Hey guys,
I tried to install DittoNote3 and I also tried to update my modem within the installer.
For some reason Aroma crashed after the install.
Anyway now when I boot the phone I just see the white Samsung Note2 logo.
I've tried download mode and recovery. No luck.
Also when I plug the USB cable I get a battery screen.
When I use Odin I see "0:[COM3]"
But when I try to flash the stock firmware or MI6 bootloader odin just stops at SetupConnection..
Nothing is flashing
I tried this on a Windows XP and Windows 7 PC as Admin. Same thing happens.
I've tried Odin 3.07 and 3.09
Also I tried Kies but it just says "connecting"
Any ideas?
Big thanks in advance!
You could try mskip toolkit that might work. The thread has been closed but the website still works.

Big thanks mate.
Using this tool I have managed to get the Note2 into download mode and Odin to work.
Will be flashing stock firmware shortly.
Thanks!

Tried to install a rooted Kernal using Odin, The first Kernal did not install (froze), so I pulled the battery, and succesfully installed a different one. Now the phone freezes at the Galaxy SII screen with the Yellow Triangle. Tried re-installing several other Kernals, but to no avail.
Was able to boot into CWM 5, clear the phone, and then install Starbright ROM, but phone still freezes at the splashscreen.
I have tried everything I know to do.
Anyone got any recommendations, or am I bricked?
You are no where near bricked. I don't have a link but search the development section for a complete Rom but in .tar format and flash it to your phone via odin. Or find a complete stock Rom in .zip form and flash it via cwm.

Thanks....I tried that method before, and odin kept freezing up when trying map the pit file.
Tried several others also.
I switched to a different windows machine and usb cable and it worked.
Guess Odin is just finicky like that!
Thank you for both of your help.....Tremendously.
dont need a pit file just check the reboot option
New to Samsung(coming from HTC EVO3D). I was trying to install an update(from the wrong forum i9100 FACEPALM). Anyway, now I have an error message that says to use Kies recovery mode. I can't seem to connect to Kies. Someone please give me some tips. Not rooted and was not looking to root. Just want to do some sort of factory reset to get my device back to normal. Any ideas on what or how I should proceed? TIA
Since you flashed the international version your USB is disabled and if I remember correctly can only be fixed by JTAG. If you have a MicroSD card you can still flash by Mobile ODIN - but be careful doing any wipes from an ICS kernel, including any from the stock recovery. Hope that helps.
Figured it now!! flashed a gingerbread stock rom and now I'm all good!
how did you do it? i am having the same problem
You able to get into download mode? If so just download a stock GB rom and flash in Odin.

can you give a little more insight on that? i'm trying to get into download mode, but i'm stuck at a screen that says, "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again."
(kies won't recognize the phone)
before i was at this screen, i was trying to use odin one-click install to get ICS onto an at&t galaxys2 i727.
any help on how i can get back into download mode, or somewhere else where i can do something, would be a big help.
you have to use odin and flash the stock el29 cmw

I actually just encountered this, and I found this way out, I flashed the AGAT recovery with the odin executable.
I rooted my phone without a problem. I installed a rom, and I didn't like it. I decided to go back to the stock rom, but Odin gave me an error. Right now the phone says Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. I can't seem to get into recovery mode, only download mode. Odin is not working though, so what can I do?
I was able to start the phone with the file I used to root. :/
yes, you are soft bricked
flash this in odin. its the stock tar. You can use Odin just plug the phone in while its on that error screen. https://s3.amazonaws.com/test_file_66/root66_TMO_T999UVALH2.7z
Restart odin, if you attempt to use it after a failed flash it won't detect the device.
And make sure u use the cable that come with the phone

Thank you. I wasn't able to use Odin in the computer. I had to use Mobile Odin, and it worked!
My Tab3 (SM-T210R) is stuck in either Download or Recovery mode.
I was loading "prerooted.tar.md5" when Odin 3.07 froze. I let is sit for over an hour, battery was fully charged.
Since then I have tried loading other ROMs like T210RUEMG4 using Odin with no luck. It usually, but not always, gets hung up on "Get Mapping for PIT." I was able to get CWM v6.0.4.5 Recovery to load. Now when I turn on, boot, or reboot the Tab, it only goes to Recovery. If I use CWM to power off, I can make it start in Download mode and Odin will see it, but Odin will not complete a download. I loaded Rocket Tab2.0.zip onto the SD card and installed in recovery mode -- said it installed successfully but still no joy.
I have tried several unbricking methods from this forum. Perhaps I have missed something.
How do I fix this?
Any help would be GREATLY APPRECIATED.
I'd download the stock rom from samfirmware.com and flash it with odin. It should get past the pit file error.

Thanks for your reply.
I did as you suggested, but Odin hangs up while loading the .img files. Sometimes it freezes at hidden.img or cache.img or system.img. I have waited, sometimes for hours, but it won't finish.
I have disable my antivirus and unchecked Auto Reboot in Odin.
Currently, the Tab will only reboot to "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Keis & try again." (I have tried this also. No different.)
Any ideas?

If you want to return to stock, do not uncheck auto reboot.
Also try using a different computer or a different usb port on your computer.
Odin will still work on the screen about the "firmware upgrade encountered".

Thanks for the input.
I switched from an XP machine to freshly loaded win7 machine and it flashed!
Now I have the flicker problem. I've seen a few post on this, so I'll work from there.
Thanks again.

I would start by downloading and flashing the the latest stock firmware using Odin, then just install a custom recovery (such as CWM or TWRP) and use the root.zip included in those threads.

Got it back to stock using Keis "Firmware Upgrade and Initialisation" then used Odin for CWM and the armeabi-universal-root, all on a Win7 machine.
Worked like a charm. Sweet.
All help very much appreciated.
hello
plz help me !!
i did something wrong with mobile odin pro. now its stuck on samsung galaxy note 2 gt-n7100 screen
and im not able to boot into recovery just i can boot into download but odin dont see my phone
what can i do plz?
Perhaps a driver / odin issue. Try a different computer, different versions of odin, different cables. If you had odin working before this then I suppose it's a long shot, but what with kies busting out halfway I would be skeptical about my cable, usb port or rom download, etc.
As far as I know its kies, odin or a jtag repair.
Odin

Usually when you soft-brick your phone, you can always use odin via PC to flash a firmware to fix it. Seems like your mobile odin stuffed up the recovery, and you can't factory reset (sometimes this solves the problem in boot loops). Just grab a PC, an official firmware, Odin and flash!!!
