Hi guys
My two years old xperia s is doing so bad in the sun light or indoors if there was light
But before I sleep I use my phone like under the blanket lol and my phone turns into xperia z1
Can anyone explains this?
I think it's the light sensor so if we figured out how to disable/enable the sensor I think our phones can perform much better...
So if you know how to do this please tell me
P.s: I'm under the blanket now and my phone is superb

Same here!! Im under the blanket watching some movies in 1080p 60 fps

I glued a piece of paper on the sensor so the XS thinks its under the blanket

And I tried putting something on the sensor and it didn't work

Mine is normal too. Have you guys increased the brightness to 50% or more in the sunlight? Because it might seem very dark with low brightness.
Sent from my LT26i using xda app-developers app
Mine is normal too. Light will affect the hardware? it seems unlikely.
It is because of the photons and tje wave length of the light

normal for me too.but sounds weird.so who needs a xperia z1.get a blanket

omg omg 4k video works under the blanket if you use a case on your phone. this is amazing. i believe sony put a hidden quantum fluctuation sensor located near the standard lightwave sensor but they put them so near to each other that they were causing conflict during the daylight.
this is the most exciting easter egg discovery in technology since the 3D game in excel years back
im going to try and make a mini nuclear reactor and then induce a particle collision to see if the resulting radiation enables even faster operation.
i have a feeling that the official sony line will be to deny its inclusion for legal purposes probably but i want to say thanks to them, , sony always look after us

Camera, Screen (Reality Display in the Arc vs. run of the mill LCD in Play), HDMI out, Design, Dev community... All that is bigger and better in the Arc.
The Play has the embedded gamepad.

Check out the ZTE Era it's better than this phone and Xperia Play excluding the gamepad of course lol. Before this Grand X came out the reason why I was so excited was because of the ZTE Era's specs I mean just look at that, it screams "Most Advanced Gaming Phone on the planet" if they had added a gamepad!. Lol, if we want to get into that, there's likely a hundred phones out by now that have better specs than Xperia Play.
...but that "exclude the gamepad" is a very important loss. When you exclude the gamepad, you're back in the "touch-screen gaming ghetto" that keeps all the other phones held back.
This part isn't direct attack on you or anything Blessi; but on a general note, I feel that all these spec-counters are getting so wrapped up in numbers that logic escapes their thought process entirely. We can talk, hypothesize, and conceptualize about how Xperia Play's "behind the curve" all day long, but what happens in practice matters more than talking, hypothesizing, and conceptualizing (all of which fall under "guesses"). What's that mean when it still manages to run software with great performance? By the rules of the terminology, hardware that's adequate at running software is not obsolete.
So what we really have is hardware that's not bad as it is... and a gamepad bonus that's currently unparalleled by any other attempt to add hardware controls to smartphone gaming.

The framerate makes it unplayable for me at stock, it's just too much of a distraction.
I'm waiting on a gameloft update. (sigh)
However, with faux and game booster app it plays pretty good with a decent framerate , but still annoys me that it's still not the framerate it should be & not what iOS users get.
Stock users - I'd say not to bother yet, as the framerate is choppy hell.

Sorry, (in the nicest way possible) .... you must be blind if you think the framerate is ok .
Go have a look at the trailer on the play store, that's how it's supposed to run.
Everyone I've spoken to has mentioned the very poor framerate, even android police the other day mentioned it to be 'definitely choppy' in the pre-review.
It's not Tegra 3 compatible, not really.
It runs at terrible framerates on both my Nexus 7 & HOX.
It may work, but we have to wait on Gameloft for the fix.
This game doesn't even run completely smooth at all on base 2.05, faux kernel and game booster app - stock 1.29 has no chance.
......
Unless your using a U.S snapdragon S4 version, not sure how it runs on that HOX.

Probably man,i don't realy know what to say,i will compare it tomorow with my Ipad to see how it runs, but for me it's ok,i mean,i've noticed that all consumers lately want everything to be perfect, not realising that we are running on our phones games that are larger than NFS:Underground or NFS:Underground 2 which we played a few years back on the PC or PS and we were totaly satisfied about them, even if they weren't perfect.Probably that it isn't optimized for the Tegra 3,lately Gameloft didn't perfect theyr games and haven't worked as much as they did in the past on the games. But,in theyr defence,we did pay 1$ for it,i mean, lets be serious,we can't expect great things for a buck man.

