i am using xperia m dual(C2004).i have rooted my phone can i perform a factory reset. Moreover i have made some modifications like deleting some system apps replacing the stock apps with other mobile apps like xperia l,sp,z1 apps and some modification in etc folder.will this affect my phone when i perform a factory reset pls try to elp me out
AFAIK you can reset your rooted phone to its factory settings. It will not affect your root but you will lose all the installed applications and the updates you applied on the stock apps.
If you reset the mobile then all the deleted apps will be restored along with the system apps.

Okay so I rooted my phone yesterday and I installed Root uninstaller Pro. I deleted a few system applications and now I cannot restore those applications even though I have taken backup of the application. What should I do? Will it get restored back if I factory reset my phone? Is there any other way except factory reset?

you will have to manually install them back in system/app with a file explorer that uses root privileges. Most the time you can find the apks on the net. If that doesn't work, you'll have to re flash.

Please provide more detailed information of the problem.
What did you use to delete them. (What method)
What did you use to back them up. ""
What ROM are you running?
Are you rooted and S-OFF?
Etc.
Hi there,
I want to factory reset my Xplay.
Is factory reset will lose the root? What about CWM recovery, busybox, titanium backup, etc that i already installed (root required apps). Will it cause errors after i factory reset my Xplay?
Really need an answer..thanks ya!
I think a factory reset just resets anything in /data but anything in /system should be fine. So root, busybox, CWM should be fine (not entirely sure though, since I don't normally use the built-in factory reset)

thanks there for your reply.
It will delete your apps. If you have made a backup using Titanium Backup you can easily restore them, you'll just need to reinstall Titanium from the market.

Or you can tell titanium backup to create a update.zip which can be flashed to reinstall tb

You'd still need to download CWM from the market anyway, so it's easier to just install TB from there
uh no. you dont need to download CWM as it wouldnt have been removed.
Hi,
I have a rooted xperia s running 6.1.A.2.45
For some reason, my phone kept install unwanted apps like officesuite, wisepilot, and mcafee everytime I reboot my phone.
Is there anyway I can stop this?
use titanium backup then uninstall those apps
That's actually what I do every time after I restart my phone. I guess the question is, can I stop this nonstop reboot installation process ?

Try freeze them instead if u can't uninstall.
Or uninstall via applications
These apps comes with sony firmware, its weird that it revived after uninstallation.
try factory reset then do it again.
Your only rebooting? Not kernel flashing?

try to delete source apk from /etc/product/application ......
Thanks a lot ! Kept forgetting that I can delete anything I want because my phone is rooted

be sure to make backup before you try to delete anything ....
I remember seeing a list of links with the apps a long time ago but I don't seem to find it anymore.
Anyway, I've got some problems with my phone and I want to send it to repair because I'm still under warranty. The pre-installed games could not be removed without rooting and due to the fact that they're no longer on the phone (deleted them with titanium backup) it might seem a bit suscpicious because I want to get rid of any sign that I rooted it. I tried factory reseting but it doesn't restore the system apps. Also, I've never unlocked the bootloader and I'm not going to, so I can't install the stock ROM.
TL;DR I'm looking for a list with links for downloading the factory xperia play factory apps.
Just use PC Companion to reinstall firmware
Or use flashtool to flash stock firmware
Both solutions will reset phone to original state ( without root and with all apps installed).

If the backup files arent seperate for each app. i dont think it would be able to restore each app separately. As The Owner mentioned use Titanium Backup for the best results
