...Move stuff over to an ExtSD card?
Did you come from an older version of android?

On any of the ICS ROMs (leak-based or CM9), is it possible to repartition the internal memory so that it's like the Galaxy Nexus?
This way, all 16GB are available for whatever, and I never have to worry about seeing an out of app storage space message again.
I don't mind that file transfers will be over MTP, I do all of my file transfers with the SD card anyway.
We won't need a repartition like that till we can't flash the latest Android os

Well, it's not that I am worried I won't have enough space to flash Android.
I just prefer to have 16GB of shared memory, all usable for anything, whether apps or media.
So the Galaxy S III has all 16GB of internal storage in one partition, and you can put apps or music in the whole thing.
Now that we have ICS, anyway for us to re-partition to be able to have that same layout?
Seeing how we need fresh installs to get ICS builds to work half as well as they should..
No thanks.
im currently running a sense rom with a2sdx. I'm planning to switch to int2sd. what are the major differences between the two and would i be getting more data space with int2sd?

from my own experience there is no difference in speed, and for a simple answer to the data question, when u install RunnyRom with INT2SD-S your ext4 partition will be converted to internal memory.
When i tried that rom i had 1.5gb ext4 partition and after flashing the rom i was left with 1.1gb internal memory and if u have a 1gb ext4 partition ul be left with around 600mb internal memory
I want to put my phone back to a stock rooted rom, is there one out there?
I've looked through the development forum but can't seem to find one that is just stock.
TIA

Also, just for good measure, make sure that you download team epic root from recovery zip just in case...so that if you lose root, you can get it back.
And this....

Thank you both, I did find them on my own after I posted this.
Somehow I lost the nandroid back up on my wife's phone when I put a 64gb SD card on her phone. It may still be on the internal memory, but I don't have her phone with me at the moment.

Not really. A 64GB card will work just fine with one exception. The recoveries can not access the 64GB card if it is formatted as exFAT. The ROM will handle it just fine but the recovery can only handle it if formatted to ext4 or FAT32. I still have my 64GB formatted as exFAT but I do not use if for nandroids. I either backup to internal memory or I pop in my 32GB card for recovery use.
Yes I formatted the 64gb card to fat 32 before using it in the phone.
My problem is I don't think I saved her nandroid back up from her old card, and the old one is wiped clean.
Could I use a nand from from my GS3?
I know I couldn't on my EVOs.

Did you try searching the forum for the answer before posting this? I assure you this has been covered at least a hundred times with various explanations and fixes.
Short version is that you probably made a CWM backup of your old ROM before flashing this one. It is saved to internal memory and taking up a ton of space.

I also had this issue after installing a few Rom's with just the standard factory reset wipe. It was fixed by switching to Philz recovery, (I was using TWRP but there is know issues with formatting your internal storage with that recovery.) And formatting the internal storage. Keep in mind this wipes the drive. Worked for me. :good:
thanks guys i found out what was the problem
Awesome. What was it? So others with that issue can use this for reference.
And also. Are you on Sprint? Be careful using anything from the T-Mobile section on your phone if you are. If not, you should update your sig info.

Backups in CWM are automatically stored in /data/media/ and the standard data wipe tends to preserve that folder. An easy fix that doesn't involve wiping your whole internal storage would be to move your backups from that location to your SD card... problem solved.
Hey Guys ,
Recently installed Asylum rom on N2 , So far so good , everything is smooooooth.
however i will appreciate if you guys help me understand what is eating my space???
I Should have around 6Gb free (this is the 16gb N2) , however i do not... - please see the screen shots attached (and as far as i remember they should have around 12gb total space for extra and the rest for the O.S , or am i wrong?) - take note on the stroage manager screen shot (down right) - it says 6gb free.
2nd - i recently saw on Sammy roms they enabled the "move to external sd option" - but can not see it anymore on the Barebone (kitkat) Rom , any mod or so ?
If ypu from 4.1.2 to 4.3 or 4.4. You must format ypur internal storage before install those 4.3 & 4.4 new rom.
This is the common issue dont worry.

So ,
Moving stuff from int storage to temporary space , formatting , and moving back should work without harming the OS itself?
