Question - Galaxy Ace II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Well, I got a 16 GB SD Card, so Im finally rooting my phone and exchaning internal with external SD.
The problem is I got ALOT of games, and I got alot of advance in some of these, so what would happen if I swap internal with external SD?
Like, what do I do to not lose any progress or not having the need to uninstall and then install the games.

before swapping sdcards(JB):
-move data and obb folders from from /storage/sdcard0/Android to /storage/sdcard1/Android
-make sure no apps are 'moved to sdcard'

or backup your games with titanium backup or super backup (makes sure you use root privileges)

[q] need to free up space on internal sd card

I need to make room on my internal and even on my external sd card, i have made backups using titanium backup... all i need to know is what folder contains those backups and what folders have my saved games including glu, gameloft, etc
The game data on your SD is only thongs like textures music etc. Delete all of that, it will are download when you load the game again. The folder wothbyour titanium backups should be labeled titanium backup.
Is there any way to make your SD card as a default storage for everything? I did it with my pictures and stuff, but apps keep installing straight to the phone.

You can't install everything on SD Card. Even when you move applications to SD, they will only transfer partially. Why do you want to move it all to SD ? You should have about 2 GB almost entirely dedicated for your apps.

[Q] Internal storage space used for SD apps?

Hey,
As probably lots of you guys, I suffer from a lack of internal storage space (180mb, where 150mb was already taken after 2 hours of usage, having only installed 2-3 apps :s). As I want to avoid having to mount my SD in some tropical ways, I try to install as much as possible on the SD.
I however noticed that installing apps on SD also uses some internal storage? E.g. after installing Cut The Rope & Angry Birds, both apps +- took 30mb each on the SD, but also 5mb on the internal storage.
Is this normal?
Also, if you guys have any hints on how to decrease internal usage, you're welcome.. (already installed cache cleaners, no pics are on the internal storage, ..)
Thanks in advance!
Sven
the solution is to create a ext4 partition in sd card and use link2sd app available in play store, but after some time the memory will get full aswell.
another method is int2ext4 script that increase the internal storage and the internal memory will stay clean but you must have a good sd card atleast a class 6 : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1716124
you must have a rooted phone to use these things

thanks!
I've read some stuff on both options, isn't link2sd a more 'dynamic' & safe option? You can specify manually which app you run on your internal/sd, allowing you to keep the most important apps on the faster internal storage?
If you use link2sd & choose to link EVERY app to the external sd, wouldn't that also cause the internal memory to be +- empty?
link2sd is better but after some time the internal memory will get full.
if you install a ton of apps and games use int2ext4 (without the +)

because you just use link2sd like usually user do, there is more way you can do with link2sd that make you have more bigger storage
folow this Link2sd More Advanced. this trick can be use for stock too.
if you using link2sd than 2nd partition using fat32 file type :victory:

[Q]Swap internal memory with external sd-card on KitKat

On all my other devices I was able to make the system believe the internal memory is the external SDcard... and that my external SD card was the internal memory
so I had a 64 GB tablet.
Never had any issues or obvious loss of speed...
Now I have installed my standard apps and the game Xcom and 16 GB are used up... can't move any more to the SD
Any way to do this on the P605 with 4.4.2?
I'm towelrooted
Sent from my SM-P605 using XDA Premium HD app
I believe you can use the app Foldermount to do that, or manually relink the drives via Terminal.
Sent from my SM-P600
As the previous post suggested, get the paid version of foldermount and you can pretty much move (i.e. link) any folder to the SD card without android throwing a fit. I linked the Downloads folder and all of my game obb folders to the SD card and I have plenty of space left on the internal storage now.
FolderMount Problem
Okay i have FolderMount on my android 4.4.2, but when i choose to open ''storage/sdcard1 or sdcard0'' it doesn't show nothing inside (on the foldermount) ! HELP ?! D:
I am confused. What is the point of fooling the system into believing that the external sdcard is the internal memory? I heard that the sdcard is slower than internal one.
Is FolderMount an app to work around the KitKit unable to save to sdcard issue?

Ive been using folder mount since it came out.It does not make anything slower for me.I have 128gb micro sd card and it runs fine.I have alot of games and most are over a gig. With folder mount im able to put everything on external microsd card and play the games from there.I only have 16gb on tablet with about 30 gb worth of game data, so without foldermount I wouldn't be able to fit all the games on tablet. That's why its good to fool the sytem. Hope some of that helped you better understand.

You cannot use the system partition as it's reserved for the OS.Don't mess up with it, doing so may/will brick your phone If you are on Stock or ANY ROM with App2SD support you can move apps to External SD Card. Check whether your ROM supports App2SD or not.

I can't, that's why, app2sd move em' to "sdcard0" which means (in my phone) emulated/0/ (Folder) and not to the external sd card. Already tryied many ways and still same, and well so.
What i wanted to do? as "system" is the internal storage i wanted to merge it with "emulated" which is the internal storage but in a partition to emulate a External SD Card so if its only 1 internal storage the microSD will work as it should work, because on my older phone(Ice mobile apollo touch) I was able to see apps, data, etc, on microsd as only had 1 internal storage.. Now as the sdcard is even in the internal , the external is empty. Its a problem too for cracked applications that need data/obb.

4.2.2 supossed to be stock, downloaded from sammobile to my operator/country as my ROM was literaly "f*ck*d" for a stupid thing i did so.
I just searched GT-i9080L and the latest android(4.2.2) was the one i downloaded, btw, the partition came with the phone, wasn't made by me or a rom and also, the phone didn't come new, i bought it from 2nd hand.
In Grand Internal memory will be shown as sdcard0 and External memory will be shown as sdcard1. Is external storage i.e. Sdcard1 mounting for you?

If i use a explorer i can only see 2. SDCard and internal memory, if i search through internal memory i'll find a folder called emulated, inside, another called 0, inside, all the things that should be on sdcard, which means that this "emulated" emulates a sdcard inside the phone. and yeah, external sd = sdcard1.
internal sd(emulated) = sdcard0
internal memory = internal memory o.o
External is actually /extSdcard on stock ROMs afaik.

I know right, but it isn't used as Sdcard, the sdcard that it uses its a emulated sdcard INSIDE the internal memory.

Swap Internal SD with External card.

Hello.
What I have:
- SM-P605 on android 4.4.2 - rooted
- 32gb SD card formated as FAT32
What is my Goal?
Around 12gb internal space for installation is for me not enough. I have external sd card 32gb and I want to use it as a place where I can install games and apps.
I have tried few applications which "move" game data but they do not move all the data only installation folder (Hearthstone- apps move only 58mb and game has over 2gb used space)
I saw some tutorial how to swap internal sd with external by modification of vold.fstab but it was only for older system versions(or I do not know what to change to make it work)
Tried to change install location by adb using command: adb shell pm set-install-location 2 but it do not work, games and apps still use internal memory.
I do not want to install any other rom since I like stock rom, but if anyone could help me in this problem I would be grateful.
Thanks in advance.
Best Regards.

I have a 128 gb sd card and use the app root folder mount. The app basically does everything for you. It mounts the folder to the microsd card. If you google it and go to the xda forums youll find it and it explains how it works. I have at least 50 gb of game data stored on it and all my games work fine.
