Reinstalling OS after accidental delete - Galaxy Tab S Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

While attempting to install 6.0.1 on my SM-T705 I accidentally deleted the OS leaving me with the black screen of death (Samsung Tablet S logo and powered by Android). As I have only recently moved to Android and am still learning the ropes so any idiot-proof instructions to resurrect my tablet would be appreciated.
Thanks.
Glenn

Just flash the stock firmware with odin. Available at sammobile or youmobile.
Next time don't be silly and use TWRP to make that all important backup.

Here is how to flash firmware on your device:
1) Obtain the firmware. I find the most trustworthy place to DL it to be SamMobile. (You will need an account and it is a very slow download)
2) Download Odin3. It can be downloaded from here.
3) Download SAMSUNG_USB_Driver_for_Mobile_Phones.zip from here
4) Extract the zip and install the drivers
5) Power off your device. Once it is fully powered off, hold POWER+VOLUME DOWN+HOME until you reach the "Custom OS" screen. Once you reach this screen, press Volume Up.
6) Plug your device into your computer and extract the Odin zip. Now run the Odin EXE.
FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS FROM THIS POINT ON VERY CAREFULLY
8) Extract the .tar.md5 from the firmware zip you downloaded from SamMobile earlier.
7) In Odin, select "AP" and select the .tar.md5. Odin will appear to hang, but give it a few minutes to finish processing the file.
8) Click "Start" in Odin.
9) Once the firmware download is complete, your device will reboot. It should work after this. If not, reboot back into Recovery mode to factory reset.

Thanks to you both for the help. I'm back up and running and the tablet has already been backed up with TWRP just in case I do something dumb like this again.

Restore your nandroid.
Other way is to factory reset, which will wipe your data.

is there any other way i have tons of personal information on my phone
You need to factory reset in order to install Cyan anyways or most custom roms.
Best alternate route is to sideload a touchwiz rom, but that will probably fail also now. You need to factory reset to boot back up probably. I suggest more reading before doing things, as you are probably upset now.

Easy step by step guide:
After you have followed these instructions your phone will have stock rom except for
benefit of being rooted and you will NOT loose any pictures, videos. contacts or music.
Download the stock-rooted T999 firmware: http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=9390169635556426451
After downloading it make a folder on your computer's desktop and unzip the
file using Winzip or 7zip so the .TAR file is in the new folder you just made.
Here is a link for ODIN which is required for flashing the stock rooted firmware (a windows app) http://d-h.st/Q14
Download and extract Odin into the same folder you made containing the TAR file.
Download the Odin Flash firmware for T999 Tmobile then copy it to the same folder as Odin
Run Odin by double clicking the Odin.exe within the same folder as the TAR file you extracted
Turn off your phone and boot into DOWNLOAD MODE (Volume Down + Home + Power Hold until phone powers up, then release and press Volume Up to enter Download Mode)
Once in Download Mode, connect the USB/Charger cable to the phone and plug into the USB port on your computer.
You should now see a COM** port listed toward the top-left of Odin (under ID:COM)
Click on the PDA button in the middle-right area of Odin.
Browse to and select the Firmware you downloaded (TAR file)
Make sure Auto-Reboot and F. Reset Time are the only options checked and that PDA is the only other thing checked.
TRIPLE CHECK your settings and that you have selected the correct firmware for your model phone and are using the correct options.
If you are using a laptop, make absolutely sure you are plugged in, or if on battery, that it is charged enough and will not go into sleep mode during flash.
Click Start to begin the flash. This will take a while, so be patient!
Once complete, in the top-left box in Odin, it will say PASS and the phone should have automatically rebooted.
You may unplug the phone and close Odin if you wish.
Wait at least 5-10 minutes for the system to boot the first time and then build its cache!
(It may seem to hang during boot, this is normal and you must be patient!!!)
Good Luck!

[Q] Need help making sure

Hi, this is my first time rooting and installing a custom rom onto my phone and I just wanted make sure I didn't forget anything of do anything stupid...
Alright so I have a SG3, the Videotron Variant on 4.3 stock rom
I downloaded the drivers for my phone, am using the USB cable, and have installed Odin on my computer.
I followed this post : http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1771687
and I downloaded the "Videotron image"
my following steps would be to
"Extract the root66 tar file from the .7z file you downloaded.
Put phone into download mode [ with phone off, hold vol. down + home + power ], connect to computer and open Odin.
once in odin click the PDA field and select the root66 tar you downloaded.
Leave Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time checked.
click start and
when done let phone reboot."
and third of all, i'd install ClockworkMod recovery then grab Rom Manager from the Play store and in the menu select to install ClockworkMod Recovery and then install a custom rom from there
Am I missing any steps? For example I was reading about the OTA update section and I didn't understand anything...
Thank you!

complete galaxy y rooting, odin and stock guide

Hi, guys i just thought that when we mess up our galaxy y then we have to search again and again, separately for root file, stock firmware and odin so i bring to you a complete file that contains the stock firmware, the root file, and odin also. it is a rar file and none of the components have been created by me.
Credits:
stock firmware: doky
odin: google
root file: i don't remember sorry
guide for new ones:
stock firmware recovery:
1)get ur mobile to download mode or odin mode by shutting down and then pressing vol down + power button + home button. then press vol up when the warning comes ( don't worry nothing will happen )
2)connect mobile to pc and open odin. make sure u have mobile drivers. get them by installing kies.
3) click on pda and choose the file pda_s5360_dxlc1. now on csc and choose the file csc_s5360_dxlc1. now on phone and choose modem_s5360_dxlc1.
4) check auto reboot and f.reset time but make sure to uncheck all others. click start. if pass comes written on one of the upper boxes then it's done.
root guide:
1)shut down mobile.
2)get to recovery by pressing vol up + power button + home button.
3) choose install from sd card and choose direct root file.
4) it is done
5)reboot
get it here: here
just to let you know its not a good idea for people from europe to flash that stock firmware - its Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Vietnam firmware
its also out dated
you also dont need kies to instal the drivers - there is a usb drivers file from samsung which is much smaller so unless you actually use kies there is no need for it
later firmware and firmware for other countries can be found

I have never used skipsoft but I know that you cannot downgrade the 4.3 bootloader.
Try this:
1) Download ODIN and extract the zip file from here.
2) Download this file and then extract it. The extracted file will have a tar.md5 extension.
3) Boot your phone in-to download mode by i) turn off phone ii) hold volume down + home then press power iii) on prompt press volume up.
4) Start Odin on your pc(windows) with admin rights, (right click and run as admin).
5) Now connect your phone to PC, on ODIN if you see a message that phone is connected.(ID:COM tab on left will turn blue)
6) Click PDA tab and browse the extracted file, it will take couple of minute to verify md5 and then once it's done
7) Auto reboot and F.Reset time options are checked by default, leave them as it is and make sure no other options are selected/checked on ODIN.
8) Click Start
8) Let ODIN do it's job, phone will reboot automatically.
