Hello Guys!
I got myself the Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 It was working perfectly when I was playing modern combat 4 and it froze. This wasn't the first time that it froze to an app. I usually just hold the power button for 10-15 seconds to reboot it and it works fine. Except, Yesterday I tried to reboot it, however the device turnt off but refused to start. I tried almost everything. I put it on charge for 7-8 hours, Press the power button+touched the screen, press the volume buttons and the power button, It doesn't even go into recovery. It's not getting picked up by any computer. It's like a dumby tablet now. It's not responding to anything. I been trying to find a fix for this. I looked almost everywhere and tried almost everything. I'm completely confused. Please help.
Maybe the battery is broken or another part of the tablet, you should take it to the provider and fix it and if you have a warranty, it will be for free

I would believe that if i dropped it or was old. I bought it last month. Samsung hasn't really made me proud so far.
Any miss-using could lead to some measure problems because maybe I am just saying maybe your app made the tab over heat and that could lead to failure in some parts not onky with battery also with the chips and check what you have done to your tab the past month so either it's a virus or a broken part of your tab and I hope it's not any other than the battery itself

Just one thing, do not try to open the tab by yourself or do anything else because that may affect the warranty and cancel it somehow

It's been on my bed and has been my bed user forever. I only download apps from play store since I'm strongly against piracy and ripping developers off so the question is out of the question. I mainly used it for games/facebook/instagram. When i turnt it off, It was cold as ice. It never booted again. This is soo complex =S
Idk what tell you but either you wait for other answers and it may take a while and not usefull or you send it to fix it and guarantee a fix

Hi thanks for the fast replay. I have tried Factory reset many times, but did not help. I have upgraded from 2.2 to 2.3 but also didn't help. The phone at the moment has been sting on the desk connected to the pc charging at 24.5degrees and hasn't restarted for more than 15 min, but when I start playing with it its going to restart. Thanks!

When I sent mine for repair it they didnt ask for any proof of purchase.
I think they just check the IMEI / serial against their database to see when
it was sold and whether its been reported as stolen etc
Proof of purchase is not required but not all phones have 2 year warranty. Just call HTC and see what they say our contact them online, the response time I experienced was within 1 working day.
Thank you very much!
Wow! Charged it, used for a few hours, then it just turned off by itself while I was browsing the marketplace and I'm not able to turn it back on... wtf!
It doesn't like you.
In all seriousness though, keep us updated on how you recover it if you do.

I let my battery drain all the way today until it shut off watching netflix and used my HTC charger and couldnt turn it on for 2 hours.
I tell u what, take the battery out,
put it back in, use the wall charger not USB from PC.
For at least 15-20 mins.
This should do the trick.
Thnx.

I should also ammend my earlier statement with the fact that the battery drain was intentional. It hadnt been on a charger for 24 hours. I made a few phone calls (maybe an hour total). Left Wifi and bluetooth on. Both were connected the entire time save the drive home (15 mins) on the wifi. I played plants v zombies for 2 1/2 hours over the course of 3 "game sessions". Finally at 20% I was able to watch all but the last 10 minutes of the expenables via netflix before it died.
Most impressive windows phone/mobile battery I have ever owned.

Theres a thread on button controls further down the list, but here they are again.
Press and hold the power button for ~8-10 seconds, forces a power off. You can then restart the phone like normal.
From Power OFF, Press and hold Vol Down + Camera, and touch the power button until the phone vibrates and release the power button. Continue to hold the Vol Down+Camera button until the screen comes on, will Factory reset the device.
or, you can read it yourself here on the Nokia site.

Does it charge on the wall charger?
If your phone is under warranty get the whole thing replaced. There are a few sites that sell the part if its not anymore. Look for Incredible 2 or S the part is identical. I have replaced mine its not difficult. I found a video on youtube that showed the whole process. BTW the part is like 5-10 and look for a tool kit if you dont have tiny torx drivers.
im not under warrenty i believe. but i'll try to get it replaced.

