In the G2 general thread, I'm seeing that the D802 version is starting to receive the OTA update for knock code now, and iirc the D803 has had it for a few weeks now. Sssooo, even though it'd most likely be speculation, anybody have any good idea when Sprint plans on sending this thing our way? I didn't realize i wanted it until i looked it up and actually saw it in action. ..but it's def a nice addition.

So nobody knows any info on when we'll be getting this i suppose? This update is the only thing keeping me from adding a custom kernel/recovery...so i can just accept the update once it comes with no issue. Would be nice if they finally went ahead and pushed it us carriers. ..was supposed to have it in April....

They are testing ZVD on the RDF site, I thought it was still on ZVC but someone on S4GRU said to use IE11 because for some reason Chrome is still showing ZVC.
Nice, FINALLY some progress. Now I'm guessing maybe another month before the update, but at least i know it's on the way now?

It's going to be quite awhile. Think about how long it was until we received the ZVC update. (after we knew about it)

No. They disabled a lot of the dialer codes starting in UVALH2. So the latest official update already had the vulnerability patched. This is often the case when stuff like this gets publicly released. Its usually already addressed. I mentioned it a couple times in the thread someone started yesterday.
As far as im aware the leaks are still 'on hold' for all devices. Still not sure why Samsung did that though!

Just out of curiosity, did you try clicking on a link, or entering the dialer code to test it out?
Im just curious if they actually did disable the dialer code or if they just prevented it from opening by pressing a link.
FYI, I tried the dialer code and it did still initiate the factory reset, BUT, im also running a sort of hybrid, frankensteined rom where ive been playing with different apks from different leaks. I may have changed something that caused it to work for me.

yup, thats pretty much it. Most of the time we wont hear about an exploit or other security flaws until after the problem has a fix. Its just plain poor judgement to basically advertise a major issue before that.

Thanks for specifying that for me. Kinda surprised though since they disabled many of the dialer codes, figured they would've done this one as well. In the end I assumed itd be one of the two, or both. (The disabled codes I keep mentioning are only partially so. You can still execute them via cmd line).

An easy way to tell if Sprint or LG pushed the update is if the update came from checking update firmware (sprint) or update LG software (LG). Being that sprint doesn't even have the update listed yet I say LG pushed it. All phones from htc to Samsung have two updating options one from manufacturer and one from sprint.

My guess is not any time soon. 4.2.2 is already out and we're still using 4.1.2 and there isn't even a rumor of the update existing. My guess is we'll get the LTE update (without 4.2) when 4.2 itself is long in the tooth.
OP I just got off the phone with T-Mobile they said the update was rolled out today in the afternoon. You can check your settings "about device" and update from there. If you are not stock you need to Odin back to stock. Make sure you do a full factory reset a couple times from the stock recovery after you Odin.
If you boot back up and there is no update available just give customer service a call and ask the tech to manually push it to your device. The update is 4.2
If that doesn't work then all your base are belong to us.

I used to check my phone for updates every day before MultiWindow came out. :-/ A much better solution is to add T-Mobile's Note II update page to your RSS reader, and you'll get the notification from T-Mobile that the update will be pushed later that week. THEN you start checking your phone like crazy.
Also, you'll hear about in XDA, too...

If they are still talking 4.2.2 on February 8, 2014, we have a long wait until 4.4 . They usually have some test builds before they release a rom, and from what I can tell, they haven't even started on 4.4 for this device. NB8 is the latest as referenced in the above post.
N for 2014
B for Feb (2nd month)
8 for 8th day
I would say at the bare minimum, 3 months before 4.4 on this device.

I'm bone stock, not rooted. Took the update last night, and haven't noticed anything worth noting so far. I only seemed to have wifi problems when my router would get rebooted, then all would clear up after a few hours/overnight.
I wonder if there were some changes in there that were necessary for the 4.4 update?

If you do try be careful. The update includes Knox so if you root the wrong way it'll trip the Knox flag, which is currently a permanent thing at the moment.
