ZV9 Update - Sprint LG Optimus G

Sorry if this really doesn't need a new thread but I just got a notification to install the update. Isn't it weird since I'm supposedly already up to date?

Never mind fixed it.
I changed everything in the build.prop from zv8 to zv9. I noticed that when I flashed nocturnal's mod it changed the version number to zv8. So the update kept trying to install even though I was already on v9.

Would you happen to know of any way to keep that upgrade dialog from coming up every 10 minutes?

If you're rooted and on zv9 just update build.prop. if not rooted then you can't.

Im on ZV8, im rooted and unlocked but dont wish to update. I just hate that the dialog box wont stop interrupting me, it also popos up while in not using the phone which wakes the screen and kills my battery while im at work.

[Q]Got OTA and I'm rooted?

How can I be getting the update. If. I'm on juggernaut? Is this possible? It would probably brick my phone?

I'm assuming this is the update for 2.3.6 and wifi calling?
I got the same OTA notification, running Juggernaut 3.7
Did you guys install the update? Or just get a notification?
Sent from my SGH-T989 using Tapatalk
I don't mind updating via OTA (I'm on BeastMod now), but what I don't want to do its lose root and have to restore all the data manually.

It was a notification for the update with an option to install or postpone; I'm going to postpone mine as long as I can....not sure what that update will do being that I'm rooted and on Juggernaut.
I'm sure one of the dev teams will take the OTA and roll it into a ROM so we can get the update and keep everything that we're used to.
I'm still on stock and yet to get update. sucks!

I got the update notification too and I'm also running Juggernaut 3.7.
I'm using the EagleBlood ROM and I received the update notification today. I'm postponing it as long as I can, but is there a way to just reject the update? It's annoying seeing the icon in my notification bar.
Can any of you just pull the link please? It would be a great help to many people. Everyone keeps posting about it and that is not helping anyone.

The update is already rooted and posted. Along with the new basebands.

Yes but not all of us want to use Odin. I am very much aware of its presence in the development section. However, i can assure you that i am not alone in wanting the link/zip.

Link for what? I'm not following you. Are you wanting the actual ota zip? If so, someone who has been notified of the update can use root explorer and go to /data/cache and grab the zip.

I guess someone else tried running this update and it just took them to CMW and didn't give them the update. I just froze "device manager" from TB so i don't have those annoying update arrows. I will wait for the new juggernaut when they update it. I'm in no rush

Tmobile update here then gone.

Okay so this morning I gotta T Mobile update. When I went to run the update it failed. Then when I want to try it again the update was gone all together and said dont updates are being sent out in the order that they are asked 4 or something like that. Well I get the update again? Has anyone else got the update? Can anyone help clear this up?

If you are on lh2 its more than likely the update to lj4 which is the ics update you'll need in order to update to jelly bean when they start pushing that ota out.

This is for the latest ICS update. After seeing that it said something about "in order requested" I realized perhaps the server is just full that is why it wouldnt let me download, so I tried at a early hour and it would let me download over and over. Not sure if the time of day for sure had anything to do with it but figured I would mention just in case it did.
That's weird. You're the second person I heard this from. I'm not trying to run it since I'm running Wicked, but still it's weird. Maybe they found a bug, that's all I can guess...
Both my wife and I have rooted phones and both of us have already downloaded the update but postponed installing it. If anyone knows where it is located on my phone, I'll post a link for whoever wants it

Want to update to zv8, but have a locked bootloader

Hey guys, i want to get the zv8 update since im on zv7 and the keyboard bug is annoying. I have a unlocked bootloader though. Is there a way to relock the bootloader to update? Or should I create a more recent nandroid, use lgnpst to reset it, update, then use custom restore to put just the /data back on?
Sent from my LG-LS970 using xda app-developers app
FreeGee will relock your bootloader.
If you're using CWM, it depends on how you backed it up. Changed from the default .dup and people claim it work. I know TWRP works because thats what I use.
I'm just not sure you should restore from a backup from zv7 to zv8. I think it'll mess things up.
Or you could just wait. There are some ROM's being released VERY soon. As well as the Zv9 update.
I'd wait for the zv9 flash able zip. Or a ROM based on it
Z8 doesn't fix the messaging problem. Supposedly z9 does but there isn't a root or unlocker for it yet

Well the freegee app from the play store is paid, which someone said is the only way to relock it:/ and the update notification keeps popping up while im texting and such.

Anyone Know How To Turn Off The Annoying Update Available Pop-Up Nag Screen?

The title says it. I want to avoid the update for now and the pop-up nag screen is annoying the hell out of me.
Anyone know how to make out go away without root access?

Oh wow. Im sorry, i didn't. Know there as a topic for this already. You mean to tell me i can flash to v9 and keep my unlock so i can use a custom rom? Im new here so I imagined updating would just make me lose any chance i had at installing CM whenever it gets released.

Don't update to ZV9. If you are rooted and unlocked with a recovery then head over to the dev section and flash the rooted ZV9 zip.

I've been fairly busy lately and haven't had a chance to play with the phone. I want to eventually root, but won't have time for a bit. I was hoping for a quick fix to the annoying update nag.

Kernel Crash when camera is opened

Got my sprint LGOG yesterday and took one picture, camera worked. I then rooted the phone and unlocked it. Today went to take a picture and the phone froze then got a screen that said DemiGod crash handler with 3 different options. Anyone else ever get this. I've tried it 3 times now and still crashing.
