complete galaxy y rooting, odin and stock guide - Galaxy Y GT-S5360 General

Hi, guys i just thought that when we mess up our galaxy y then we have to search again and again, separately for root file, stock firmware and odin so i bring to you a complete file that contains the stock firmware, the root file, and odin also. it is a rar file and none of the components have been created by me.
Credits:
stock firmware: doky
odin: google
root file: i don't remember sorry
guide for new ones:
stock firmware recovery:
1)get ur mobile to download mode or odin mode by shutting down and then pressing vol down + power button + home button. then press vol up when the warning comes ( don't worry nothing will happen )
2)connect mobile to pc and open odin. make sure u have mobile drivers. get them by installing kies.
3) click on pda and choose the file pda_s5360_dxlc1. now on csc and choose the file csc_s5360_dxlc1. now on phone and choose modem_s5360_dxlc1.
4) check auto reboot and f.reset time but make sure to uncheck all others. click start. if pass comes written on one of the upper boxes then it's done.
root guide:
1)shut down mobile.
2)get to recovery by pressing vol up + power button + home button.
3) choose install from sd card and choose direct root file.
4) it is done
5)reboot
get it here: here

just to let you know its not a good idea for people from europe to flash that stock firmware - its Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Vietnam firmware
its also out dated
you also dont need kies to instal the drivers - there is a usb drivers file from samsung which is much smaller so unless you actually use kies there is no need for it
later firmware and firmware for other countries can be found

[GUIDE][PRO DUOS] Recover B5512 from soft brick using ODIN

I have soft-bricked my phone by trying to install a different kernel and ROM on my Pro Duos B5512.
Flashing only the kernel in the thread by championswimmer didn’t work because of a md5 mismatch.
This guide should also work with other samsung models if you find the right firmware (search on http://www.mod2xtreme.com/ or http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1656825)
All credits go to manoranjan2050 for his great work in uploading the firmware for all the samsung galaxy y devices!
Go here to find the firmware package for the y pro duos
http://www.mod2xtreme.com/showthread...-Firmware-List
There I downloaded the latest firmware for Europe. Using Odin3 v1.85 I flashed successful and my phone is back up and running!
Here is a step by step:
1. Download and install KIES by Samsung (Odin needs these drivers to work)
2. Download odin3 1.85 (search on xda)
3. Download a firmware pack on mod2extreme
4. Open Odin and put the phone into download mode (volume down+Home+power, then select volume up to enter download mode)
5. Wait for your computer the finish the automatic driver program and your computer should recognize your phone
6. Now select the following files in ODIN (make shure auto reboot and F. reset time is selected)
-> PIT is the .pit file in the firmware map, the box in ODIN to Re-partition should be automatically checked now (if there isn't a pit file then this remains empty)
-> BOOTLOADER, select the file which has BOOT in the file name
-> PDA, select the file which contains PDA in the file name
-> PHONE, select here the file which has MODEM in the file name
-> CSC, select the file which has CSC in the file name
Info:For Save Use Do Not Use Boot loader and pit file. Do this only if everything else failed!
When everything is set-up click start and keep your fingers crossed! When everything goes according to plan your phone should restart, copy some files to system and the reboot again. Your phone is back to life! (boot could take 2-3 min)
Hope you fix your phone!

Nice explanation..
1. Suggestion..
Add "[GUIDE]" to your thread name.. It helps to identify what it is in mobile xda app.. and change mobile name to galaxy y variants.. As i suppose your guide covers both y duos and y phones... And lastly add link to manoranjan2050's thread (link)who is doing great work of providing all latest stock firmware updates to both duos of galaxy y.. So anyway good info..
hit thanks button! If above post helps you..

dude the download link dosnt work..
Thaks for the great guide. In Nitubhaskar's compact kernel thread for our device he gave advice on how to flash stock kernel and recover from soft brick in case you brick phone while flashing custom kernel. Can you add some of that info here and credit the appropriate persons? It would be great to have all relevant soft brick info for our device. Yor thread is dedicated to recovering from soft brick and so would be the best place to have all the facts in one piece

Hi, I have not used odin before, but my phone (B5512 galaxy y pro duos)
has a firmware from another country and I want to have my own
(because then I can write in my language). I have downloaded a file which
has "modem"," csc" and "pda" files only and it's the firmware other people
from my country have (B5512XXLF2) . I think my phone has Polish firmware (B5512XXLL1)
while I want the Greek one. Also, these two types seem the same
(the only difference in the code is the year month and version)
but one has greek keyboard and the other doesn't, what's the deal with that?
Will this method work for me? If not can I recover my phone?
I have not done this before and the phone is less than a month old and I am scared!
Thank you.
Recovery via odin should be possible. As for flashing Greek firmware I recommend you talk to Deadly or another expert via PM before proceeding.

i wanna just update 5512 and i download rom for egypt and this rom one file ( one package)

thnQ
Good work op,helpful explianation...