Lol, that may be true for NFS, but the size of gameloft games are wayyyyy too big in size.
To think Torchlight is under 600mb for the PC, makes you wonder how a racing game for a phone could be 1.3gb. - ouch.
i don't think the price of an app is an excuse for poor coding - the game shouldn't have been released yet, not in its current state.
I've heard the SGS3 also has framerate issues with this game (just not and severe as most of GL games for Tegra3 devices) and that's operating on a year old GPU, so it shouldn't have optimisation issues - but even here, it does.
But, HOPEFULLY - they will release a fix soon, and not wait a month like they did for batman on Tegra 3.
Sadly, gameloft ain't like madfinger who will respond to you quickly and issue a fix quickly if it's their problem.

Yeah, unfortunaly i've sent an email to them regarding the accelerometer problems, sayd they will investigate the problem, but so far,nothing...i am not an expert programmer,i understand some codes, but i mean, how hard can an accelerometer problem be to solve it?
Luckly that i've got used with the touchscreen "virtual buttons",otherwise i wouldn't played this game.
As for the size of them,i maybe saying something stupid....but...aren't the guys at gameloft using Unity to make the graphics like the guys who made Dead Trigger?I tried like 1 or 2 years ago Unity and the graphics made with that program always use to much space.
Reached championship 9 so far .
Yeah, I think android police agreed with most of us.
Hopefully, gameloft will take note with some bad publicity & make a quick fix.
It definitely seems to be affecting all android devices.
Gameloft should definitely come with a disclaimer warning that it is optimized for iOS only.
Android Police said:
Graphics And Performance
Even with the above foibles, Asphalt 7 could be a good game. The deal breaker for me is the overwhelming mediocrity of the graphics. Judging from the screenshots on the Play Store page, this should be a gorgeous game. Instead, it's just average. Even then, only on some devices. On the Nexus 7 the texture resolution is absolutely terrible. Everything in the environment looks muddy. The cars aren't bad, but there is noticeable aliasing along the edges.
I also looked at things on the Galaxy Nexus, and the textures were a little better. I was still not impressed with the overall fuzziness of the roads and buildings, though. The jaggies are not as prevalent here, possibly because the screen is smaller, and I can't see them as well. For whatever reason, performance is questionable on both devices. Both will get a spot of lag from time to time, and the Nexus 7 seems to have a lower frame rate The brightness also looks too high, making the game oddly washed-out. There are a few places that I could barely see where I was going because the gentle blue track markers blended in too well with the background. Turning my device's brightness down did nothing to fix this. I could also see distant objects drawing as I rocketed along. That should not happen on any modern device.
For 1.4GB of game data, I expected stunning graphics. I really feel like some of the smaller Need For Speed games look better than this. Asphalt 7 is not ugly, but it's just not pretty like the screenshots would lead you to believe.
Conclusion
On the surface, Asphalt 7 is a fine game. The controls are solid, and there are plenty of tracks and race types. I can even deal with the in-app purchases because they don't seem exploitative. This is essentially a $7 game that you can have for $0.99, so dropping a few dollars on better cars seems alright. The learning curve is steep, but not to a fault However, the requirement that you have internet access is beyond ridiculous. Things fall apart for me when it comes to visuals and performance. I'm just disappointed in how this game runs on the Nexus 7, and it's not terribly good on the Galaxy Nexus. Lag, low frame rates, and blurry graphics are not what I expect out of 1.4GB of game data. If this game was free, I'd definitely suggest you pick it up to try. As it stands, you could spend $0.99 if you like Asphalt racing games, but there's just nothing that special here.

Coz that's the resolution the slow mo is available at, you can't set it higher than 720x480.

I did trim the video with the inbuilt trim feature in the video edit option it saved the video as 3gp could this have lowered the quality? Im not to clued up on this stuff but I thought it normally records in mp4 so either the trim option has converted it to 3gp or possibly slow mo is captured in 3gp to keep down the file size?
Ive just checked and the video trim has resaved the video in 3gp it was originally captured in mp4 not that this appears to have made much difference to the quality.
Im guessing at 8x slow mo it is recording at 240fps and because of the high frame capture there has to be a reduction in quality to make it possible.

It still wouldn't affect the quality of the video by much in the Note's screen.
It won't be good only when viewing in a computer or tv in full screen.
I hear people are not that pleased with the slow motion resolution but personally I think its great for a bit of fun. Sure not good enough for a professional production but its not meant for that. On the phone it looks fine... it was my favourite feature on an old LG viewty I had years ago and wow the resolution on that in slow mo mode was bad this looks crystal and very impressive in comparison. I know you cant really compare the 2 but it shows how nicely things have moved on.
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda app-developers app
This feature is not meant for serious work, it's just a gimmick, a toy to enhance movierecording in the phone. If you really want you can bump up the resolution to full HD on the computer via thirdparty plugins in After Effects or Premiere Pro.

