i purchased my xperia compact from Carphone warehouse yesterday sim free. It says that i should have £65 of free content as the proud owner of a new xperia handset which should be available from the 'privilage' app on the phone however when i go into it there is no content or trials available to me.

trying to look at the moment on the sony care site to see if i can ask the question there....seems strange that its only available to handsets like the z1, z ultra etc.
Bit annoyed though as Sony have clearly missed something here.

I have so at least we know it's not down to that then.
I was wondering initially if it was somehow due to me already having a Sony Entertainment account (unused), but yes I think maybe one department at Sony forgot to tell another to enable it for our phone.

I just contacted Sony Xperia Support, and guess what? They know nothing about this offer for the Z1 Compact at all! So it seems like CPW have either made it up or some lines of communication have gotten crossed somewhere..

So I tried Carphone Warehouse customer services again and they have told me that they will escalate the issue and take it up with Sony directly. I should get a call back within a week with an update so I'll post back here if/when I do.
Spoke to someone at Sony yesterday, they said there is a problem with the Privilige app, that they are aware of it and it should be resolved soon.
It feels good to know that the content is coming, I would have felt mugged if I had jumped at an offer because of the 'free' contenet, only for it to be withdrawn.

Maybe there are also problems with video unlimited, too? On my brand new z1c all of my videos in my personal library are missing...as clean as the privilige app

Sorry can't help you there, but I did find this link to Sony support, drop them an email from that page. They were quick to answer me, so give it a go

think the problem is that they cocked up!
The current privilege offer finished end of December and they should have planned a new offer to co-inside with the release of the Xperia compact but clearly the department that deals with the offer are not talking with the department that arranges the release date. Even on Sonys page where it takes about Sony 'privilege' the xperia compact is not listed...Just says its available to the xperia z line (z, z1, and ultra) no mention of the compact.
For me it was a 'carrot' that was dangled by carphone warehouse that tempted me to get the phone through them (although i know this is not there fault), had i known what i know now i would have got the phone from Clove for £50 less!.....and then just get the content if and when it comes.

It was for any order from CPW - contract or SIM-free - that was a preorder and is claimed directly from Sony. You could try and fill this out and see what happens if you like anyway:

no mine is not showing so I have emailed them, was a little worried as the email I sent when they told me they didn't have stock was a tad rude.

Believe me they always do that, at time of HD2 I placed an order when their website was showing it in stock, but when I spoke 2 them they said we have not got it in stock, they couldn't say anything when I said WHY IS IT SHOWING IN STOCK ON UR WEBSITE THEN... I think it's their cheap business strategy 2 get orders/pre-orders...

I am in the same boat, ordered mine over the phone on sunday, told it would be shiped mon/tues, but have just phoned them again, and was told none are in stock, but they expect some in the next few days!
I dont believe that for a second, I will phone everyday, and I recon I will be told "soon".
Maybe until the official release date of 4th/7th?!

They initially said they were only available on contract, but she managed to persuade the guy to get two contract ones swapped over to payg (like the phones arre different anyway lol) and he sent them out. Starting to sound like its not what you know, its who you know. Or more specifically, who at CPW knows.
Some shops are selling it PAYG, some not.
makes you wonder how much Mobiles.co.uk are paying people to say "sorry, its not in stock", over and over again. Rather than just deliver good service, and employ less staff to lie!
Just spoke to Carphone warehouse in the Trafford Centre, manchester. They have 8 on Orange PAYG. Cannot buy "Sim free" but Orange PAYG is £400 + £10 credit.
I was going to get one from superetrader.co.uk for £387.75 but i'm not sure i can wait until the 5 april!!!

Hey guys, just a quick heads up. All the phones4u HOX should have come with Dr dre in ear headphones. Mine didn't so I called them up... I told them I had taken screenshots of the FAQ section which shown a p4u rep stating all 'one' series phones come with the in ear headphones.
The lady offered me £50 cash to compensate, which I accepted.

Even though I was promised beats earphones from CPW by both email & a personal call to me - I didn't receive them!
Most they offered me was a 15 pound cheque, which I've still not received.
Rubbish company, even people who were promised them from phones4u were given the full compensation!
I will avoid CPW in the future!
I only ordered with them as I was promised over & over about the earphones, - because I didn't receive them, I lost out on the free media link that others were offering!

Literally just on the phone to them, they just ask:
what the issue is - lack of beats
how you saw it - website
exactly what it says - screenshot above
Then a personal cheque of about £35 sent to you. (I know some people have got up to £50, but I felt kinda bad as I did get a good deal with them so I didn't want to push it any higher)

Which number did you call? I used 0844 871 2234 and Option 4.
It might be worth going on Live Chat support on the website or phoning up again and hope to get someone else. Everyone I spoken to has been aware that this is an issue that many customers have been raising with the company.

