As read on : http://huaweinews.com/2014/02/ascend-p6-kitkat-delayed/
Many of you were asking us when Huawei is going to roll out Android 4.4 KitKat update to the ever popular Ascend P6. Huawei promised the customers that Ascend P6 will get KitKat in January this month but that never happened – http://huaweinews.com/2014/01/ascend-p6-emotionui-2-3/. Then the time frame was pushed to February after we got a official beta firmware leak on January 30th - http://huaweinews.com/2014/01/android-4-4-beta-ascend-p6/. For those of you asking us by comments and emails about ETA we have responded to you by saying the update will come this month for sure but now it seems like we are wrong.
We are receiving reports that Android 4.4 KitKat update for Ascend P6 is delayed until early March and that news is for the Chinese Unicom version of the P6. We all know that Huawei gives the latest updates first to the Chinese region and international customers gets it later. But since Ascend P6 is a success for Huawei that might change with this update and Huawei might push the update internationally at the same time as they release it for China. But judging from the past experiences it will take at least few more days if not weeks for Huawei to deliver the update outside China.
We might get another leaked firmwares in the meantime and there is a possibility that Huawei will announce the update at MWC 2014 which is scheduled to happen on 24 to 27 this month. But we don’t have solid information on that yet. After Huawei releases the Unicom final stable firmware you will be able to flash that on your International Ascend P6 without a problem without waiting for the international firmware release, but that requires some knowledge and if you are a regular reader of HuaweiNews.com you know we have got you covered

Considering we are on Feb 13th already I don't see this as an issue. The article reads "Early March" so if that's the case we are 2 weeks away. When I had the Galaxy S3 they moved the 4.2.2 Update deadline several times until it was skipped to go to 4.3.
Anyways I hope it comes on "Early March"....

So we can maybe get new leaked KitKat in next 24h :good:
This looks great
http://tieba.baidu.com/p/2882430410
I saw this somewhere.
Apparently a beta tester posted an image of their update to a stable kitkat beta on the 22nd. I think we aren't getting it because only the beta users get the update pushed via their IMEI number. We'll just have to hope they post it and share.
I'll translate again, but remember, this is an interpretation, not necessarily accurate!
1st picture:
- Is just saying the update is for P6-U06, don't blame if the phone screws up because it is a beta;
- Download button
2nd picture:
Fixes seem to include:
[System]
- Optimize/Stabilize the system
- Optimize the workload of system
- Fix the issue with playing tudou.com videos
- Fix the issue with display images on search Sohu
[Lockscreen]
- Fix the lockscreen "bookmark" ability? <-- I have no idea.... Maybe we can add widgets to lockscreen now with password? Not sure....
3rd Picture:
[Contacts]
Optimized, Dialing speed number ability added
[Notifications]
- Floating Notifications should work now (i.e. facebook chatheads)
[Bluetooth]
Picture is cut off D: and this is the last picture. I wish there was more to this.
-----------------------
Anyways, I hope this can help. Can't wait to get my hands on a stable kitkat
hmm sounds exiting !
but when will we receive the international version ?? i just updated to 125 .. i had sooooo much trouble with wifi with the previous firmware ..
will see how the 125 performs ...
waiting for the kitkat !!

This forum topic is dedicated to the P6 and Mate, so obviously they have to be somehow "compatible", otherwise it wouldn't be a shared topic.
In what way are they similar (I can also read the tech specs, so that's not what I mean)? I'm actually referring to the pending 4.4.2 release for the P6, while nobody mentions the same upgrade for the Mate. Is anything like that coming? Is the release of the P6 4.4.2 a lead-in to the same release for the Mate?
I'm also a bit confused on the developer section of this forum. Again, in the Mate topic, almost everything deals with the P6.
Anyone care to explain to a Huawei Mate owner who desperately needs >= 4.3 to do some experimenting with BLE?
TIA all
Basically, all you have is the Mate Development section.
There is however some shared projects since the hardware is so alike, like Cyanogenmod.
At the moment, no 4.3 for Mate nor P6.
We wouldn't know if you guys are getting kitkat since the Chinese are a bit puzzling when it comes to dates or manuals.
But I am sure once we got official kitkat for P6, someone could port it over. I am pretty sure I'll be able to, problem is I don't have a device nor the confidence to ask someone else to test my untested work.