If you thought it would be different you had unreasonable expectations. A GoPro 2, which has a much larger sensor than the Note 2 and more dedicated hardware, can do 120FPS at 848x480p. $3500 DSLRs like the 5D Mk III can't even take video at more than 30 FPS! To think that a cell phone camera could take high resolution, slow motion video is just ignorant.
Whatever, I like this slow motion thingy.

Hi I just uploaded a very short slow motion video to youtube of my dog catching a biscuit.

Can you or any one else post slow mo videos somewhere else cause youtube is blocked in my country?
you guys need to get off the n2's nuts.
i didn't know it's so taxing on hardware for video to be recorded in slow motion. that is disappointing.
it's an interesting feature but it seems counter productive to the huge screen of the note2 since it can't be viewed in hd on it.
Here is my test on the slow motion function.
Have fun!
(Since I cannot post outside links yet, here is the info for the video
vimeo(dot)com(slash)62170068
Youtube(dot)com(slash)watch?v=TnMH_N2fSOA
Notes: When I was editing the video I saw some blur on the images, this makes me think that the camera don't actually captures 240 frames per second, but instead what it does is duplicate some of the frames and create a ghosting effect.
I need to do more technical tests to see the actual capture rate frame of the camera.
Can anyone try something for me? Can you grab the camera apk off the note 2 so I can try it on the samsung mega? The mega does not have, irritatingly so, the slow mo feature. Has to be the 4.2 camera app version since the mega is running 4.2. Thanks.

Coz that's the resolution the slow mo is available at, you can't set it higher than 720x480.

You can't adjust the Resolution at all.
It's always 720*480 for Note 2 and S4 Zoom; 800*450 for S4 and for Note 3; and S5, Z2, F7, K Zoom(aka S5 Zoom) and the newer ones, it's HD 1280*720p.
Samsung 8-core big.LITTLE chip early next year, will we see it in the future Galaxy Note 3 or Galaxy S4?
http://www.androidauthority.com/sam...-early-next-year-future-galaxy-note-3-133020/
IMHO this octacore will be kind of useless unless all Apps and Heavy Games get optimized for it say in next 3-5yrs. :screwy:

I don't think you understand the concept of cores. There will never be a need for 8 cores unless you are 3D designing.
I think it would be overkill for current technology. Might be great for tablets, holographic display, flexible screen or other future tech we don't know about. Other than that, I really can't see doing major gaming on my phone. I would rather do that on my gaming system.

Well since Samsung already has a prototype of a flex screen device with built in projector that rolls up into a fat pen, that's probably what they are aiming this chipset at

Bring it on and double the screen resolution. I don't see anything wrong with more cores as long as its still energy efficient
We may not need computers anymore or many other devices could be cheaper . we could just have two phones one as a backup . and water cooled docks everywhere. We just dock the phone and it over clocks to 3ghz and runs everything . the house the car the TV .cheep empty shell super 4k cameras that just need your phone to work .

I posted a that concept awhile back. Here it is again if anyones wondering.

There's actually a real working prototype of it now along with samsungs holographic displays that use a projector and a fine aerosol or finely woven mesh to produce a 3d image in the projection field
Edit: in case anyone is wondering, Samsung has already patented or bought up existing patents on transparent flexible displays as well as the holographic projection technology

Now that you mention holographic projection that is use here in Puerto Rico in special events like past election day. That was freaking awesome I was astonished.

it's not an 8 core, its two of their quad cores put together.
Way different than an 8 core

Yeah the general technology has been around in one form or another since the mid/late 1800s Samsung has devised a new method in a compact HD form that they want to use for TV, PC and mobile device displays as a kind of real 3d where you actually see depth and all sides of the image. The only problem is its currently super expensive and not viable as a general consumer option yet it's more for the corporate, .gov, uber rich at the moment

They are actually working out the last kinks in one of the colors in production from what I last read in the news about a month or so ago. Once they fix that problem, they will begin mass production - maybe LOL.
Going off of memory. I googled "samsung flexible screens production" and found this right off the bat:
http://www.techradar.com/news/world...-up-flexible-amoled-screen-production-1112640
I would much rather have holographic imaging instead of a flexable screen. Boy, that would be so Johnny Mnemonic. That would also classify under "Excellent" Whoa Dude.
Yeah I'm pretty sure this is more of a way to balance power and efficiency. The name even gives it away. From what I know it uses the "little" portion of the chipset for tasks that don't require horsepower so as to prolong battery life, and the 4 core "big" handles the tough graphics and video.

I can't wait till Intel gets into the mobile game. These quad core arm processors are considered weak for computers and there's much improvement needed than most think