[Q] Need help making sure

Hi, this is my first time rooting and installing a custom rom onto my phone and I just wanted make sure I didn't forget anything of do anything stupid...
Alright so I have a SG3, the Videotron Variant on 4.3 stock rom
I downloaded the drivers for my phone, am using the USB cable, and have installed Odin on my computer.
I followed this post : http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1771687
and I downloaded the "Videotron image"
my following steps would be to
"Extract the root66 tar file from the .7z file you downloaded.
Put phone into download mode [ with phone off, hold vol. down + home + power ], connect to computer and open Odin.
once in odin click the PDA field and select the root66 tar you downloaded.
Leave Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time checked.
click start and
when done let phone reboot."
and third of all, i'd install ClockworkMod recovery then grab Rom Manager from the Play store and in the menu select to install ClockworkMod Recovery and then install a custom rom from there
Am I missing any steps? For example I was reading about the OTA update section and I didn't understand anything...
Thank you!

Reinstalling OS after accidental delete

While attempting to install 6.0.1 on my SM-T705 I accidentally deleted the OS leaving me with the black screen of death (Samsung Tablet S logo and powered by Android). As I have only recently moved to Android and am still learning the ropes so any idiot-proof instructions to resurrect my tablet would be appreciated.
Thanks.
Glenn
Just flash the stock firmware with odin. Available at sammobile or youmobile.
Next time don't be silly and use TWRP to make that all important backup.
Here is how to flash firmware on your device:
1) Obtain the firmware. I find the most trustworthy place to DL it to be SamMobile. (You will need an account and it is a very slow download)
2) Download Odin3. It can be downloaded from here.
3) Download SAMSUNG_USB_Driver_for_Mobile_Phones.zip from here
4) Extract the zip and install the drivers
5) Power off your device. Once it is fully powered off, hold POWER+VOLUME DOWN+HOME until you reach the "Custom OS" screen. Once you reach this screen, press Volume Up.
6) Plug your device into your computer and extract the Odin zip. Now run the Odin EXE.
FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS FROM THIS POINT ON VERY CAREFULLY
8) Extract the .tar.md5 from the firmware zip you downloaded from SamMobile earlier.
7) In Odin, select "AP" and select the .tar.md5. Odin will appear to hang, but give it a few minutes to finish processing the file.
8) Click "Start" in Odin.
9) Once the firmware download is complete, your device will reboot. It should work after this. If not, reboot back into Recovery mode to factory reset.
Thanks to you both for the help. I'm back up and running and the tablet has already been backed up with TWRP just in case I do something dumb like this again.

TWRP / Root for note 3 neo. 100% working. all files in one place

Hi friends today I am going to tell you how to root note3neo lollipop stock rom. Plz follow all steps. I have successfully rooted without any problem but I have heard that some are loosing their imei. So make a backup as soon as you are in twrp. Now the process as follows.
Do it at your own risk.
First Download the below file. It contains all the files including the USB drivers.

Ok bro. Lets begin.first step is to download the stock firmware, and extract the zip file with 7zip better winrar. Copy AP file to your device internal memory.download and Install latest magisk manager app from giithub or its website in your device and patch the AP file in magisk app (select method-patch a file) and then new patched file which you got now will be saved in ur internal download folder as magisk patched.tar (i think around 6gb file).
Now on your laptop or pc move the patched.tar file to desktop and boot your mobile to download mode by switching off the device and then press nd keep holding both volume + & - buttons and connect cable to mobile and laptop and then release the buttons and your mobile will boot into download mode and press volume up button and open odin flash tool in ur laptop and untick auto reboot and tab AP and select magisk patched.tar file and click on start button. Wait for 3 mins and you can see reset PASS and you are done. And remove cable and power and volum buttons and you will get bootloader warning and finish. After that you will see your device has been wiped off and once you will complete the process of logins. Then you have to reinstall magisk app.. thank you. I hope you enjoy

Is unlocking the bootloader first not necessary?
I tried forever just to get my phone to boot into bootloader. Not even adb cmds worked. It would just do normal reboot.
Until I discovered you need to hold volume up and pwr to turn OFF the phone then immediately switch to vol down and pwr to turn back on into recovery which has the option to boot into bootloader.
And guess what!?
Selecting reboot into bootloader from recovery also makes it do a normal reboot.
There is no possible way to get to that damn bootloader.
At last! The staff opened the samsung A23 forum after I asked them, hope members and developers post beneficial stuff here.
Any help for AOSP to build LineageOS for Samsung Galaxy A23?
