I was just wondering what people's experiences on this are? I see it built into a lot of roms these days, but I'm happy on Bonestock right now so I've been hesitant to bother installing it separate because it looks like a pain. I'm happy with how Poweramp handles the EQ (I don't use Beats ever) but I was wondering if maybe people have noticed a big difference even with a great EQ like Poweramp has? Is it worth the hassle to install separate?
hands down the best! I have it installed and run it over beats. the customization is amazing and the sound is awesome. I am using a pair of House of Marley Zions and it could't get much more crisp and clear. the bass will blow you away as well.
I've got to second what ADodson said. I never have Beats turned on...just always use V4A. Sounds way better.

Can anyone link me to an easy way to install it or be kind enough to quickly write me the steps? I know it can be different from device to device so that's why I'm asking if anyone's done it.

is there an app or something to boost the volume on the g2? it's a little low in my headphones. i can live with it, it's not that low, and i'm not gonna root (when a permanent root comes along) just for a volume boosting, but i just wouldn't mind being able to crank it up a little bit extra by using an app or something.
thanks
Have you tried meltus volume app from the market

It doesn't work with our G2. The app says it probably won't work with any devices with Android 2.1+
You'll have to contact him via twitter and/or email and request the LVH4 Beta. Could possibly work on G2 or maybe, he hasn't even made any headway with G2 yet...

ok
wow, i just looked up that Meltus Louder Volume Hack app... awesome, im' gonna keep an eye out for that to get updated to work on 2.1+ phones so i can maybe try that for my G2... but holy crap, the comments make me lose faith in humanity... well i already didn't have that much faith in humanity, but it clearly says in the description "Doesn't work with 2.1+ phones, see site for full list." and yet tons of people are complaining that it doesn't work and they wasted their money and giving it bad reviews... how do people just keep getting dumber? maaaaaannnnnn.... haha
This is the reason I still carry my ipod fml

Are you using the headphones that came with the phone, or your own?
I was using some aftermarket headphones, and they seemed like they weren't very loud. I don't know why, but I popped in the headphones that came with the phone, and they are much louder. I'm guessing that the impedance or something is different. I guess it makes sense seeing as this phone has some sort of heard-aid rating (that I assume means it should be loud enough for folks that are hard of hearing).
I doubt thats the case. The included plugs still arent nearly loud enough.

You could look into an external amplifier.
I have the fiio e5, it charges through usb and its tiny. it would be great if it didnt pick up cell phone interference when near the phone. I would probably look on ebay for a cmoy amp, or check head-fi for recommendations.
Any one has a wires headphone that has control on it, like pause/play, skip next, call/end, volume control, like the one that iPhone have so you don't have to get the phone in the pocket just to control it?

I had been looking for one about a month ago, i came across a couple forums saying android cant actually use (iphone like)physical buttons because there's no place for it in the OS(something similar to that). Anywho, dont quote me i'm only a noob(and this is my 1st post).
But i ended up buying
thecellguru.com/Products/28106
and
newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16875979005
, both of which are pretty good. The alteclansing one is better, but if too much bass is a problem for you, i would suggest the former. Both have physical buttons, press for play/pause/answer, long press for endcall, double press for next track.
Hope this helped

Skull Candy may have some like the kind you are looking for.
A few years ago when I owned my BlackBerry, I had a pair of Skull Candy headphones that allowed me to answer calls, skip songs, and adjust the volume.
It's been a few years, but it is a possibility that they still make some like that.
Sent from my Inc using Nil's Business Gingersense. Now that's Incredible.
I use the Klipsh S4i
And they are pretty fine. The sound's quality is fairly good for headsets that price.
You also have controls which are fully operational with an iphone. For android devices, you can use the lecture, pause, next and previous song, answer calls. But you can't control the volume.
But your device's volume can probably be changed even if the screen's locked and off I guess. from within your pocket. I do that and it's really fine
hope it helps
Are they with those flat cables? I simply love flat cables just like the Beats have

what's good about beats? seems like it's all hype
So along with the 10+ threads we have about ICS for the international GSII (that don't help us at all) are we gonna see 10+ threads on how Beats can be ported to any Android device now?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1525172
and the actual thread

The download list says it works for samsung devices. I am testing it now.
I really hope this doesn't bring an influx of "does this ROM have Beats?" questions.
It's vastly overhyped and to an extent, the sound quality isn't any better than what you can configure with Poweramp.

Is there a particular reason people don't like Beats? I haven't tried it, but it seems to be immensely popular although I'm sure a lot of that is due to trendiness.
Even Starbucks made good coffee at one point....

My reasoning is as follows.
On the Beats Audio HW side, it is overprices POS that lives on name brand along, much like BOSE. This is not to say the Hardware is bad, but rather that it is highly over-priced for what you get and can often get better quality for 1/3rd or less of the MSRP if you buy other brands.
As for the SW side of things Beats audio artificially increases the the lower end of the audio spectrum through audio "enhancement" algorithms which actually colors the sound and effects not only the Lower Bass but Mid-bass as well and imho ruins the music. It ruins it by changing the sound signature drastically from the original. Basically from all I have seen through wave-guide charts is that it adds or amplifies all frequencies under 120hz to be at an equal or higher level than the highest output for a single frequency. In short, it makes all music sound heavy in bass whether or not it was the artists original intention.
Can't say that's what I want happening to my music then. Thanks for the fairly detailed explanation.

I hope more people realize this. People at my gym walking around with these headsets on their heads thinking "look, I'm cool and I got swag cuz I'm wearing Dre by Beats"
I feel like the Bluetooth us way too loud on my ears and am wondering if anyone had a way to create a gain which controls the amp on the Bluetooth transmission. Please let me know if the development has a shot.

Turn volume down
Maybe stuff some cotton in your ears ahead of the bluetooth headset?
If anything I find that the audio output of most devices is too low. Of course, I'm probably old enough to be your Grandpa and don't hear as well as you but that's just my perspective.
Have you tried the volume + app? There is settings just for Bluetooth. You can get the app for free through the devs website.

It seems like it's not going to help because it was already set to zero and is ranged from begging at zero all the way up to plus four. I guess my ears are not going to be using Bluetooth then. I have motorola Bluetooth devices and they are way too loud and people arejust talking plain too loud. The lowest arguing is still way too loud for me and I can't take it, argh. But i'm going to try to fund a dev who can make it happen because it's probable an application which can do the job. It's seems like a good idea to me though since we ask deva and the help us. we can all do deving ourselves with practicing. although I'd like to dev I have Sweden how much work master and slave putts into just the notifications bar and us not something I'd like to do as a everyday thug because it's more work than a day of kitchen work which is good news but I'd really have to make it a fluent language before I rely on it to make my efforts.

Hello!
I have been a Xperia PLAY user for a long time now some time ago I installed the Beats Audio plugin to my mobile, and now I'm kinda unsatisfied with the performance... somehow I came bassdicted (lol). I've been searching on internet about what are the differences between them so I can decide which Is better... or if I should stay with beats.
Personally, I think both add-ons suck . I much prefer to use the Equalizer app with Bass Boost at 100% (only on stock-based firmware)
And i think u r wrong. Those ad-ons were meant for u to use it with earphones/headphones. If u use it without then u wouldn't notice the diff. So i think u need to get ur fact straight n test it thoroughly before consider them as a "useless" ad-ons.
Beats Audio plugin? Care to share?
