xperia ion beanstalk kitkat 4.4.2 - Sony Xperia S, Acro S, Ion

i like to share my experience on beanstalk kitkat , i was using c-11 alot of bugs is there and like to say thanks to whome are trying to solve it and recently release 6th version update but about 2 hours back i installed beanstalk in art and later flash with minimal google gapps so far working perfect and main thing for me that network signal has much improve like there was no signal in corner of my hall with c-11 but now i m getting signal ,this is my experiance on this rom in these afew hours and of-course alot of new things added to setting that you should try it i think it worth to go for this instead of c-11 . so far working perfect let see its bug's later , good job , thanks

Yes the ROM is realy good but Android OS and Googel Play Service needs 15-18% battery. I hope MrGezz can fix that.
:fingers-crossed:

agree with you. beanstalk is a great rom. only the battery bothers me a little. when my phone is standby, most battery is used by clock.
thanks for developers:good:

4.2.1 CyanogenMod 10.1 ROM

Hey everyone. Just wondering if anyone has had chance to install CyanogenMod 10.1 ROM and if it's good? I'd imagine it to be quite buggy at the moment due to the fact that it's only just been released. Quite keen to update to latest android 4.2.1 but don't want to update to a buggy ROM.

I just flashed this rom to test it out. Lots of graphical bugs(especially when using the camera) and all of the S-pen features DO NOT WORK. And i also have noticed that my power off button whenever i click it , it does not turn off the screen to go in lockscreen. Other then that..man i was so happy to see AOSP i love it so damn much but..this is just not for me i wish these bugs were fixed and then AOSP is on!!! Thanks for the link though.
No worries for the link . I was surprised no one had been talking about it on here before when in posted it. Cyanogen seems that be the most popular ROM because it's Google stock and optimised. currently using ParanoidAndroid which is great. I highly recommend. Hopefully they'll release a 4.2.1 version of that soon!!

No graphical bugs in PA at all (as far as I am aware). I'm really pleased with it. I'd recommend it to anyone. Tablet apps on this phone also work beautifully well. Like YouTube for instance.
Battery life is SLIGHTLY (we're talking marginal) decreased from Samsung ROM. However, to give you an example of how good the battery life still is - I go to work and use my phone throughout the day for Spotify. It's always connected to wifi at work as I have hardly any signal. I am also always connected to GPS so i can get the most out of things like google now etc. I unplug at 8:30 and get home for about 6:30 every night. My battery when I get home is usually 60%. So I can't complain. When I had my iPhone I used to have to stay constantly tethered!!

Hello,
I'm currently using CyanogenMod 7.2 on my HTC Wildfire S and have had no significant problems prior to installing it a couple days ago. CyanogenMod 7.2 is really stable and offers many new features based off of Google's Stock. I recommend you give it a try.

Also, try out roms see what you like. Others, please don't post suggestions because it may lead to flaming and may cause a serious argument. If you have an opinion about a rom say it but don't say it is the best rom as developers may get offended.

The most beautifully crafted ROM for WFS. You will fall in love with it again. I have tired at least 20 roms. But this one catches my heart.
Well, I have experienced one small bug - data connectivity issue ( when travelling especially data gets disconnected, u will have to toggle data to reconnect). Hope djolivier solves it in next update. ( I guess its a kernel error- not sure)
Works wonderful with WiFi.
Amazing battery life ( Under Wifi, It served me for 12 hours of near continuous Whatsapp usage). But under normal GSM data its only 2.5 hours
And I would recommend any root cache cleaner.
Rest is awesome. If you are patient, then you can try 4.2.2 whenever a stable ones is released by Marvellous team.
Thanks :good: djolivier

Maybe I'm just having bad luck with ROMs. I've tried many as well, but the only one I found myself coming back to was CyanogenMod 7.2 Port purely because it made my phone seem future-proof and made me fall in love with it once again. I did stay with the CyanogenMod 9 port for a while but found an annoying keyboard-sub-key-placement issue which rendered my phone unusable. After that, I did try the Marvellous ROM and had issues.
All to their own, I guess.
For me Miui v4 by Henry is Gold but no multilanguage. The question of the thread is obselete. Everyone has to test out roms

no doubt 7.2 is the most stable ones out there, but it definitely lacks speed, feel and smoothness of CM10 & + .. :good:

