Kinda, base bands are different. Which baseband you currently on? If its mk5, then check HERE. Sprint ROMs will work, but if you wanna kitkat ROM, you have to change some assert lines using c++ notepad, then rezip the ROM.
sent from my GS3
Sprint roms will work, but there may be some issues like MMS, etc.

Hi I'm sorry if this has already been answered , but is it safe to just flash any sprint/boost Rom to the Sprint version of the s3 ? Again it is flashed to Boost currently , so would putting a boost ROM instead of "modified" sprint stock ROM work ?
Sorry if it sounds confusing I just wanted to clear that up, in my eyes I'm figuring that since it is sprint, and flashed to boost, installing a new ROM would mess with the flash and put it back to sprint, which of course we don't want.
I just wanted to double check with the community before flashing away, thanks in advance for any answers.

I believe it would work just fine, i recently flashed a stock sprint ROM to my out of box Boost S3, Problem here is you might find it difficult getting Boost Stock ROMs especially the JB 4.3. you might also want to do NAM Backup before you proceed in flashing.

With the hacked Wi-Fi hotspot.
You need to read about each rom........then your question will be answered.
Hey thanks!.........
A stock rom
The closest to stock I found for 4.4.2 was Blazed ROM. It hasn't been rid of boat. Wi-Fi works too, I use it and use fennys updated kernel and WiFi hack. The blazed ROM comes with fennys first kernal.

You can hack the stock rom pretty easily to get the WiFi hotspot hack. You just need root and a little work: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=52794746&postcount=166

I also have a MetroPCS s4.. It fine to go ahead and use any rom from this thread..I also tried the i9505 roms. . Is compatible with our s4... currently running pheonix rom with all the s5 features. .. wireless tethering works great to. ..
I need to find a stock updated rooted T-Mobile rom that works. Any ideas?
Found fennys, but it doesn't work properly
I have a doubt, if for example my s2 is sph-710bst, can install a firmware to him sph-710 sprint u other firmware?

Yes you can, although you might need to make carrier-specific changes to get working MMS

I had the boost variant..now its my mothers..lol
But yes you can flash any sprint rom just fine..i also found that i had better service with sprint modems. Although it only goes one way with the modems. Boost can use sprint..but sprint i dont think can use boost.
And you will need to change your apn's to have data and mms working. There are different ways to do this, depending if you flash touchwiz or a cm, aokp, aosp based rom.
A quick google should supply the boost apn settingsā¦ as i dont remember all of them. And there are guides, myself and others here to help with the how to if you need it.
There was a zip file to fix boost apns at one time.. but i think it became outdated or unusable..as i had it but always just edited them myself. Its very easy.
Link to the old mms fix zip for boost. Not sure if its still viable. But my mother has this device and i will be at her house next monday. So i can post her mms settings then..if you need them.
i have the sprint variant dubbed "SM-N910P" it has the SnapDragon chip in it. Does anyone know if all "Snapdragon" Roms in this thread will work on the Sprint Variant or should I be looking specifically for the "SM-910P" Roms?
Thanks
You need a ROM specific to the sprint version. There are only 3 stockish ROMs to date. I am hoping to work with the developer of the x-note to bring that to sprint. We'll see.

I inquired about the N4 Echoe Rom v2 and it will not work because of the lack of mobile data, not sure about any of the other roms.

Is it just the mobile data that is preventing it from working. Flashing according radios wouldn't help would it? Thank you both for the reply. No one wanted to answer
I had ported x-note and got data to work. There are a bunch if file you have to move over from a sprint working base. You have to edit the build.prop file as well. I never got MMS to work and prl and profile would not open.

Its a sprint s3 from FreedomPop with their weird rom. Can I use this phone on another carrier? Do I need to flash a different firmware or ROM?
what is the model number? Should say under the battery
The model for it is SPH-L710.

rwilco.com has some solid links for the tar.md5s. I bought a prepaid sch-i545 (verizon s4) and it had its own weird rom for it, even said a different build # in the about phone section. I flashed the stock i545 rom in odin and its now a regular vzw S4. The same will likely hold true for the L710
heres the link, you can pick your poison http://rwilco12.com/downloads.php?dir=Files/Devices/Samsung Galaxy S3 (SPH-L710)/Stock ROMs
Do I use Odin to flash it?

You use Odin to flash tar.md5s and recovery to flash zips
Phone works perfectly now. Flashed nj2 with Odin. Then flashed a recovery and wicked s5 2.2. thanks.
You're welcome! Be sure to hit thanks for those who helped!
are you able to get LTE with the aicp ROM also on the wicked s5 2.2 when it says 4g does that mean LTE? Also I'm trying to get one of the roms working on the sprint mnvo Iwireless.

Yes, the 4g icon does mean LTE. I'm running a ROM that my friend compiled and where I live there isn't sprint LTE and I'm using a at&t sim in my phone
Is there a APN fix or something to get LTE working for aicp? So far its my favorite other than only 3g data working. Also if I switch to LTE it says in the sim status that voice and data are lte. Just no mobile connection.

Refresh my memory, are you running LP or mm?
Right now I am using aicp mm. Only problem with it is occasional lag and the lte not working. What Rom did/do you use?
Thanks for the awesome help. I think I'm sticking with wicked s5 2.2 for now. It looks like it just seems to work and has the added bonus of being able to over clock and underclock a little. Ran into a few annoying bugs in aicp that's known but not fixed yet. (No 4g and forced into speaker phone)

Oh, no problem. Sorry for the delay here, but 4g should work on aicp. What baseband are you on?
Baseband is Nj2

I'm on nd8 and I don't have any issues flashing any rom or weirdness with features not working. My daily driver is a g900p and the same issue with the most recent baseband exists there too. I'll drag my L710 out and see what's what on it. Gonna be a lil bit tho. Household stuff to attend to
oops, im on MK3!! Ive run tons of ROMs on this baseband and havent ever had an issue. I dont have sprint LTE where i live, but ive been to places where there is sprint LTE and this baseband/modem/radio version has worked perfectly. The newest baseband isnt always best
there are many posts saying exactly what you said. Just they said nj2 was working fine and ah1 baseband doesn't work well. Also I'm not sure if you can downgrade firmware after mk something.
