Well, technically we did get it in January, but in a closed beta (now leaked) form. The EMUI 2.0 with kitkat should appear soon in a few weeks I believe. And the EMUI 2.3 - which leaked, will come out in march/april

Lol, most of the forum are using KK
and tbh if you aren't looking at phone forums you probably don't care about updates anyway

yea, its here, most of us already tried it! u just have to search!

I meant the proper one - where everything works.

There is no ''the proper one''

well i`m useing b125 and really verry happy with it.. everything works verry good.. i download that kitkat and installed but to be honest i prefer 125,, and i don`t see any reason to update my phone.. in general i`ll update it when i want more.. but why want more when allready have everything,. u get nothing special with kitkat .. actualy seems my battery go faster down. and the new taskbar hmm only cose lluminosity have a bether method to adjust .. but i still prefer the older version... as a regular use i got no problem with b125 and no reason to update.. ohh btw even the "wallpaper" hmm i prefer how it adjust on b125 then kitkat.. ofcrose when i put one of mine.. kitkat make it a bit blure... the only reason i will update phone will be battery life.. and from testing b125 and kitkat.. there is nothing new in battery life... why u will like a new upadte? just to .."oh i want to have the newest?":? u think u will send more interesting mails or? u will have another super exrta aplication that u never used before? bet all of us will simply use same application like shazam facebook.. skype bla bla.. that not need an update. -and don`t tell me games.. ****ing **** when is about phone everyone talking about games.. is a phone not a game console.. unless ur a kid and useing phone to play games when ur in a buss or someting.. even so a psp is the way to go, and decent games even verry good games works with no problem with b125,, and please.. don`t tell me games not works on b125 to say not working emans most of the android games as % notworking but i bet 90% of games for android works verry good on p6 with b125...

That was my point, there is no proper version of KitKat at this point, it's in BETA, more like an ALPHA state, B125 is the most stable ROM out there so far.

Yeahh, i'm stay'n on b125 until the offical release is out. About week ago, i had opportunity to try KK on P6 and this was horrible Ok, my friend installed the beta and about 20min later i asked the phone to try it to. No google apps, language issues etc.... yehh, i prefer b125, but honestly i'm sick of wating the official release

[Q] Maps Latitude doesn't work within Jelly Bean

Hi!
I'm having the problem that in Jelly Bean now maps doesn't show any Latitude-friends. It says there were no friends.
I first thought this was because now I've changed my GMail domain (in Germany it first was googlemail.com and now you could switch to gmail.com), but on my Xoom running ICS and the latest maps it works all right. It's just on my GN, where it doesn't work.
Does anyone else have this problem? Or does s.o. have an idea how to fix it?
Regards
McDV
Fix for Latitude
Delete the APK /System/App/maps.apk and redownload from the market. I can now see all my latitude friends.
Just wait for the official release of JB, this version is not the last build of JB and will be very "unstable".... Why dont you guys doenst just wait ????

Why should we?
1) I generally use CM9-nightlies, so why not this?
2) It surely is not very unstable, instead, it's pretty stable. Think about it: They want to release the official version in mid july! What do you think how much they can fix until then? There might be single small bugs left, but if the system could still be considered "unstable", they wouldn't release it before fall! And they wouldn't hand out a firmware to the press, if it wasn't - over all - finish. Just imagine what the Apple-community would write in their blogs...

No one complains, we just ask for solutions that - obviously - exist. There's nothing wrong about it.
I really hate those guys with their "just wait for the official release" stuff. No one prevents you guys from waiting, but please let us enthusiasts test it and let us discuss ways to solve existing bugs on our own. If this annoys you, just don't read it! Thanks!
Glad I searched XDA for this problem - the fix worked for me too. I'm impressed with how stable the leak is already. This has been my only problem so far with native Google apps, or the ROM itself.

How in Tarnations did you manage to install Jelly Bean, if you can't figure out that you need to be rooted to do that?
Protip: I would save/backup the apk somewhere else instead of deleting it so that I can replace it when the final JB update rolls out. This way, nothing gets borked.

Just to respond to the CM9, 4.1 releasing in two-ish weeks so how could many updates occur and the Apple bit:
You say you use CM9 nightlies? Have you noticed just how many bug fixes the CM team can apply in one night? I've seen dozens, and occasionally around 100 bug fixes in a single evening. The CM team is a group (an admittedly large group for independent developers) of people who code for CM on their spare time and are not paid for their work. Imagine what a legion of official Android developers paid by Google for their work on Android could accomplish with bug fixes in a matter of a fortnight! Also, Apple releases developer previews of iOS every single year that are ALSO filled with huge bugs, broken and/or missing features, all the way up to a week or two prior to official release (and sometimes those bugs make it into multiple official releases). The reason you don't hear about the iOS bugs so much is that you have to pay for a developer's license for iOS in order to install most iOS developer previews (unless there is a workaround). In this case, 6,000 Galaxy Nexus and 6,000 Nexus 7's were given to 6,000 developers to preview the software so that they could start getting their applications ready for release. This 'release' was never intended for the end user and was probably already out of date compared to Google's internal builds by the time it came out to those 6,000 folks.
If you want to test it out too, that's awesome! However, it is completely pointless to complain about problems with software that hasn't even been officially released yet and you were never intended to be running to begin with. Also, all non-GSM Galaxy Nexus ROMs are ports and have added bugs as well. The Jelly Bean preview is largely stable and already an excellent update. I just wish Google had held onto it for the full release as users are using the preview's bugs (Google has already stated they are working on bugs they know are in the preview, and some have already been fixed) as an example of exactly what the official release will be like already.

