Hello to all.
Recently acquired my P605 after selling my iPad 3.
I researched a lot and decided to buy. I love it, but the only thing that is annoying to me is the screen.
Every time I click the button ON / OFF, home button or even with the cover, the screen takes about 2/3 seconds to turn on. I've already done a hard reset, disabled all possible settings (SVoice stand by, unlocking effect the lock removed, etc ...) just missing me reinstall the ROM (MJ9) again.
My friend has the P600 and says that the screen turns on immediately when he clicks the button On/Off or Home button or even when open the cover.
My question is if you think it is defective? Or what should I do more?
Thanks.

I read that doing the following helped some people.
Open my magazine by swiping up from bottom of home screen > hit menu button > Hit settings > deselect open via home button.

I know some people in US had the problem and when the got updatdd to MK1 the wake up lag got better but no idea when everyone else will get this update.
Sent from Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition via Tapatalk.
Finally found the bug.
After trying to disable applications, clean the tablet, disable functions, reinstall the ROM, etc. ...
I found that removing the memory card (SAMSUNG MICROSDHC UHS-1 PLUS 32GB) solves the delay in wake up of the display.
My doubt is what I do, because beyond of the display delay, something must be using more system resources.
Is anyone aware of a fix?
Thank you.
I have no delay, at least after deleting the mp3s i had on the sd while trying out the new tablet. Now it holds only dslr jpegs.
The system media scanner should be the culprit, though it normally should do a full scan only after boot, not after standby. Normally the scanner runs silent, but on my mobile it verboses, it's a two stage affair taking several minutes, with lots of mp3s on the sdcard, and few jpegs. (First stage is searching media, second is scanning media)
Controlling/disabling the scanner requires root. There are apps which bring their own scanner, probably the video and music players of the note, which I disabled.
No issues here.
Using a poetic slimline case with open/close screen on off sensing and a 64gb microSD card, from Samsung.
What format is your SD card? I always use fat32 on larger cards for stability. Might be the issue.

It's interesting, because I had the same issue. My tablet would take 3 seconds to come up after I pressed the power on. While following a battery saver tip, I just unchecked WiFi scanning, and all of a sudden there was no lag. Not sure if it will work for anyone else. FYI: I have a SanDisk 32GB micro sd card installed.

I have upgraded from a Touch Pro and am hugely impressed with it. The only negative I am experiencing is that the power button is a lot easier to press than on the original TP. As such, I want to auto enable the lock automatically when the device is turned on. I have enabled this with HD Tweak, and soft reset, but it's still not working. Anybody got it to work?
Yes, I got the same problem, I used the latest Advance Config, but the setting is not there... any one knows any work around?
bump, can anyone help?
I resorted to using S2U2. Works like a charm!
I'm using Pocket Shield for my locking needs. It can unlock with light sensor, gestures, swipes etc. It's pretty handy when using with light sensor enabled as it unlocks without the need to slide or shake. Other unlock options are handy at night time when light sensor wont work.

The problem is the power button on the touch Pro2 is very sensitive, (this needs to be fixed) it cuts the phone on too easy. I just insatlled S2U2, it does does work great, just set the activate time to 10 seconds, if the power button is accidently pressed the phone will cut off within 10 seconds, you can also adjust it lower.
I tried the other pwer options in windows mobile 6.1 and they dont work on the touch pro2 with any success., phone kept cutting on, which I would discover after taking the phone out of the case...kept killing the battery.

Thanks, you've helped me out in more ways than one
for all who have a TP2 and are using S2U2, which version are you using? the reason I ask is because I upgraded to v2.02 on my tilt and it went all buggy on me so I uninstalled it. And I'd like to know which version people are using so I can install it when I get the phone.
and also, have you noticed any bugs or undesirable occurrences with S2U2? even if it only happened a couple of times, I'd really like to know.
thanks
Hi All,
Two weeks ago I became a quite lucky Desire user, but recently I've noticed decreasing sensitivity for optical joystick.
I have a feeling that at the begining it worked better, but right now from time to time it just stuck, non respond or just have a weird behaviour.
What I obsereved that if you will use piece of cloth (t-shirt, case - whatever with "structure" material) it works perfectly. In that case it response quickly, really nice.
Made research using diffrent "sides" of finger - and slightly better when you use side not a finger tip. Also trial on my colleguage proved that something is wrong.
Have you faced with such issues?
shall I wear gloves ? any other workaround?
is there any application to calibrate this optical pad?

Same issues =(
Got the same issues since the beginning. Actually the pad is nearly unusable for me. Strangely in the text box it works much better than other places. It's a bit annoying and there are times I wish I had a mechanic trackball like the N1...

