[Q] How to restore Baseband? - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S 4

Hi i recently formatted my sdcard and flashed a rom. Everything was good for a little and then i had to restore a backup of a rom i had a few days before i formatted my card. I did that and then my phone work up from the boot and it didnt have a signal or carrier and the baseband and IMEI is unknown right now. i havent made baseband or any IMEI backups yet for this phone and i know the IMEI is under the battery i just dont remember how to inject it into the phones partition. Can someone help me with the steps to restore my IMEI?

All you should have to do is reflash the modem/radio. Wipe cache and dalvik partitions afterwards then reboot. Worked for me before might work for you as well.

I don't know what recovery you are using, but I would say try CWM. I was having those same problems. Sometimes it would work, sometimes they would be unknown. I switched to CWM and it's all good...

Nope i cant see my IMEI it say null / null :crying:
that's the reason for it
You have currut EFS folder, have you did EFS backup earlier?
If not then it's really difficult
1.If you have EFS backup - restore it
2.Don't have EFS backup, then flash stock ROM and wipe cache and data from recovery.
still unable to solve it
3.Try this
http://www.cvxcvx.pl/podstrona-0/naprawa-efs-w-i9100-n7000?lang=en
still no luck
4.Send it to service station

thanks for your attention, when I did the repair I was on stock UVDLJA, saw the reboots then updated to stock UVDMD5, the reboots continues so I rooted and flash through TWRP PAC-MAN Rom and reboots still here
Did you update using Odin, or flashing a rom?
Did you factory reset?
Are you absolutely certain you restored the imei correctly?
Write down what it says for the imei under about phone, status. Then compare to what it says under the battery.

I updated it using Odin, I've made many factory reset even knowing Odin erased all partitions, I repaired using Z3X box imei and everything match with label under battery, right after the repair sometimes after suddenly reboots it ups with unknown baseband and null imei and in the next reboots like a joke everything, modem and imei appears I've made the repair using the box three more times thinking was about firmware versions but didn't help
Oh ok, ive always wondered about the boxes thst are out there. You're the first I've heard of someone actually using one of those.
I may have something you can try though. Watch your PM's, just give me a few min on it though.

The fix is to repair IMEI by NV
Hi! I know this subject may have been closed but I have the same problem too.. I've repaired my imei and then after last reboot this loop started. Opening.. lockscreen (1-2 sec) and then shutting down. After that, going to TWRP. I use Orange Fox as TWRP. I have never installed any roms. Just rooted. My phone is Xiaomi K20 Pro/Mi9T Pro. I tried many times wiping data,cache,dalvik.. and factory data. But It didn't help either. Can I ask what is repair IMEI by NV?

[Q] CM 10.2 No Service

So after reading up about JB 4.3 and Trim, etc etc I decided to flash to this newest CM version.
Everything works great apart from that I have no service.
My Note 2 is an international version, on Orange/Everything Everywhere, and was on 4.2.2.
I flashed to 10.1 to see if it was just 10.2 but no signal there either. Is it just not compatible with my modem or kernel or something? Is there something I can flash to fix this?
Thanks in advance for any help!
Check your Imei first, if its 0049 then its corrupt and you would have to either restore a backup or efs or if you didnt make a backup youre f****d.

