Sprint S3 Flashed to Boost Question - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S III

Hi I'm sorry if this has already been answered , but is it safe to just flash any sprint/boost Rom to the Sprint version of the s3 ? Again it is flashed to Boost currently , so would putting a boost ROM instead of "modified" sprint stock ROM work ?
Sorry if it sounds confusing I just wanted to clear that up, in my eyes I'm figuring that since it is sprint, and flashed to boost, installing a new ROM would mess with the flash and put it back to sprint, which of course we don't want.
I just wanted to double check with the community before flashing away, thanks in advance for any answers.

I believe it would work just fine, i recently flashed a stock sprint ROM to my out of box Boost S3, Problem here is you might find it difficult getting Boost Stock ROMs especially the JB 4.3. you might also want to do NAM Backup before you proceed in flashing.

[Q] Help with flashing modem on att note 2

Last month I rooted my att note 2 and installed Twrp and the jedi X 13 rom. I noticed today that my wife's note 2 on the stock att rom has much faster data speeds. So I decided to check the baseband version and found she was on mca4 while I'm still on ucalk7. I'm almost positive that this is the reason my data speeds are slower but would like to know for sure. And if so, can I just flash the modem and ril file without touching the custom rom? And also can you point me to the proper files to flash?
Thanks,
Wade
We cannot help you here. Contact a mod to move this post to att note 2 forums. This is the sprint note 2 forums. We are cdma. Sorry.

Solved
1st, I wanna thank the mod for moving this to the right place. I had a brain fart yesterday and posted it in the Sprint forums. So thank you!!
2nd, I solved the problem with my data speeds and it had nothing to do with the modem. At&t had my phone identified on their network as a iphone 3gs somehow, so I was never on the LTE network and therefore wasn't getting the LTE data speeds.
However, through troubleshooting this I was able to find the information needed to update my baseband to the newest one without any problems and can confirm the Jedi X 13 rom works great on an LTE network in case anyone was wondering.
I love this forum and have learned a lot through reading and wanna thank everyone for all the good work!!
Thanks,
Wade
Great job Wade!

Hi guys,
I tried to figure this all out. I am on a Samsung Note 3 - i317 - Android 4.1.2 - UCAMC3.
I am in Germany from time to time and need to unlock it. I actually talked to AT&T many times, but those morons are not able to unlock it (seriously!!)! The last person I talked to said: "Why don't you just unlock it yourself, there is plenty of help on the internet". So I take that as a permission to root and flash.
However, I rooted it yesterday and I read that to unlock it I need the J3 modem. Now my question is, can I just flash the J3 modem, unlock it and then flash back to UCAM3 / do the latest OTA update afterwards? I have TWRP on the phone.
Is there anything else I need to watch out for? Please give me hints if I am on the right track.
Thanks guys!!
[EDIT] OK, so I just did it! I flashed the J2 Modem and tried the unlock. It worked! Just flashed back my CAMC3 Modem and everything is great. Thanks to those who work hard on getting all this stuff lined up for us dummies!!!
BTW your not on a note 3 lol

Your rooted phone won't get stock updates.
Hi guys,
HAHA ... yeah, of course I meant Note2 ... :silly:
Thanks for the hint that it won't get stock updates. I actually just found that out because I tried to install the OTA update.
So one last question for now:
I just downloaded the newest H3 modem and flashed it with TWRP. My system info now shows:
Baseband version: I317UCAMH3
Build number JZO54K.I317UCAMC3
Is it normal that build and baseband differ? I saw a screenshot somewhere else and the build had the CAMH3 version as well. Did I do something wrong or is that normal?
Thanks guys for all your help!! :good:
Your fine. Build is rom related not modem man.

Baseband and firmware generally read the same. ..unless you flash a different setup. ..
Modem or firmware separately from one another. .
The device won't care unless they are not compatible code. ..
Simply verify the files to make sure they are for this device and your good. ..
And of course you should always read the instructions for the files just in case the developer requirements changed for some reason. ..g

you re fine! Baseband has nothign to do with your build number. Build number generally means what rom base you are on. you re good to go. I think everyone is rocking the H3 modem right now and speeds vary depending where you are geographically but the WIFI data speeds are a little faster.
Thanks guys for the feedback!!
It's working great. Really seems to be much faster on WIFI. I didn't do speedtests, but it just feels faster.

[Q] boost mobile s3

Not sure where to put this but I just got the official boost mobile s3. I am curious if it can be rooted the same way as the sprint model or if it needs a new method.
I believe you can use THIS method. I would double check on the thread just in case.
EDIT : This should also be in Q / A
EDIT: According to the post HERE it works.
Moved to Q&A
would you be able to upload a stock rooted rom of your boost s3,I have a sprint flashed one and believe flashing a boost rom would fix my issues such as mms/vm

yes...you can use the same method to root the boost mobile sgs3 as the sprint version or you can use this link to flash sprint's md4 stock rom and then flash any sprint sgs3 rom that you like. note DO NOT FLASH ANY INTERNATIONAL ROMS ON YOUR PHONE CAUSE YOU'LL BRICK THE HECK OUT OF IT AND IT'S IMPOSSIBLE TO FIX IT......sorry i can not post any link do to that I'm new posting on xda but you cand search for the stock rotted md4 rom and that should be the best way to root your boost galaxy s3.

[Q] S3 stock firmware etc problems..

hello,
i recently bought my sasung galaxy s3 from t-mobile (in Holland).
after like 2 weeks i decided to root it and try and install the android 2.3 rom on it.

I also cannot do software update becouse it says im running something custom,
if someone could telle me what to do to really bring it back to stock evething that would be great!
if you need more info thenn ask
It sounds like you have the I9300 or I9305. Look under the battery to be sure. If so, you need to go to the forum for that device, as nothing here will help you and most of us know little about your model.

I use Tmobile and I got the phone for free and unlocked it I want the stock t mobile cause I use wifi calling.
If you don't mind describing what T-Mobile ROM you flashed on the AT&T SGH-i747 that would be great... I was considering this too. What Modem and Kernel did you use as well. Or possibly post the thread you did this from.
Thanks

Looking for AT&T KK port

Sorry if this is addressed elsewhere but i could not find it.
I have a T999. I moved out of TMO coverage and changed to straight talk using AT&T. Everything (call data) works great.
I am looking for a AT&T Kit Kat TW stock port if there is one out there. I looked in the Dev pages and didn't find any.
I can build it if I need to. but need to know, can I just take the stock AT&T rom and change the modem and flash with ODIN or with a custom recovery?
Right now I'm newest stock rooted. I used to do a lot, but it's been a while.
Never flash firmware from another device. Currently there is only likewise. TMS3KK will be out very soon. I've got an NE4 port in the works but just haven't been home much so haven't finished it.
You can flash AT&T roms, but unless properly ported you may have some issues, primarily with the network.
Thanks ... I figured all the radios would be broke. Didn't know if there was any other difference.
I can wait a bit ...
In the at&t section there's a 442 system dump. Its what I've been running. Flashes, runs fine on latest t999 radio
Here ya go. Just flash Ktoonz kernel after ROM.