I ask you once again: Who complained about a bug??? Please tell me! No one did! There is just a question of how to cope with an existing bug or how to fix it on our own, but not even one person in this thread complained about the release not being bugless! The only one complaining about things is you, but your complains are totally off-topic. I hope you got it now!
could anyone upload the apk?
Thanks.

I suppose you got a Galaxy W too, just like most others in the "Galaxy W" forum.
If you feel bored oneday, Someone (e.g. me) can help you getting your phone rooted. As for our phone its a aproved and quite safe procedure( i know it's necessary to keep in mind something can go wrong by different reasons), it's not necessarry to collect informations for the next three months. If you know what your phone and what your computer is you'll just need an usb cable and a working internet connection. In the case all you heard about "rooting" is the word itself you know your phone type and are REALLY WILLED TO READ, you will get it work in less than two hours for the Samsung i8150
Yes, I used CM7 and Manisalee45! ROM also. the last is the best GB rom IMO. Now I'm on Cm9.
i don't, cm 10.1 is a great stuff

[Q] 4.4 back to 4.3

Had enough of 4.4 till they fix all these issues. I was ok with the issues till my ringer stopped working and it would only vibrate (needed to be restarted)
So my question is:
- Flashing back to 4.3 .101 can I just uncheck data and cache or do I need to do a fresh install ?
Thanks

It will not harm your TA partition.
So long 4.4 hello 4.3...... 4.4 .230 was truly horrible.... my phone was warm at idle....crazy... with 4.4 I was getting maybe 40% MAX (with Location turned off) the battery life of 4.3 .101..... I should add to my other thread title, "Impressed with 4.4 Rollout, Disappointed with 4.4" .....
Personally 4.4 isn't worth it, nothing special, maybe end of summer they will have it running well..........
The main problem isn't have a bug. But they took a long time to release this one, damn.
I'm not expecting for a bug corrector update so close. Does their developers did't get this one?
How about the Sony bug reporting? Does it can read a "slowly" interface and high drain battery as a bug, or just crashing on apps?

Not sure exactly what your asking, when I had 4.4 I had the following issues:
- 40% the battery life of 4.3 .101 (with location turned off)
- Email unresponsive pop up msg
- Ringer stopped working (only fix was resetting the phone, if you tired to go into sound, it would freeze for a few seconds)
- At idle the battery was draining a good bit and the phone was warm with no use.
- Choppy interface
- Very Laggy Keyboard
Not sure what else I am forgetting, but that's the most of it.... Don't understand how Sony could releases such a bad version
Bright side going back to 4.3 was great.....
I rolled back to 4.3 after 2 days of pain! Apart from battery drain (even with Google Play fix), and extreme lag in settings, not to mention that the Exchange Email has a bug that only allows a strong password to be used, I finally threw in the towel and went back to 4.3 where NONE of these bugs exist.
I for one don't like the 4.4 quick settings menu, it's a pain to have to go to the right and scroll where on 4.3 it's right there.
Even when Sony fixes their kitkat software, I pretty sure I'm staying on 4.3 for simply more stability and frankly I don't see really any big changes in the software.

Yeah... you are absolutely right. I don't know how it's going for other phones, but what made me want KitKat was the new Runtime... the ART thing, that we don't have at this moment.

You must have not flashed the kernel or you flashed the wrong FTF. Be sure you are flashing the right file for your C65xx. Hold the reset button until it vibrates 3 times and turns off, then flash your file again.

I would wait to install any Android 5 rom on anything. Its VERY Buggie on every Nexus device that has it.. So i would assume atleast wait until 5.1 or above is Release and see how it goes. My Nexus just freezes for no reason. other times it gets so slow its nearly not usable ..Yes its on a STOCK Factory image from google.
Been running this one for about 12 hours:

Using the 12/12 update.
no major trouble, only downside so far are no rear camera, and screen cast doesn't find my Roku, not sure if that's a bug or not.
Missing some of the customary CM personalization, but for an early rom, seems pretty stable.

I Think its some kind of sleep or cpu throttle Bug.. I can be using it just say on google plus. All of the sudden the screen will freeze . Sometimes go back to lock screen. Only fix is to push power button on and off to toggle the screen a few times then its ok.. It Does seem to Run apps faster But seems the UI Is a bit slow.. I Thought i had a bad flash so i re- downloaded from GOOGLE And fastboot flashed totally stock same outcome.. It Could be my Device who knows. But i have seen others complain as well. Lately i do not use my nexus 7 much anyway. I have a note 10.1 2012 Version .
Other thing I do not like the new drop down notification thing. The two sided one was MUCH Better. I think the old list type settings menu was better as well. Someone needs to remind google we are not Children or icon yuppies.
Anyway i think my comments here are off topic as this is about the note 2. My note 2 is running stock rooted 4.3. I just see no need for custom rom on it at this time...
Thanks for your Opinion. as said maybe its JUST Me..

Thanks for the tip Was just coming to take a crack at that kernel, then I noticed the new rom by Team UB so I decided to give it a go. It's a decent, well rounded rom, and the rear camera works.
That brings my issues down to one, still can't throw screen to Roku, but I can't blame the developers for that.