I couldn't S-On my phone because my port was dead. I took it to Best Buy (where I bought it and pay for Geek Squad BTP); they took it and ordered me a new one which arrived two days later. SO far I haven't heard anything about it. Maybe since the issue was the charging port and not the software itself, they didn't care? IDK...
What a piece of sh1t this phone is. Can HTC even make a phone that lasts more than a year without falling apart? Luckily, I'm getting only my second inc2 on Friday. Can't wait to see what is wrong with this refurb beaut.
So this is the fastest way how I can introduce to you my problem - please open Attachments and see my battery history. My phone just back from the service repair. They told me that the battery has been replaced. Maybe it was big mistake that after I get my compact in hands I rooted him and restored the old ROM and now I'm worring that I just have broken next battery. Is that possible? or my phone wasn't repaired...?

Just flash a stock rom and see what happens. Maybe some combination of your old features is bad for batterys.
I have exactly the same problem. Sending of for repair tomorrow. It seemed to start when I started using Google voice but when I stopped using it the problem stayed so I think it's unrelated.
I ran into problems after installing Lollipop, now my z1c won't charge like it used to. I had it charging last night for 10 hours and it went from 11-50%, have no idea what happened. Did factory reset and even installed from the scratch again with no luck. Also I sometimes get the text power is going faster than you're charging, etc. Tried three different chargers and cables.

So you are using kitkat... I am having the sudden drop issue in lollipop and some other people also facing it only lollipop .. I think its software issue in lollipop
Yep on kit kat. I thought it was software originally but it did it in recovery and also after being repaired in pc companion. There's several people on here with the same issue, I had an online chat sessionand they said send it in for repair.

Hi XDA Community, long time no see
I have a strange problem with my Galaxy Tab S 8.4 4G (SM-T705Y)...
I upgraded to Lollipop, decided I didn't like it and then downgraded back to Kit Kat...
Since doing so, I'm now experiencing strange problems with my battery...
After fully charging it to 100% and then using it for only a few hours, the battery reportedly goes flat but after rebooting the battery is back up to, say, 30%.
Without charging it, I keep using it, but then it goes flat again really fast - and again, after rebooting, the battery is back up to, say, 15%.
I upgraded back to Lollipop to see if the problem continues but I get numerous hours use out of the [same] battery.
I would prefer not to use Lollipop as I cannot [easily] install the Xposed Framework.
I've tried searching around for solutions, but I can only find dissimilar issues.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
Puppet Test Pilot
Did you try battery calibration?
https://www.androidpit.com/how-to-calibrate-the-battery-on-your-android-device
Also wipe cache/dalvik.
Hi Starlord, thanks for your message.
I tried a couple of different apps that were for battery calibration (one with and one without root) but not the method or the app in the link. And I'm pretty sure I wiped cache/dalvic on one of the occasions I re-flashed. But I don't think I tried the two options together.
I'll try in the morning and let you know how I go.

Hi, Sorry for the belated update.
I finally got around to re-flashing my tablet.
I made sure to wipe cache/dalvik and then after rooting I installed then ran the 'Battery Calibration' app.
As directed, I made sure the battery was 100% charged when I calibrated.
Then I used it until it went flat and shut off, I got a few hours use.
After rebooting the battery said 20%.
So the problem doesn't seem as bad as before but it is still occurring.
I'm quite sure the problem is not hardware related because it doesn't occur at all when the tablet is running Android Lollipop.
If anyone has any further advice it will be greatly appreciated but I think I will just go back to running Lollipop.
Cheers

There's only one real fix for your battery, but unfortunately means you need to open your tablet by removing the back cover, unplug the battery and wait a few minutes.
Put everything back together and it should be fixed.
Going in a different direction, there are no issues installing xposed on your device.
Maybe you should be asking how to do that rather than taking backward steps.
This worked for me.. just try to drain your battery.. then remove your battery.. then reattach charge it fully then boot up
