Note 2 Calendar Widget Flashing - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note II

The last couple of days my Calendar widget has been flashing and glitching when I try to scroll on it and today my battery went from 75% to 5% in 2 hours with no use. My Calendar widget has really been acting up the last 3 weeks but this is the first time it killed my battery. Any ideas?
Thanks

A little more info. When the calendar widget flashes it says loading in the background. I long pressed the widget and now it is gone. Hmmmmm....

Phone never sleeps. Awake Time = Up Time

Is there any way to stop this? Is there any way to find out what can be causing this? My battery life is pretty ****ty, and I only now found out that my phone should sleep at some point. It shouldn't stay awake for 40 hours.
I think I've fixed it. I installed AdvancedTaskKiller and set it to kill Calendar every time I shut off my screen. Calendar was my leading wakelock problem with 99%.
I also shut off the Calendar agenda widget and cut back on the auto-syncing. I'll keep adding these things back until I hit the problem again (If I ever do, with the Calendar on auto-kill)
Are you running the stock rom? There are a ton of battery tips, just use the search. However a lot of the roms have all the tips/settings built in by default to save you the trouble.
I am using Fresh 0.3 and I get over a 24 hours of battery with light-moderate usage.

My Calendar has been killing my battery recently too...I don't know what's going on. I'm running Fresh .2 (haven't gotten the chance to complete part 2 of root yet).

[Q] ADW + Weather Widget = No Sleep & Terrible Battery Life

I'm trying to figure out exactly what's going on. I started having trouble with awful battery life on my Epic running stock EC05. I uninstalled a few things and tweaked some settings, but the reality was that I dropped from about 15 hours use to 8 hours use on a full charge. So I rooted and flashed a couple ROMs. I settled on Syndicate and things were trucking along nicely with normal (or better) battery life. Then it happened again. Down to about 8 hours of life for a full charge.
The only thing that is in common between the two is I downloaded and installed a weather widget just before things went to pot. On stock it was the WeatherBug widget and most recently Fancy Widget. I tried switching the updating to only once a day and only on WiFi, but it still chewed through the battery. So far, having removed Fancy Widget from my home screen looks to have solved the battery drain, but widgets aren't supposed to do that. I grabbed Spare Parts and looked at what was going on and found that my phone was spending the majority of its time awake or partially awake, even when I wasn't using it.
So, has anyone else experienced excessive battery drain after installing a weather widget? Do you use a custom launcher? Am I missing something else?
I have recently had this same problem. Thought I messed up soemthing with the install so I'm getting so good at wiping and reinstalling everything I did it again.
Didn't fix the problem. I was like WTF!!! So using Spare parts it was telling me my phone wasn't sleeping, but partial wake looked fine.
So I did the airplane toggle and that seemed to fix it. I did recently install beautfiul widgets. not sure it is related.

[Q] Virtuous unity 2.35: calenar widget refreshes all 'desktops'

hello,
I'm using virtuous unity since a long time. Now since the beginning of this week, every day I switch to the calendar widget I get a screen from VU saying launching and all my widgets get refreshed and starts back on the first page. This happens just one time a day (first time I check the calendar widget). As far as I know I never experienced that before. I wiped and installed this ROM again, but no succes. Why happens this as only that widget has to refresh and not all my widgets. Is there a setting I need to check?

i refreshed it and it was fine. is this a glitch? i never had this on the s3

Gmail in continuous sync. Battery draining. Help

This just started a couple of days ago and I honestly dont know why it started. I noticed that my battery started to drain A LOT. Discovered that the Gmail sync was in continuous sync for long stretches at a time. Like a half hour of syncing then off for two minutes then on again for 20-30 minutes then off again, this goes on till 3 hours later my battery is down to 51 percent. But this keeps going till the battery is dead. I have turned off many of the play store and google.play syncs to just keep the email on and it still does the same thing. Gmail is the second most battery user right below Screen. But screen gets turned off and the Gmail stays on even when the screen is off. I have to turn Gmail off manually and finally the "sync" circle on my notifications tab disappears. Any one has any ideas? Thanks.
EDIT: Fixed. Read on another forum to clear the cache in the Gmail app in settings. That is it and it worked. Aaaaargh! Im glad it worked but its so frustrating when it is soooooo simple.
