Yeah, the Kernel from the Acro S has to handle the external SD card. Xperia S Kernel can be flashed but the external storage won't work.

Mine is MALAYSIA, or you can check SI number, same SI means same firmware type.
This ftf is 1266-2796
Check the number at the side of your acro S box. writing SI XXXX-XXXX.X (First 8 digits.)

[Req] Sony Xperia ZL (6503) 10.1.1.A.1.253 unbranded DE .ftf

Looking for one of the two German / DE .ftf files:
10.1.A.1.434 DE, or the newer 10.1.1.A.1.253
There must be somebody that has got one of those...
:good: I totally agree! :fingers-crossed:
I can't imagine nobody has got a .ftf file for one of those DE 6503 ROM's
Someone needs to backup with SUS and create the FTF with Flashtools.
I have flashed the MEA version of .253 and have to say, it works superb, without any problems and with an awesome battery life.
But haven´t tested LTE yet, so maybe there is a difference.
PS: I´m from germany too.
I would have installed the MEA ftf but I have problems downloading from hotfile. The download stops when I have 1 second left... Any idea what I can do?

Same here, but I've already tested LTE and it's working like a charm.
I'm from Brazil.
That's all cool, but I want my original DE rom back
+1 here, would like to have the ftf, just in case...
If you download this firmware from this thread first, Link :- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2172757
Then you should get an notification update from update center so you can either update over OTA as you should receive this within minutes or connect to pc companion via your pc to the .253 unbranded DE.ftf. Make sure you backup everything first.
There is no .434. unbranded DE firmware unfortunately only a customized version, tried looking for myself, the only way I know the instructions is above.
ive decrypt the FTF for DE from SUS
i dont know if its works, someone want try it? Im uploading at the moment

As far as I know, all versions have the Portuguese language to choose.
I'm using the MEA version, it was probably the first .253 for C6503 released.
Just download the FTF and flash with Flashtools.

Yes.
You can find several threads with the list.
You can easily build the ftf yourself from sus-files. I just did it and flashed system partition, worked good!
I would share the ftf with you, but I have a very poor internet connection (dsl light...), it would take a whole day to upload it.
Just try to build it yourself:

You can flash any customization you like, but be aware that these are all branded firmwares, so they may contain logos and/or apps from their carrier. Build 10.3.A.1.423 hasn't been released yet for the (unbranded) Generic BR customization. You may also flash one of the unbranded Xperia ZL C6503 firmwares if you like (e.g. Generic DE, Generic SG, etc.), see [INFO] Latest firmware version per customization (region/branding).

Nobody on XDA will be able to tell you when, but Vivo still hasn't released any update until now (they're still on the initial 10.1.A.1.350 firmware!), so it might take a (long) while. You'd better contact them and ask why they haven't released any updates for their Xperia ZQ yet.

This roms doesn't do anything to your chip.
You can use any flavor you want, if something goes wrong or if you doesn't like it, just restore back your carrier version. Don't forget to backup your stuff.

All firmware customizations are based on the same generic base system. The only difference is the customization package (containing region-specific apps and settings) that has been added. Unless one of the region-specific bundled apps is causing a lag, switching to a different customization will not make any difference, because the system files are the same.

Hi. I ended up rooting my Telstra Z1C so I could modify the customisation number and then just updated/repaired through PC Companion/Sony Bridge to get the unbranded firmware. It's very quick and easy to do.
However, if you particularly want the FTF instead, I'll put it together this week sometime and upload it for you - might not be until the weekend though.

I followed THIS METHOD to root the phone.
And then Part A of THIS GUIDE to change the customisation number.
Note: Not sure if this was just me, but in Build Prop Editor, when I tapped each property and changed the value in the dialog box, they didn't seem to take. I had to tap the edit button and change the values in that screen (essentially a text editor). Just open it up again after the reboot to make sure the changes stuck.
Thank you!
