I recently started having an issue with my S3. I cant recieve calls or text messages. I dont use google voice, and have done the ## codes to no avail. I contacted sprint and they told me there might be an outage but my room mates also on sprint have no issues. Any suggestions?
Thanks!

Look in settings/more/about device/device status and scroll down to see your IMEI and make sure you have 15 digits. I know in the past some have lost this going from aosp/aokp back to TW.

I have stock rom, and I have all 15 digits. Phone has been never rooted.

Find out if you are on the most recent prl version and if you are then I would tell Verizon you want a replacement because maybe you have a bad radio or something along those lines .

Everyone that I know who has a Sprint device is not able to make phone calls. Data still works and so does text, so im guessing sprint is have 1xRTT problems. It might be local to Greensboro, North Carolina. Is anyone else having problems making or receiving calls on Sprint?
I've read in a few threads that sprint is doing some maintenance to their network. That might be the reason??

I talked to Sprint on their live chat about this, and of course they don't know anything.
I am only having bad service in one zip code, my home zip code. I get a notification saying the text failed to send, when it didn't - the other person got the message. My 4G speed is UNDER 1mbit. How do I address this issue with Sprint so the issue is resolved? According to the idiot on the live chat thing, he said there aren't any network issues.

They probably are doing some tower improvement or network improvement in your area and the person you spoke with just didn't know. Heck, when I called in about the OTA update, they told me 2.3.4 is the newest version available

Haha wow...maybe visiting a store in the area would help? Does the store have to be in my zip code?
I don't even know if it's a service issue because the messages send, I just get a notification saying the message failed to send...it's really weird.

I know that I have had trouble for a whole day in SoCal before. I thought it was my setup so I Odin flashed back to stock, re-rooted, reflashed ROM only to find out it was a network issue. If you can go the day without it, I would see if its fixed tomorrow morning. If not, start totally fresh. If you Odin back to full stock and still have the problem, its pretty safe to say its the network

It's been almost constant for a while, but again..only one location. Not sure how that could be ROM based.

The one location leads me to believe it wouldn't be ROM based. That's why I suggested waiting it out for the day. I know that can be tough though

It's been a week.
It definitely sounds as though they're working in your area. Not that this will help get you better coverage but type in your zip on the map and perhaps see what they did or plan to do.

Just a side thought. Call CS & explain the issue & they may send you an airave. Got mine last week as I was having horrible service at my home, but it was just fine at my neighbors. Needless to say, no more dropped calls or missed texts.

Yup, if its been a week, call in and ask for an Airrave. They will really research if the network is having issues before they offer one to you

Not so sure. I don't see anything current going on. And would they really leave their service in a degraded state for weeks on end for network upgrades?
My phone is the AT&T galaxy s3 with rooted jellybean. I can still call and get data but texting sends and then nothing. I sent a text to myself and I didn't receive it.

That's odd, I was having the same issue yesterday, I could receive texts but not send(it said they sent but didn't.) I cleared the data for the messaging app and that didn't help. Randomly an hour or so later all my texts came in and it has been working fine ever since. So it might just be AT&T.

clear data and cache for messaging and reboot. give it a few minutes and see if that cleared your issue.
it's AT&T's fault, please search.

it doesn't hurt to clear everything on your end first. 5 minutes of troubleshooting can potentially eliminate 2 hours of customer service. but yes, if you still are having issues, contact at&t.
Had this on an Atrix HD and skyrocket. Skyrocket a new sim card worked but the Atrix required a full factory reset. Be prepared for that possibility.
You can always call CS and ask them to reset something on their end and that might work
I am recently having problems with my galaxy note 2, i have service everywhere i go, but for some reason i cannot receive phone calls, i have tried doing a factory reset and everything, seems to help for a day or so, i was on Macks rom and i decided to go back to stock, and ever since then i cant get phone calls, i can get text messages with no delay, just no phone calls from anyone but i can call people just fine. has anyone ever had this issue?
PLEASE HELP!

Sounds like it could be network vision. I'm a tech for sprint and there have been lots of customers in my area that can't receive phone calls. Flash the return to stock Rom and if it is still doing it then take it to a service center. If they determine it's a network issue then you're SOL.