I can't say for sure if this is true, but maybe that's because the CM10 ROM didn't sit long on my device for more than about 20 minutes. I had to remove it because I was getting way too many forced crashes residing around the Trebuchet launcher and even the keyboard. With CM9, I found video game performance to be extremely superior as running games like Canabalt would result in zero lag at all as apposed to my Gingerbread stock HTC Rom. But of course, it had a really irritating keyboard bug so I moved back to CM7. Now, with CM7 out of the box, performance isn't really there. But once I delved into the settings and played with governers and CPU speeds and loading a completely new launcher, I've found CM7 to be faster than CM9.
It just took a bit of tinkering but I get great battery life as well as performance. When I first installed Canabalt on my device, it ran at about the same smoothness as it did on my Stock HTC ROM - it had small graphic delays and lags. Now, it runs just as smooth, if not better, than it does on CM9. So now I have stability and speed on my device and I couldn't be more satisfied.
But I guess people are different. I don't doubt that the ROMs mentioned above are fast. I've probably just been having bad luck.

ProBam Vs Cm11

what is the best ?
probam or cm11
probam is very good but still lacks much arrangement, cm11 is also good but not as fluid as carbonrom ... CarbonRom is ideal for daily use rom is the perfect rom to play and hear music and there are no problems with this either no obstacles or whistling sounds or cuts to navigate both chrome or with dolphin is totally smooth, to use very many applications, the camera works perfect, perfect, I prefer Carbon Rom
Well its difficult to say..
Cm11 is base of it first of all..
As it is cm11 base and then added extra features...it got a bit leaa battery backup(if u use the features).. I mean..probam is loaded with hell of features....many of em..multiwindow and halo...and active display..blurr lockscreen...and notification on lockscreen...many of em...while cm11 is basic and simple rom..
But as they say... With great power comes more bugs .. The features in it are not greatly integrated..u can find many bugs while u using it..(not big..bt small and annoying for me)..i have posted too many times ..just read probam pages n u ll get it..
So on one hand is cm11...rom with basic aosp feeling...and on other is probam with hell of loaded amazing and beat features so far u can see on any custom rom..
Battery is also good..
Bad part is as gapps are preincluded...in the flashable package...and when u boot in ART..gapps FC's... So its worst thing they did including gapps in zip...
U cant use ART
Personnel advice...
Use carbon id u want ART and good battery...use slimkat for light weight...
Be a medium guy and use omni like me...test ur patience and take chances with probam.. ..hope i helped

I have been using pawitp's CM for forever now First CM10.1, now CM11... also tried ProBAM for 3 days.
If you 're looking for a stable and minimal ROM with no conflict of any modifications you want to add later on... CM is for you. No ROM has beat its stability and seamlessness. There's a reason why Cyanogen team has the most popular custom ROM in the world, it's because they're just so freakin good at it.
For performance... I think Slimkat has already beat CM due to its minimalistic approach... and I haven't tried Carbon yet.
ProBAM is well... a product of experiment. For people who wants no sacrifice, who wants to live on the edge and get all coolest features from all sorts of ROMs. If that's the kind of guy you are... go for it. Be prepared to face some glitches though, even though they are not major bugs that hinder the main functionality as a phone... it still needs further polishment to be suitable as a daily driver.
I think cm11 would be a good rom for you if you have to use it daily with no confliction and stable performance(even I am using cm11 right now)
On the other hand ProBam is for users who want to have the extra features squeezed out from their phone.
I prefer cm11:victory::victory::victory:

[Suggestion] Stable ROM for Xperia S 4.4?

Hei guys,
Most probably this question has been asked already, but since then more updates had been followed.
I'm running a FreeXperia 4.1.2 ROM on my Xperia S, and I would like to change to a newer version (preferable 4.4.x) that is fitting a day-by-day use. What would you recommend me?

If You want extremely stable, go for Mokee. We still have official support from it. Second most stable according to Me is Carbon, but it has less frequent updates.
mokee?
Don't u have force closes ?
I think crDROID is most stable if your looking for KitKat rom
Never-ever use CrDroid for daily-use, it's kinda nice rom although you'll get alot (well, a few but still) of random reboots, it has very much customization options but with cost of stability.
Carbon Rom was quite nice 4.4.4 but the battery lasts half day with it...so it's also bad idea to use it.
I also used AOSPX, Paranoid, CM 11 and Mokee but can't say much about them because they were on my XS only for a few minutes - didn't liked any of them but I've heard much good things about AOSPX so you can try that one.
Otherwise I don't recommend any 4.4 roms, better stick to 4.1
I would recommend using PA or Carbon, both are stable ROMs of 4.4.4 for Xperia S. Carbon has more customization than PA, but PA is like semi-lollipop. Both give you 721 MB of RAM against 621 MB of stock JB.