The same they did with Xperia Play and some other 2011 devices. I hope nothing like that will happen.
But the delay for SONY's Flagship Xperia S is now almost not bearable at all.
End of May means, many users will receive the update during late June, because of the region specific update schedule.
I mean the generic users who doesn't want to use the flashtools.
Also saw this news. I was like WTF?! at first but hey, look on the bright side. They always save the best for last so maybe they're trying all they can to bring us out the most of JB for xperia S.
Oh and btw, I've heard these kind of threads have already been not allowed here so it's just a matter of time before they close this. Thanks for the news though

I am very sure the Eagle mod declared a lot of times that JB threads are banned because of off topic, childish rants like the ones above. The moderators should start issuing infractions and warnings to make sure the rule is strictly enforced.

It's was actually ok, till some people decided that XDA is Aunt Agony's forum. Writing 10 lines essays on how Sony suck and deliberately refused to admit that other phones were updated on time.

I am sorry, SONY, but this is not good enough. Just for now I will keep my Xperia S but you have definitely lost me as a future customer of your mobile products. That's a shame because the phone itself is a quite nice and satisfying product but your support by far isn't. You neglect your last year's (second) best device, I choose another brand.

Hey all
Sony's next generation smartwatch is a considerable step up in specs compared to its predecessor, packing a 1.2GHz Quad-core processor and a 320 x 320 LCD display, it certainly looks like a good upgrade. The rubber strap appears to have gone down rather badly, so Sony has addressed this by releasing a metal strap in addition, personally i would of preferred Sony to of made this smartwatch compatible with standard watch straps giving a much better choice. Then again we are yet to see if Sony has any other ideas, the "pop out" design could be used in other wearable applications, say on the sleeve of a jacket. Its going to be interesting to see if Sony makes full use of this design.
So who's upgrading? Or is this device drawing in new smartwatch owners?

I actually bought a Moto360 and returned it to buy the Sony.
3 things were bothering me from the beginning:
Black bar on the bottom. In my opinion a major design flaw.
Battery life compared to other smart watches
Usage of the old chip (I should note that in the couple of days that i had it, the processor seemed fine to me; but the fact that they used a 4 year old chip on a state of the art watch pissed the **** out of me. What ever their reasoning might have been. I couldn't comprehend their choice.
I was so blinded by the looks that i ignored them until i owned it. Finally i decided not to break my principals based on looks and returned it. I was looking for a more fitness oriented smartwatch since the beginning and the sony seems like a better fit. i just don't understand why it doesn't have a heart rate monitor???
Anyways i hope the release date is correct and the device works as advertised, because i have been waiting a long time to get a watch and frankly cant wait anymore. fingers crossed.

I'm hesitating, the 360 is Frickin neat but I had both Sony watches and they were both damned good. I guess I'll wait to see what owners say about the Sony SW3 before I decide.

Confirmed with Sony that the SW3 does not have wifi.
It was planned but the final version loses that feature. Probably Google did not support it.

According to Clove.co.uk the metal version will be available in mid november. The cheapest I've seen in preorder is Amazon.de - in order to see it you must find the standard version, click on the different offers/prices and the metal version will be an option for preorder.

Offline booking... You won't get any case for free... As it was Samsung exclusive deal only for 6 hours in "live sale"... With early delivery on 9th Sep.
i prebooked it on 11:56pm and when the payment is done it was 11:59:47 pm so i was not eligible for case and pen. so i cancelled the order

Ouch! But it's a matter of time before these offers start showing up...
on samsung shop app when i click on exchange and put my s21+ 256gb it shows deffered exchange value of 62360.
The S21+ is in pristine condition,my question is will Samsung/cashify honour this exchange value or will they throw tantrums while paying the amount later.Attaching screenshot of the same.
I went to a samsung cafe and the offered me 57,000(including 7k exchange bonus).
Anyone else has experience with samsung deffered exchange programs?

I didn't realize there are 2 options....instant and deferred! But in my experience with cashify....they always stick to their promised value as long as your assessment is true!

Looks like india is not getting the early delivery surprise that was seen in some other countries! Now I'm hoping they don't delay they're current estimates!

Samsung customer support has zero knowledge on this offer, frankly they cant even speak without shuttering, rip samsung

My phone has shipped and should arrive in a couple days! Final leg of the wait!!
Picked up my pre-booked device last night from the Samsung store. Initially booked the black, but changed to the green colour, and it looks excellent. The phone has dual SIM slots plus esim support. Waiting for my Spigen Slim Armor Pro case, it will be delivered today. The phone is stuck on the July security update, probably will take a day or two for it to get the latest update.

Yes, it has the snapdragon 888 chip…none of the z series have an exynos processor.