I too have the same problems and it's been like that since I had the phone.
I just thought it was normal and never use it as it's pretty much useless!
I just tried using the edge of the t-shirt and it works PERFECT!
Miss the trackball I had on my G1... that was uber sensitive and worked perfectly.
Might bob into the three shop and see what they say.
Phil
hmm dont notice any different with shirt / edge finger or normal use o.o where are you guys testing this on test or the menu? usually one vertical swype up on the menu makes the cursor go 1 page or sometimes 1 page +1
It really works perfect with the shirt.
For example right here to switch between posts. With my finger I often need to slide multiple times over the pad til it reacts.
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
It's really annoying.
Just tested on switching between homescreens and scrolling through texts and I have to do it multiple times with my finger and then it doesn't always work but then work absolutely fine using my t-shirt.
Surely HTC must be aware of this problem. I have seen quite a few comments on this now.
Phil
Yeah he's right just tried with my T-shirt and it actually amazed me how useful the trackball became.
Shame my hands are not made of cloth.

I have just emailed HTC to see what they have to say about it.
Perhaps if i wore gloves all the time just in case I needed to use the trackpad... oh but then my fingers wouldn't work on the screen

Nope! Pressure makes absolutely no difference!
When I use my t-shirt I barely have to touch it to get it to go exactly where I want it to!
Definately a problem with it. Perhaps they had a dodgy batch of optical sensors!?
Hm... Maybe a guess. I know, certain people have papillary lines on their finger tips, which are rather noticeable and are really easy to identify. The others don't.
Could this be that the trackpad sensor too much relies on identification of those papillary lines, and in case they're less visible, is unable to "decipher" the moving finger?
And yes, I also can confirms that:
1) Trackpad is more sensitive in Messages app
2) Trackpad is more sensitive when flipping left-right than up-down.
The optical trackpad is like a mouse, it detects image changes, the cloth (normal t-shirt cloth) has it wires parallel both vertically and horizontally, and it's really simple for the sensor to read it (the lines going from left to right or from down to up).
Now if you move the sensor on a completely blank surface for it's resolution it won't read any movement, no matter you move it half a mile. By blank for it's resolution I mean if it is 600dpi and the material has no difference larger than 1/600 of an inch. I imagine the Desire's optical sensor is no gaming Logitech laser mouse with 1200dpi 50-100dpi at most.
Back to the finger, everybodys fingerprints are different, (CSI people thanking the nature), so the lines on your finger can help or give a hard time to the sensor, I've also had problems using it, in the browser, on a hundreds of links page like a forum, I gently move the finger, the selected link stays the same than just jumps 3 links down, over the link I want, I go back and it goes back by two, again over my link, and the third time I get it right, or use the doubletap and the touchscreen ...
Maybe somebody can find the calibration/sensitivity file for us to edit.
PS: Sorry for my English, I did my best...
I think you got it in one there!
I just tried with my finger side-ways (so the lines on my finger are going the other way) and it works perfectly. I think that must be why it works better going sideways than up and down.
Bit dissapointing really... what was wrong with having a trackball?!
P.s. Your english is very good...nothing wrong with it!

"Dear Philip,
Thank you for contacting us. In regards to the track pad, I can help you with that. Warning: Resetting your phone will erase all data stored on the phone memory completely. Remember to back up the phone information and settings. To perform a hard reset please do the following: Go to the Home Screen Press Menu Tap Settings Tap Privacy Tap Factory data reset Tap Reset phone It is also possible to perform a factory reset by using the hardware buttons on the phone. 1. With the phone turned off, press and hold the VOLUME DOWN button, and then briefly press the POWER button. 2. Wait for the screen with the 3 Android images to appear, and then release the VOLUME DOWN button. 3. Press VOLUME DOWN to select CLEAR STORAGE, and then press POWER. 4. When asked to confirm, press VOLUME UP Will I lose all my calendar events, contacts and emails if I have to perform a factory reset? Yes, you will lose your data on the phone. However if you have set up a Google account on your phone, your data is synchronized and backed up on your Google account. To setup a Google account, please do the following: Go to the Home screen Press Menu Tap Settings Tap Accounts & sync Tap Add Account Tap Google Tap Next Tap Sign in Enter the Google Username and Password Tap Sign in The handset will now automatically sync Contacts, Calendar and Gmail with the Google account. I trust that this resolves your query, please do not hesitate to contact us again if required."
Is it just me or does this seem like a totally irrelivent solution. Surely doing a hard reset will do absolutely sweet FA to resolve an issue with a hardware related issue?!

