I just woke up the note and the time on the weather widget made no sense. instead of showing 1:30 am, it showed some overlapped garbage.
i refreshed it and it was fine. is this a glitch? i never had this on the s3

Anyone had trouble with the weather widget/clock not refreshing and having to do it manually, starting last night?
I had something similar happen. Sometimes the weather icon gets locked and won't update. For example it would show the sunny icon regardless of time, weather, etc. I fixed this by going into recovery and wiping battery stats.
Yes really.
Hmmm... I happen to have just wiped my battery stats last night before this problem started. Wonder if I should do it again?
Well, I reset the battery stats and I still have the same problem. The widget will show the city, but the weather info doesn't show unless I update it manually.
Forgot to update this thread with the solution... in case anyone else has a similar problem.
Restore/Wipe.
hello,
I'm using virtuous unity since a long time. Now since the beginning of this week, every day I switch to the calendar widget I get a screen from VU saying launching and all my widgets get refreshed and starts back on the first page. This happens just one time a day (first time I check the calendar widget). As far as I know I never experienced that before. I wiped and installed this ROM again, but no succes. Why happens this as only that widget has to refresh and not all my widgets. Is there a setting I need to check?
The last couple of days my Calendar widget has been flashing and glitching when I try to scroll on it and today my battery went from 75% to 5% in 2 hours with no use. My Calendar widget has really been acting up the last 3 weeks but this is the first time it killed my battery. Any ideas?
Thanks
A little more info. When the calendar widget flashes it says loading in the background. I long pressed the widget and now it is gone. Hmmmmm....
I upgraded my PIxel XL about 7 hours ago, and the weather widget has still not changed from the date data to the weather icon. I have had it happen other times for a few hours, but this is the longest it has stayed this way. I upgraded my wife's Pixel today as well, and the weather info came up immediately. Is there any trick that anyone has found to toggle the app to have it turn the weather info back on?
Is location on?

Yeah, nothing has changed. Just did an update minus the -w.
P.S. High accuracy is on as well.
yeah i notice it sometimes too. no idea what causes it. most of the time the weather is there, but occasionally it will just show the date and nothing more. i assume when it polls for the weather there's a connection issue and it just doesn't bother to poll again. bug...

Accidentally disable weather card? Maybe turn it on manually?

No, and it came back on while I was sleeping (about 12 hours after the update). Pretty unbelievable that there isn't a manual way to recheck the connection to launch the service.
Ever since the update to Android 12, the stock weather widget consistently doesn't update (I have it set to refresh every 60 minutes).....and will show a line through the location sometimes...........up in the air as to what's causing this. I've wiped data/cache and still happens. It will update if I tap the icon.
is the app set to not sleep?
not a sleeping app
I might have found the reason, I went to Settings, Apps, Weather.............in Notification categories, "Weather refresh" wasn't checked........might be the issue.
I used a different weather app and its widget stopped updating, and notifications stopped showing, after the most recent update the other day (the one following the big 12 update). I had to download a new app that was similar, but at least it works. I don't know if it is the same issue as the widget you use or not.
