out and I can see its a thin part...
Anoyone know if this can be replaced? As in just that bezel part? Im assuming its built in part of the screen.. going to check out youtube disassemble

It's part of the chassis, you'd have to literally remove every single part from the phone, including the screen/glass, to replace it.

The display/front glass assembly is glued to the chassis so if you try to remove it, you'll likely break it, or at the very least get tons of dust under the screen. Sucks, but you just gotta live with it.

Yeah I ordered a main frame... as for the screen its sealed in so no dust will be going under that as im not replacing the screen part.. replacing most of the part is easy just the screen part will have to take it easy.. I have the tools to do it.. I have taken phone my iphone apart so I have no fear lol
I would call TMo about it, there is no obvious sign of abuse, looks like a manufacturing defect to me. Whats the worse they can say?

Idk about that as I bought it full price no contract on tmo and using it on ATT network, but I will Be going back to t mobile this year. .
Yeah, but you did buy it from T-Mobile regardless of payment or where it's used. Call them. Again, worst they can say is no, but maybe they say yes.....
I have one on mine, same spot

There was a thread just like this one and a few people had the same crack and said it was never dropped. It looks like it may be a stress point and just a weak point.

Yeah sure does look like a weak spot as you can see when you remove the s pen its thin area.. seems like they didnt beef it up a bit.. but yeah im going to replace my frame and baby it even more now..

I do. I use one of the strongest cases which are the UAG's. Ive only dropped the phone once without a case by falling off the bed onto a tile floor. No noticeable damage to the phone aesthetics other than the line near the spen. But I don't think that little fall caused this.

Doesn't bother me. When I first saw it I thought it was apart of the phone. But I will however trade my note 3 because my proximity sensor has been broken for a month now ?

Wish I saw this post yesterday when I went into my rant about build quality...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=51464665
What I didn't mention is this happened in a t-mobile store as I was trying this case on during my lunch break. Went back to store and they said there is nothing they can do, even with the manager there I pleaded. So a hairline crack will not be taken care of unless you feel like paying your $175 deductible or whatever it is.
Samsung can't care less, and left another angry voice mail with incipio.

Not buying another Samsung until build quality improves
