Force ZVA update sprint lg G2 - Sprint LG G2

I just got my insurance replacement today and it came with zv8 software on it. The phone i had prior to this one had the ZVA update and i have tried to hit the update tab under settings and im.still not getting them. Any ideas?

If you want to do it manally...there are stock ZVA roms in the Sprint section...else use the keypad code in the "Sprint Dialer Codes thread..."
Also please post in the correct section....helps keeps the forum clean.

ZV9 Update

Sorry if this really doesn't need a new thread but I just got a notification to install the update. Isn't it weird since I'm supposedly already up to date?

Never mind fixed it.
I changed everything in the build.prop from zv8 to zv9. I noticed that when I flashed nocturnal's mod it changed the version number to zv8. So the update kept trying to install even though I was already on v9.

Would you happen to know of any way to keep that upgrade dialog from coming up every 10 minutes?
If you're rooted and on zv9 just update build.prop. if not rooted then you can't.

Im on ZV8, im rooted and unlocked but dont wish to update. I just hate that the dialog box wont stop interrupting me, it also popos up while in not using the phone which wakes the screen and kills my battery while im at work.

Let it try to install. It will fail and stop trying. :good:

Kernel Crash when camera is opened

Got my sprint LGOG yesterday and took one picture, camera worked. I then rooted the phone and unlocked it. Today went to take a picture and the phone froze then got a screen that said DemiGod crash handler with 3 different options. Anyone else ever get this. I've tried it 3 times now and still crashing.

Which version of Freegee did you use? .03 has bug. .05 or the one from the Play store work great.

So are you still having the problem with the bootloader unlocked?
You ought to give Lifeless, or Imperium a shot. Obviously I've been assuming you were on stock ROM.

Yes, stock rom. Tried unlocking again, again with team win recovery. Same problem. I'll try cwm later. And your suggestions.

If you just got your phone, make sure you update it to ZV8 before unlocking.
Your not by chance using sk8erswill' kernel? His causes it also.

Got it all straighten out. Updated to ZV9 then used engine95's guide with fiddy619's steps to root ZV9, then back to freegee to unlock. Everything is running great. Absolutely love the battery life on this thing. Now to figure out how to get rid of some of the bloatware.

Sim unlock s3 on 4.3

Ok. So I tried to sim unlock s3 on t mobile . T mo gave me code. Put in old cetennial then an old att sim and says unlock unsuccesful. Theysent another phone and new code. Same problem. Anychance phone needs an active sim for unlock code to work? Tired of readi g andsearchi g to no avail.

sim lock 4.3
You only have two options... Option 1, You wait until kikkat 4.4 become available for upgrade then unlock the phone with same code. Or option 2, you find the stock rom that came with the the phone which is the ice cream 4.04. Then use odin to downgrade and then you can use the same code.
From all my reading. I was under impression you cant down grade with odin?

You can't if your device has the official 4.3 update, like ota or if it was done through kies or Odin

So you think maybe code is correct and4.3 ota broke ability to unlock by code?

Its possible it could've been broken by mistake, some people have had the same issues with Samsung devices on 4.3, try the new 4.3 update and see if it helps

I would try again. I can confirm that this method does indeed work on KitKat for our (Sprint) device.
The direct link provided for the download is here. Make sure you give proper thanks to the developers listed in the aforementioned thread.
Have to have developers options USB debugging checked. Charge only, airplane mode. Make sure to check always on your phone when it connects for that connection.

Knock Code

In the G2 general thread, I'm seeing that the D802 version is starting to receive the OTA update for knock code now, and iirc the D803 has had it for a few weeks now. Sssooo, even though it'd most likely be speculation, anybody have any good idea when Sprint plans on sending this thing our way? I didn't realize i wanted it until i looked it up and actually saw it in action. ..but it's def a nice addition.
Sent from my LG-LS980 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
So nobody knows any info on when we'll be getting this i suppose? This update is the only thing keeping me from adding a custom kernel/recovery...so i can just accept the update once it comes with no issue. Would be nice if they finally went ahead and pushed it us carriers. ..was supposed to have it in April....

Keep checking RDF site, unless it changes, no update.
Don't follow the Sprint reps, one said we should see it in April, that was said in the last week of April lol.

No joke. Knock code is the only reason I'm ONLY rooted instead of rooted with custom kernel/recovery. I actually thought we might have this update a month ago already...?
Sent from my LG-LS980 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Anyone heard any news about this update...at all? Extremely lame that it's almost JULY and we don't have an update that was pushed out in April....
Sent from my LG-LS980 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
They are testing ZVD on the RDF site, I thought it was still on ZVC but someone on S4GRU said to use IE11 because for some reason Chrome is still showing ZVC.
Nice, FINALLY some progress. Now I'm guessing maybe another month before the update, but at least i know it's on the way now?

Until we get the source on the LG website its not anytime soon.
It's going to be quite awhile. Think about how long it was until we received the ZVC update. (after we knew about it)

Does it work with the screen off? I remember earlier versions of Knock-code ported to LS980 needed screen to be turned on for it to work.

Since source code is ready and posted for zvd now...update should be coming soon. If anybody gets it, please let me/us know!!