[Guide] How to PROPERLY flash a rom

OK guys, lately I've been seeing a little too many people complaining about bootloops and UI crashes, etc when installing/flashing a new rom. This guide includes installing an update of the rom you're currently on that has been re-based as well.
The only reason I'm making this guide is so that users stop filling threads with these issues that are caused by user errors (99% of the time). I haven't bootlooped or had any problems at all when flashing a new rom and I can promise you that I am a huge flashaholic. Here are the steps for a TOUCHWIZ rom:
1. Download rom and calculate md5 checksum (this can be done using ES file explorer from the play store)
2. Reboot into recovery and make a nandroid backup! Can't stress this enough...
3. Do a FULL wipe. This is where I notice the error that most people make. You must do a wipe of data, cache, dalvik cache, preload AND SYSTEM.
- Don't just do a Factory reset, you must manually wipe system as well to prevent any issues. In TWRP this will be under advanced wipe, and in Philz touch recovery this is done by selecting the "Full wipe to install a new rom" option.
4. AFTER wiping all of the above mentioned partitions, then look for the rom in your internal/external SD card and install/flash it.
- if the rom has an aroma installer, sometimes it'll include a full wipe option in there, this doesn't mean that you can skip the full wipe done in step 2 of this guide.
5. Allow the rom to install everything and then choose the reboot option within your chosen recovery.
6. Let the phone reboot, input all of your info in the initial setup and then let the phone sit for a couple minutes. After this I usually reboot the phone again as a habit.
If you follow these steps to the T you shouldn't have any problems. I've yet to bootloop once on this phone with any rom. Now go and flash away!
Other possible issues/fixes:
- if you have a 64gb SD card, your current kernel or the kernel included with the rom you're flashing might not support 64gb SD cards in EXfat format. A fix for this would be to either flash another kernel that has 64gb SD card support or to copy everything from your SD card to a computer, format your EXfat sd card to fat32 format and then retransfer the files back to your sd card.
-some people have reported that moving the zip file from the internal SD to the external SD or vice versa has fixed flashing issues so make sure to try this as well, not sure why this works but it does sometimes.
-if a specific cause can't be diagnosed it's always recommended to restore your phone back to complete stock using Odin to flash stock firmware. Here is a link to the stock firmwares (I take no credit for that thread): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2335109

-Data wipe/Factory reset. In Philz CWM version when you chose this it stated "Wipe phone for new ROM"
Every recovery as far as I've seen has a system wipe option, just have to look for it. Only mention TWRP because I haven't used the other recoveries in a while.

Question, for restoring nandroid backup : before I first started to flash roms last week. I did the following with Twrp, backup, - wipe data and caches(no system), then I backup again before moving forward with the flash. My question is: can I just restore my second backup with just the system without the data.?
Sent from my SGH-M919 using xda app-developers app
Why do you backup twice? And why would you restore just the system partition? You might as well just reflash the rom so you don't waste space having a system only backup.

A nandroid will restore your phone exactly how it was when you made the back up.
If I read it correctly, on the 2nd backup, you did a wipe before you did a backup.
So if you restored that 2nd backup, it will have wiped ROM (no data and will need to set up phone again). Hope that make sense.
Yeah that's what I want, I want to go back to that clean clean rom, I don't need my user data
Sent from my SGH-M919 using xda app-developers app
Then don't restore a backup for that. Just reflash the rom.

Cause I'm OCD when comes to things like this, seriously lol. I move all the backups to the external SD and my computer lol. So not too worried about taking up space. I just want to see if everything is working normally with the clean stock rom. I.e. Able to send MMS. Read and write to ext SD properly.

Well if you just want to go back to a fresh clean install there's no point in restoring a backup. Just reflash the rom bro. Any kernel changes or system app changes will still be there if you restore a system backup but won't be there if you reflash the rom (after doing full wipe that is).

I've been asking everyone it does this on alot of roms i flash the only one that worked was Alpha 5.0 but tried to go to 7.0 and did same thing. How do u check the Md5?

Omg nv data gone!!

I've never ever thought this could or would happen ... and im very aware of efs baxkup procedure i just didnt do it to this phone I have flashed 100times nevr lost my imei info.
Least I think that's what happened I am on metro t999n s3
I tried to flash the tmo 4.3 leak version knox free by doc holiday77 and when it booted had no signal said insert sim. So I nandroid back to stock SIM STILL NOT DETECTED.
What happened what can I do.
Is there a fix
I think that 4.3 rom is the cause of this
Sent from my SGH-T999N using xda app-developers app
Also sound dissapeard
Could this have to do with flashing the 4.3 mj4 modem when I flashed the leak it said to flash it in the rom install log.
Shouldn't a nandroid restore even restore nvdata efs all that ?
I've restored backup 3 times before from 4.3 to 4.1.2 and never had this issue until this last time I tried to flash 4.3 deodoxed and then restore to 4.1.2 sound gone
Data gone signal gone No Sim inserted Error

Being aware of EFS backup routines and not employing at least one of the options is negligent. terminal > su > reboot nvbackup. How hard is that?
Now that you are no longer on the leak, you should reflash the old modem (LJC/MD5/whatever you were using).
