how to move twrp backups? - AT&T, Rogers, Bell, Telus Samsung Galaxy S III

Right now, my twrp backups is stored in my internal storage. Can I move that to my SD card? And how? An easy way would be appreciated.

Just copy the TWRP folder from the internal to external card.

Can A Backup Be Made On The SD Card?

AT&T GS3
I have looked over and over. And I see articles mentioning how to backup your device before Flashing ROMs. They even show how to do it. One of the articles said it could be done and how to do it. I did it and just like the other ways I tried the backup is stored on the Internal Storage.
I have all this room on my SD card available. My internal storage is almost completely filled with me not being able to store games or any apps for that matter on my SD card. Right now I have about 4GB left for my Internal Storage. After the backup I had 1GB left (I deleted the backup on the Internal Storage).
Is everyone else just storing the backup(s) on your Internal Storage? Your computer? SD Card?

Well you can backup to the internal sd card a d once you made a nandroid you can move the folder "clockworkmod" to your external sd card. And once you need to backup just move it back like a storage kind of thing. Tbh I'm not sure if you can make a backup to your external but I would always save it on your computer if anything happened to your phone

Thanks. I think I am going to go ahead and do it the way you said. Have a good one.
I do it this way but would prefer to backup directly to the sd card.
TWRP can do nandroids on the external sd.

I had to look up what TWRP was. LOL
Anyway, I looked it over, decided to try it and it worked! I now have my device backed up on the SD card instead of my internal memory.
I want to thank you and the other person for the helpful info. Each of you helped point me in the direction I wanted to go. Have a good one.
My cwm automatically backs up to external sd card. I'm pretty sure most versions do this now but can't verify. Also when I flash zips it will look in external unless I choose install zip from internal sd card

Doesnt work with the newest version of cwm. It worked with the 5.5.0.4 one though.

Moving TWRP backup from SD to Internal mem

Hi All,
My TWRP nandroids are currently stored on my external SD. I'd like to free up some space on that card and move it to the GS3's internal SD storage.
Is this as simple as just copying / moving the directory from external to internal? Or is there anything else I should be mindful of?
Thanks!

Why not copy them to your PC? I only keep the most current one on my phone.
I always keep a least one Nand Backup on an Online Backup Storage site JIC.

Good call. I usually just keep 1 or 2 on my phone. Online storage site is a good idea too ..

[Q] CWM backup

Hello,i did a cwm backup and i cant find it with root explorer or when i connect my phone to the computer. If i try to restore cwm recovery shows me backup in /sdcard/cwm/....
Why is that?
It's in internal sd card, not in external. Next time you need to choose backup to external sd card.

If you want to restore, just go to recovery and choose restore. Then you can choose one of your backups. If you dont have external sd card, then the backup is in internal memory. Your backup will have aprox. 1.5GB, I recommend you to buy an external sd card, because soon you will have space problems, specially if you perform more backups in CWM recovery.

TWRP using 10 G of phone memory space

Can I move any of this to my external SD card?
Do you mean the backups? If yes: sure. You can also choose extSD as backup partition in TWRP settings. I'd say you have to look up the settings in TWRP again to find out what's possible.

You can move the who whole folder there if you want. Then, the next time you make a backup in TWRP, look just above the swipe to backup bar. Where it says "storage: internal storage". Touch it and you can change it to external storage.

If the file is stored on the external SD Card, it can't be found by twrp because sdcards couldn't mount on the z play.
No all is on my internal storage but i have external sdcard like internal storage or shared storage
Make sure you're not using the Chinese version that was released.

If you are using as shared storage your phone will have defaulted the file to the SD card in shared storage most goes to the SD card I had the same problem after getting SD back to swappable all is good