I really think it is a network issue...to many people from different parts of the country are complaining about the same issues..
I started resending out 55015 PRL to people I end up taking escalations from because there phones used to work and then they stopped and 90% of the time its because of a SMR change on there local towers voice/1x service. That 800 is nice when your able yo properly connect.

I mean how do you do it? You work for sprint or something?? I want to get off this stupid 2000 PRL myself but never took the time to flash a custom recovery just to do so.

Yes I work for sprint. And the bad thing is. I can update anyone's PRL but it will change back on the next scheduled network sync. So I have a list of PTNs I have to check weekly to verify if they rolled back to 20000 or 20001.

So what would you recommend as the best course of action? Staying on 55015 unless you notice you aren't receiving calls sometimes? Come to think of it I think I did get a voicemail once without the phone ringing... but other than that once, it seems like 55015 has been better than 2000, at least in terms of holding a data signal.
Depends on your area and your service. If 20000 doesn't work and 55015 does, then stick with it. As for calls rolling directly to VM and your phone isn't broke lol, it more then likely is a hickup in the network. You should see some of the network Trams I see on my end.

So I noticed you work for Sprint. I'm running a custom prl on my note 2 that prioritizes 800 smr. Most of the time I fail to connect, but not always. I am an active member at s4gru.com, a Sprint forum, and many people with note 2's are experiencing the same connection problems with smr. My wisdom for you is if Sprint, internally, has diagnosed the problem with the note 2's and 800 smr. Obviously Sprint knows something is up or they wouldn't have pushed the 2000 prl.

The reason I push out non standard PRLs are for instances were I have a customer who is not getting service at all or is getting extremely poor voice service. As for s4gru.com, that is not a sprint affiliated web site. It is a community blog that is not moderated nor updated by sprint. It is true that some N2 users in specific markets experience issues with 800 SMR bands enabled but I personally have not had an issue with it.

What Rom and radio are you running if you don't mind me asking?
Sent from my SPH-L900 using Tapatalk
L900VPAMC2 Stock Rooted with a DPI change. But I have been running 55015 the entire time even before I rooted. Erickson has been working on the issue for some time but driver updates for the Note 2 are needed for the patch to work and as far as I can tell Sammy hasn't done that yet.
But for most people I deal with, having to power cycle your phone occasionally is a hell of a lot better then no service at all.

Hello everyone. I am new here and this is my first post. I'm hoping I can get some help to figure my phone out. I have a Verizon Note 4 on Cricket. I have a couple problems. 1. Sometimes when I get an incoming call the caller i.d. breaks the phone number into international calling format and it will show it as a German city call like "Luxembourg ". Of course I can't call the number back from that caller i.d. I have to go into my contacts to call back if I miss a call. 2. My voice mail no longer works. The guy at cricket Downloaded The Cricket visual voice mail app for me. It works sometimes. Also I had to download a different sms app and dialer app too. I believe Cricket knows about these problems but doesn't have a fix for it. My network mode was on global but I changed it to GSM but that didn't fix it. Any ideas on how to fix this? Maybe a root? If there is no fix then does anyone know if this problem exists with a att note 4 on cricket? I could possibly trade it on c-list. Thanks for any help. I really appreciate it!

Sorry to hear you're having these issues. I went through the exact same thing. I have been using Cricket for more than 12 months now.
The '+1' dialing code was a constant issue for me too. There is an option in the settings tab when you open your dial pad, you need to diable or uncheck an option if I remember correct but there is a fix.
I got the note 4 from Verizon when it first dropped and after finding out about the locked bootloader, that was the final nail in the coffin. Traded it in soon after because I wasn't getting LTE speeds either. Just H+ which is 4G. Big no no. Swap it out for a T-Mobile Note 4 buddy.
Let me know if this helps.

Thank you for the reply. I ended up going back with Verizon and everything is good. Except for the $100 a month. Lol.. I'm trying to trade it for a GSM note 4. So you say Tmobile note 4 runs lte on Cricket?