Thx PulseDroid, partly answers my question.
I was referring to this thread: 4.4.2 KitKat beta for P6.
So basically, it seems P6 is getting straight into 4.4 (skipping 4.3). And hence my question was: if P6 and Mate are so alike, when and if at all, can we expect this for the Mate?
I am not necessarily in need of a custom ROM (although I have installed several ones in my Xperia Neo days), I just want the BLE integrated into the Mate to work (which it can not until 4.3).
We wouldn't know if you guys are getting Kitkat since the Chinese are a bit puzzling when it comes to dates or manuals.
We don't know. - Most likely but there is no evidence for us to be certain.
Yes the P6 is skipping 4.3. - Most devices did this, a lot of the more well known manufactures also did this.
So, we don't know when / if you will get 4.4.x for the Mate. - But even if not, Developers here on XDA might be able to port it over to the Mate.
Mate will most likely get it. I remember reading that there were a couple of phones besides P6, that was promised to get update to Emui2.0 (assuming that they bring Android 4.4 with Emui2.0, and not just emui2.0), and i remember the P2 and A199 included among it. Im not sure Mate was named but it most likely would be part of the batch to get update. Yet note that since P6 is Huawei's "flagship", the P6 gets updates sooner. And since the specs are nearly same then i guess they are first waiting to get a stable release on P6 and then move it to other phones like Mate, Honor 3, D2, that all use similar chip.
Hello.
I have a question about 1.4 update. Will Sony or Google give our watches this update?
Or is it possible to manually create/build this update?
I'm asking because, I'm from Poland and I wait for the Polish language
My English isn't too good and this is my first post on XDA so please understand me.
Thanks for your help

Hello! Welcome to XDA community
As far as I know the update is issued by Google themselves, not Sony, so we just have to wait. I've read somewhere that one of the Sony officials (from Sony Germany I think) wrote that the update will be out before 15th April. It's pretty freaking late because Android Wear 1.4 is out for almost two months now.
I'm also waiting for Polish language

Have you got any sources that state that the AW 1.4 update is coming before the 15th April? I'm sorry if i sound skeptic, but I'm looking forward to buying this watch (as in Italy it now costs 140 euros, which is pretty cheap), but the whole update thing kinda scares me away...
A few things about android updates...
They happen when they happen. Whatever rumors we get are just that, rumors
Eventually these watches will be phased out of updates, but that has not happened yet, and should not for at least the next generation or two (this speculation based on Android's close to two year update support)
This watch has many hardware oddities that make it take longer for some updates (this is one), and some of those are why I enjoy this watch
There is a thread on the general forum about this. There are official links confirming the update is coming. When, now that is a different story.

Just saw the announcement thread on HUAWEI Chinese forum, they are recruiting alpha testers for EMUI 5.0.
Following model users can participate in the alpha test:
BLN-AL10
BLN-TL10
BLN-TL00
Maybe users from overseas can enjoy EMUI 5.0 in very near future.

I doubt that there would be any early release or a leaked EMUI 5. Some users in China flashed a so called "Russian" version leaked EMUI 5 image and face some serious issues, like cannot turn on/off, app cannot start. Currently the only solution is to bring your phone to customer services...
So I suggest anyone out there not flash any ROM not from an authorized HUAWEI source.

I have not seen many UMI brand phones which have released source codes, but I was wondering if you have any plans of releasing the kernel sources and/or full sources for this device.
I am looking to buy this phone, but I would like to be able to compile my own kernel and ROM for the devices I own

The new Ulefone Gemini Pro was presented last week on MWC 2017.

This phone also has a X27 SoC, but it is already running Android 7.0.
So Mediatek released Nougat-drivers for X27 a few weeks ago to Ulefone.

This makes me sad.
Well its quite possible some dev could work some magic , bet the main boards are not too different from a reference board by mediatek , umi spec has well known components for screen and camera so possible to hack a port from same soc or even just tweak a few drivers and swap kernal ...we need a dev

Not from UMI, there are phones with mtek socs running nougat , there seems to be phones with other components the same running nougat. So the ingredients are out, problem is cooking this into a working ROM would be a big job.
I recall when mm came out my HTC had a hacked together version that worked quite well, but the source for loli was out so there was a starting point.
Linage os would clearly be the place to start , find a mtek soc based ROM an hack I guess, beyond me , but someone who understands could prob work something
Not in a million years

Since updating to 10.1.0.258 I have a speaker issue. It's the bottom speaker and it sounds distorted. Top speaker is loud and clear. I thought it was blown so I replaced the speaker only to have the same problem. So I believe it is a software issue.
Anyone else have this problem or heard of a fix?
Thanks in advance.

I have an issue with the speakers since Emui 11. Everytime when I hear music through the speakers (no matter how loud) and the phone produce different sound than music (for example keyboards tones or the sound of some notification or even the klick sound when the phone turn off or turn on), then the music switch to this no bass speakers protection mode automatically. It get back to normal when i press the volume button up or down, but it's definitely a bug and it bothers me.
Small fix: If one of the Sound Effects are on, then this problem don't occurs.