AOSPX works very well. Only problem is you can't use your phone for calling. Oops.
Call volume does not do anything AND the other end can't hear you. So if you don't want to talk with anyone it's afine rom

Good for you but it doesn't do much for me.
And for the record, I just had to completely wipe my XS so it's not likely that either.
I guess I'll give PA a shot and if it won't work, I'll go back to 4.1. I'n any case I'm just using the phone as for a 2nd sim card to pick up calls and little else. Stock rom has this aggravating bug with PIN codes where the android phone will keep on crashing, so..
The best overall rom so far
For me the smoothest, fastest and most stable is the carbon rom build 20140808-1848
Also customization options available... try it you wont regret it...
I experienced crdroid, it's a great rom but has some bugs and reboots a few times in a day. I have been using CARBON rom (20141103 build) for 3 weeks, and I'm very happy with it. It's very stable for me.
Well, Paranoid android v4.4.4 also had the same very low voice problem in-call. At least the other guys can hear ME but I can't really hear THEM. I also grabbed the low voice fix and installed it but it didn't help.
I think I'll check the OpenSEMC-U 10.1 now, lots of people seem to like it. (that's 4.2)
Nope, same problem. 4.2.2 CM10.1 has very very low volume in-call as well. And, yes, I did wipe, install new kernel blah bloody blah blah.
*sigh* I guess it's back to the official "android phone has stopped" firmware :crying:
Try LP nAOSP or AOSP, they are better then 4.4

CM 11 vs CM 12.1 for S4 mini

For those who tried them, which works better overall?
Do both have the Stagefright fix?
Does compass work on any of them?
Anything else that doesn't work on CM?
BTW, I have a GT-I9195

Both work pretty much the same, though CM11 is probably that tiny bit more stable, bit faster, but more battery friendly. Lollipop has its bugs but "some" people don't seem to suffer the same bugs as others. It's still heavily in development but may work fine for you.
Compass was supposedly fixed in the latest build CM11 and also has latest stage fright fix. Think Lollipops compass works as I haven't seen any complaints, and as long as your using one of the latest builds should also have stage fright fixes.
Personally I'm a fan of CM11 but I use debloated stock as it has the original camera drivers. Just don't like the camera quality on custom builds. Though it's not terrible on either of them. Also some apps for me work better on stock.
In the mean time I installed 12.1.
Compass does not work.
The rest seems to work alright, but it's too early to say. I did have a couple of crashes, but not of the system itself. When I played music from two apps at once AudioFX crashed. And "Trebuchet" crashed once, don't remember how.
GPS might be taking a bit longer to get a fix than with stock, but I'm not sure.
Well, at least I hope to avoid the idle battery drain that I got on stock.
Overall the system seems fast enough, but the "fade to dark" effect after some idle time (and back to bright) is pretty choppy/slow. Not sure if that's intended or not.
Have you tried the kernel by SilviuMik for stock ROMS? Is meant to have battery fixes for standby. Though I have never suffered bad standby times, I do like this kernel.
Hi !
Yes...in reality ,objectively , there are only cm11(last release on 01/09/2015) and stocks who work fine .
At this time ,all Lollipop customs are not stable at all for daily use because umpredictables behaviors (maybe it work fine for some members but thes roms may have dysfunctions suddently with "majors big buggs)
With news big security problems ,all JB & KK customs roms are totaly "obsolete" (it's a pity because kk slim , pacman... work fine!) ,they are unusable because not secure...
-The best choice for a good daily use is a stock rom (or STE by ploiki ! Great buid !) with alexax's 0.9 kernel !!! Lighten by own debloating ...:good:
Good baterry life and good choice of parameters with "aduitor kernel"
And stock camera is good..
N5 foyr mini &S6 lollipop project seem good according to some members but i personnaly have had some problem...
-Second choice with cm11 but it's necessary to love customs and it need to replace some "poor" cm stock apps (camera...etc...)
I test the last release now but with recomended parameters , i generaly have found that the battery life is not as good as stock firmware kk&alexax kernel
I found cm11 more stable
