I'm using CM7.2 with Link2SD. Everything was working fine for a long time, until just now... I wiped Dalvik cache, and the phone got into bootloop after restart... How is this even possible? Then wiped cache partition, still nothing. I don't want to factory reset... Is there a simple way to bring it to life?

Need a few more details:
- What were your trying to do? Why did you wipe dalvik in the first place?
- How did you partition your sd card?
- Which hboot are you on?
I take it you can still get into recovery? Make a backup anyway, you can recover stuff afterwards in the event you have to full wipe.
I've personally never had any luck with Link2SD, with CM7 I recommend you are on cm7r2 hboot and use S2E or Darktremor for A2SD, use either to move apps and dalvik to sd-ext.

Hello all,
I've been having issues with apps force closing even after several full wipes and trying several different roms.
I can't seem to get everything cleared off and I'm assuming some of it is kept on internal memory/storage? I have even tried another SD card. I have not wiped the SD cards though. Could this be the issue?
Is there anything else I can do to fully wipe my EVO 4G?
Thank you,
OB1B
Make sure you are doing data factory reset, wipe dalvik cache, cache, boot, system, data while in vrecovery when you switch roms.

You can flash vr-superwipe before you flash a new ROM it will wipe everything for you 3 times, also do all the wipes your self data, system, cache, dalvik cache, boot basically every wipe option in recovery except your sdcard and battery stats.
Here is a link to the wipe all zip if you want it , it also wipes any temp files made by apps that are on your sdcard.

Hi
I am try to flash Supernova ROM but I can't seem to get past the HTC logo.
I have rooted my desire using unrevoked and I have partitioned my sd card using gparted. I have tried wipe cache's and the davilk cache but it just doesn't boot at all. I am using stock 2.2 and haven't changed any kernals or anything. Anybody got any ideas. I am new to flashing on the desire. I am able to get back to recovery and have restored my back up. I just cant get supernova to work.
Thanks

You tried wiping? Was it successful or not? Wipe all/wipe cache/ wipe dalvik cache (advanced...) should give you "dalvik cache wiped" e.g. if succesful....

Yes all the wipes were successful. I wiped them a couple of times
I had the same problem but just pulled out the battery, did a full wipe again, booted again and it worked. If that doesn't work post this question in the Supernova thread
Just did a clean install of Anthem v2.1 and everything booted up fine. I went into recovery, wiped data, dalvik, and cache, and installed the latest gingertiny kernel. When I reboot from recovery, I get bootloop. What's wrong?

Thats because you wiped data. You should only wipe dalvik-cache and the cache partition.

Just to add to this. NEVER wipe data after flashing a Sense 3 or Sense 3.5 ROM. Actually even some Sense 2.1 ROMs that is a bad idea.
This is because the way these ROMS are built as the storage in /system cannot hold the whole ROM so they have to build part of it in /data. So wiping data will clear the ROM components as well as the user data. If you have to wipe data, plan to reflash the ROM again. So I say don't wipe data AFTER flashing the ROM unless you plan on reflashing the ROM. You can and will probably need to wipe data before flashing the ROM though.
Is there a reason why Titanium Backup isn't working? When I try to restore the progress bar just doesn't do anything...I had this problem with my Galaxy Tab and I had to change the app processing mode but is there a different issue?

Make sure USB debuggging is on. If it is, I don't know.
I think the problem is that I ran out of internal memory, I have a huge sd card so I think I can solve this problem. Thank you for replying though. I would've posted something on the actual rom page but I don't have enough thumbs up
Ok so I downloaded a JB rom rebooted in CWM touch I then
wipe data /factory reset
Wipe cache partitions
Wipe dalvik cache
Format system
Format cache
Format data
And flashed the rom
I reboot and it gets stuck sometimes in the Google screen or the X screen
I have left it booting for 1hr and nothing
Due system/cache /data have to be unmounted?
hi there, only thing you must do is to wipe factory, and wipe cache, dont wipe and format other things there.. if you have a back up of your prevoius stock rom, restore it again to restore all you had been formated, to restore your phone to normal, and install again your jelly bean rom but this time just wipe cache and wipe facetory thats all you need to do. sorry for the english

It's pass the Google screen now in the glowing X screen its been on for like 15 min is that normal?
Its should not take that long after flashing the rom max time it takes is 5 mins for me will be same for all there must be something wrong
CMW Touch usually does not play well with JB.
Try flashing with an older CMW.
Alright thanks for the help restoring back to aopk 40 and going to flash a older cwm then rebooting into cwm wipe factory and cache then JB v3 then rebooting it hope fully it works
Good luck, hope it works out for you.
I don't really know if it's working or not or what is my problem exactly.
I installed CM10, but then I had to reinstall it, I did a wipe cache/factory reset and I wiped the dalvik cache, then flashed the CM10 zip.
When my phone booted I already had Play Store, but I was supposed to install it, and I also had ~1GB internal memory, but I didn't install Data2SD or any script yet (I installed it when I first installed CM10, but isn't it supposed to "disappear" after factor reset?).
I know I should be happy because I don't have to be bothered with installing gapps or Data2SD, it's just weird.
It's weird because you need to wipe data, wipe cache, wipe dalvick cache, wipe boot, wipe system and i recommend to use superwipetool.

Gapps (Play store) is installed in system partition. Factory restore just wipes the data of additional system apps not the applications. Hence no matter how many times you do a factory reset. It'll stay there. Its not a bug.
And what about the internal memory thing? Is it because of the same reason?

All the apps which are installed in internal memory and sd card should be wiped by now.
Sorry for the update, but i don't get it.
My girlfriend have a Galaxy S with pics, mp3 and everything, custom folder etc... I installed CM10, and before in the recovery mode, i did a wipe data, Dalvik cache, Reset factory several times. Once i installed CM10, i can find exactly the same folder, mp3, pictures etc...
I don't get it.

The internal sdcard of galaxy s is not wiped by wiping data/factory reset. Its on a separate partition.
