Hi.
My tablet/notebook is an "HP Envy Rove 20-k000ea" see link below for specifications
I have a Tab 7" with the latest software and have kies 3 on my notebook
Every time i connect to my notebook my tablet constantly connects and disconnects every couple of seconds.
I have an Win8 haswell chipset notebook and all the drivers are the latset.
If i connect though a usb 2.0 hub i can connect first time no problems.
I also have an Win8.1 tablet and it connect to that`s usb 3.0 with no problems
does anybody know what is wrong?

I am facing a weird problem with my IMATE JASJAM USB Data Cable. When I connect the phone, it starts charging but on pc this error comes Unknown Device and drivers are not installed but it keeps on charging.
I don't have a genuine data cable, I have bought 3 different local made usb cables and with all three I face this problem.
Before I had a genuine cable but now it is not working, I don't know what is the problem, but is this a problem with my phone or with the cable?
If you use Windows XP do you have Activesync installed?
Download ActiveSync paa jee
Agreed with previous 2 dudes, it looks like you don't have ActiveSync installed.
I am not that n00b activesync is installed on my laptop and PC as well. Laptop has Vista and PC has XP.
Already tried reformatting Windows and installing any and all drivers I could find.
When I connect my EVO to my PC via the USB cable, the connection type window appears, the amber light turns on, and it shows up on my PC for ~2 seconds. Then it disappears. I have been unable to keep it connected.
It works on other PCs I've tried, just not mine for some odd reason. (Any other USB item works fine), and I've tried multiple USB ports.
Any ideas?
I had this exact issue when I was going through a non-powered USB hub. As soon as I plugged it into my computer's direct USB plug no issues. How old is the computer you are trying to plug this into? Is is USB 2.0? I'm on windows 7 64bit if that helps. Hope you get this fixed, it's annoying as hell.
Forgot to mention, this is on Windows 7 x64 as well.
Im using the ports on my mobo, and its a rather new mobo (XFX 780i). Tried every single port =\
Well I've been searching for a while trying to connect the S3 as a laptop using MHL+USB OTG, but seems it is not possible or simply hard enough to consider other options. Several options have been considered:
1- Using BT keyboard/mouse is not always suitable since most of us use 2.4Ghz USB keyboard/mouse and it does not consider connecting HDD or other stuff.
2- I found an application that allows you to use your keyboard/mouse connected to your PC to control the phone, "takecontrol", take a look here:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...NvbS5kcm9pZGNvbnRyb2wudGFrZWNvbnRyb2xsaXRlIl0.
Using this app you could also share an HDD connected to that PC solving one of the previous problem BT has.
But this configuration forces you to have your computer switched on... a bit useless if what you want is to connect the S3 as a PC instead of using an actual one.
3- After this I thought of using a wifi USB HUB, but hey! most of routers have USB ports, so why don't we use them instead of buying a new equipment? Then I realised it should work fine for sharing contents from a USB HDD but for USB wireless mouse/keyboard...
(those of you who have a BT mouse/keyboard but don't know how to connect the USB HDD to get "full" PC experience with the S3/S2/Note..., maybe it's still interesting this option)
So my question is if it is possible to connect a USB wireless mouse/keyboard plugging it to a wifi USB HUB. Maybe with an android app? what do you think guys?
I'm still thinkin about this.
Would be possible to use a wireless USB Hub, via wifi or BT?
WiFi Mouse is very good for you, please visit: http://www.xda-developers.com/android/wifi-mouse-turns-your-android-phone-into-a-mouse
Everytime i plug in my galaxy s3 into my sony vaio pro 13 which has usb 3.0 ports, i keep hearing the windows 8 noise that says soothing is connecting or disconnecting.
I have tried the following to fix the problem and still no luck :
1) Re install the drivers multiple times from both Kies and manually from samsung's website.
2) Tried different cables
3) Tried different ports, and even used a usb 2.0 hub and all it did was charge.
Its also important to know that my galaxy gets recognized by other computers just fine, aswell as my Vaio perfectly recognizing a bunch of other devices (printers, usb wireless mouse, ect) perfectly regardless of whether its usb 3.0 or 2.0 device.
Its only my galaxy s3 and my Vaio that do not hold a stable connection.
I would greatly appreciate anyone whom can help with this delama
since more than 6 months the PC or Laptop doesn't recognize the P605, I tried to change the microusb port, tried different USB ports, PCs with no luck.
When I'm connecting the tablet to PC the tablet will charge but nothing appear in the device manager, no detection at all.
appreciate your help guys solving it, I bought Tab S3 but I still like the old fellow more
No detection, so the thing's completely inert when plugged in?
When I plugged in my Note to my 3.0 USB laptop, out comes 'Device not recognised' in the taskbar, and that's it. However, it all works well when I plug it to a computer with USB 2.0 running XP/7. A brief search shows something about incompatible default/microsoft's driver with old(er) devices on USB 3.0.
As you've mentioned several attempts above including a hardware change, I believe the problem lies with software somewhere.
I have the same problem and get an "error 43" message. My Note 5 works fine when plugged in. I must have damaged the port upon changing the battery. I wanted to upgrade to 6.0 but looks like I'm out of luck....unless I can update via update.zip on my P600