Hey there,
New SGS3 owner coming from an iPhone 3GS, and I have run across a few items that I'm just curious about whether they're 'normal' or not for the Android system.
Running CM10 10/19 NIGHTLY
1) I just installed a new SD card. Every time my phone reboots I get a popup 'Preparing SD Card/Checking SD Card'. It doesn't take very long to go through, but is this normal?
2) I have a data tethering plan. I have connected using the Wifi hotspot and direct with Bluetooth. Bluetooth seems faster (although seems to drop the connection when the phone's screen goes off). Is this normal?
3) Sometimes when I press the 'Home' key, the screen does not immediately turn on to the lock screen. It either takes a few presses, or I have to use the lock/unlock button. Since I don't know if its related, I am using Nova Launcher Prime, not the built-in Trebuchet launcher. Is this normal?
Thanks in advance for your help!

Hey guys,
Is there a way to completely disable the S Pen to not write/do anything when it is in the air? It drives me nuts cause i can't control it and just scribbles or clicks on things when i don't want it to. I really just want it to click and do things when it is on screen..

S-Pen
Hi
Go to ‘Setting’ - ‘S-Pen’ and turn off ‘Air view’.
A question to you: Do you have the problem that I have? If the phone goes into sleep whilst I'm reading something (this only happens at night when the ‘stay awake’ camera doesn't see me) and I wake the phone with the home button I go to the home screen and not to the last viewed p-ge. The only way I get to the last viewed page is if I wake the phone with the power putton.
Pressing the home button, just wakes the phone does not take me to the home screen. May its the app you are using, I am reading a PDF using Polaris.

This problem occurs if you freeze S-voice or disable the "Open via home key" in S-voice settings. You can unfreeze s-voice or re-enable the open via home button to get rid of the problem.
It's annoying, I know. Happens to me as well, since I disabled the double click to open s-voice because it induces a lag in the home button.

The tip of your spen is stuck in, most likely. I saw a video of a guy tapping the end of his spen to unstick it, kind of swinging it. Best to get it replaced though.

Possible solution
This is a solution to the infamous S-Pen hover/pressing problem (where it will register a press when it's not touching the screen!)
I tried turning off air view, tried tapping and moving the pressure sensor tip... nothing seemed to fix it properly .. nothing except adjusting the potentiometers in the s-pen
The rough guide:
1. Remove the button from the s-pen (a sharp blade in the middle and levering up should do remove it but be careful it doesn't fly off somewhere unknown!.
2. Adjust the potentiometer (variable resistor) closest to the stylus tip (the writing bit). Turn it clockwise to make it less sensitive and CCW to increase it. A few degrees should be enough.
3. Replace the button - put the tongue side in towards the stylus tip and then rest the button on the stylus. Press the raised end towards the tip and down.
Test (actually you might want to test it before you do step 3!)
A big thanks to kevie88 on YouTube for suggesting it in a comment - a quick web search seemed to confirm it. I made a how to video that might help someone.
I called Samsung support and they are sending me a new s-pen anyway so I thought the above method was worth a go
So I activated Universal Switch on S6 Edge to check it out, something went wrong in the settings (long story short, got a pop up while setting it up), now screen unresponsive.
It works, I just get this blue horizontal line scanning the screen and nothing else but the power button and home button works. Tried safe mode, no bueno. How can I disable US feature without resetting to factory or at least no data wipe (if possible!)?
Android 5.0, rooted with pingpong, no custom recovery, knox 0x0.
All help is appreciated.

Hi,
I have been struggling with Universal Switch on a Samsung S5 Neo. I switched it on, but was never able to switch it off again.
These are findings so far:
-> Did a factory reset using "Sound Up", "Home" and "Power" button simultaneous.
-> The device comes back and wants to configure itself again.
-> I restored my settings from Google, but this immediately brought back "Universal Switch"
-> Factory Reset again and configured the device, but told Google that I want to use it as a "New Device".
-> Now I can use my device in a proper way.
-> In Google Play Store I find all my Apps which were linked to my account and reinstalled them and I am back in business again.
-> Took me half a day to sort this out.
The programmer who designed and programmed this should be hung and shot and poisoned, because this is absolute Crapware.
Hope this helps for all the others who are suffering.
You can also push the home button three times and it should turn it off.
thank u ur the best
Ok, so i have exactly the same problem except my home button doesn't work
Anyone one know how to sort this without having to take it in to a store?
I was faced with this problem before and looked everywhere and couldnt find a fix. This was a while ago. So I dont remember what I did to clear it. I was cleaning off the screen and touched the home button as I was wiping it off and the problem began again.... I just came across your comment because all the others failed. I pressed the home button 3 times quickly and the blue lines stopped scrolling. In addition, I went over the accessibility and I turned off the "Universal Switch" option as much as the option allows. I hate this function. I do not use it or need it (for my needs). I hope I can remember what to do next time this happens. I swore to myself I would remember last time, but apparently that wasnt a guarantee. This time, I will write it down and put is somewhere I know I will find it next time I see these nefarious blue lines scrolling. Hopefully I wont see it again since I disabled it more than it was to begin with. Thank you ever so for commenting. You saved me a lot of frustration!
great fix
