Bad Pen input - Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) Q&A, Help & Troubl

So when I use the pen and try and write closely to the home button the pen doesnt trace properly. I can see the indicator move around the spot that I am trying to write on. Has anyone had this problem before? Its like there is a dead spot that then pen just goes around.
Thanks.

Is the device in a case with magnets? They can interfere with the digitiser.

The case does have magnets but its not happening near them its by the home button and in the middle of the device. But I will take off the case and see if it helps. Thanks.

Home button + s pen

For the longest time I thought my home button was broken! But it turns out if the s pen is govering the home button doesn't work. WHY?? Is it just me?
I have no idea what your question is... Can you re-explain this?
When the s pen is hovering/air view, the home button doesn't work.
Just tested it on my phone and it does the same thing. Home button does not work when the S-Pen is hovering. Not sure why but I'm guessing the phone thinks you are trying to do something on that particular page because the S-Pen is so close that it won't let you go "Home."
I think it's a safeguard that if your using the pen, it doesn't allow any touches, whether it be clicking something on the screen or using the home/capacitive buttons. Could be wrong, some things might still be usable, but that's how they explained it in one of the reviews(well they didn't mention the home button, but said you can't touch the screen while the pen is also active on the screen-so I assume it's the same for other selections)

Part of the screen not responding to s pen

Got the note 2 a week ago and just noticed the s pen is not working on part of the screen while I was playing with it in s note. Very strange. Any thoughts?

part of the screen is lower right of screen, like a 3 mm triangle? then it's normal.
I searched online and the problem is identified. Its the magnitic flip case that distorted the area directly above it. Is this going to have a long term damage to the s pen function?

Thank you that I saw your post and isolated the problem. yes it was the magnetic buttons that was causing the screen to behave improperly at one particular location. I have removed the magnets and now its ok.
Thanks again !!

[Q] S-pen cursor disappears in s-memo.

Friends,
I use the Galaxy Note 2 to draw, when I draw the s-memo (s-note) in S-pen cursor disappears and this complicates the accuracy of the drawing.
Anyone know how to turn the cursor display when designing the s-memo?
Thank you.
I don't think there is a way... just draw on the screen like it was paper, you don't have a cursor on paper do you?

My s pen seems to be writing/selecting by itself without me actually pressing the button or touching the screen. Is this normal for you guys or do I have me a faulty s pen?

The Galaxy Note 1, you had the option to display the cursor's S-Pen when he was sketching the S-memo.
The S-Pen has a small gap where the pen tip touches to the sketched line in the S-memo, it hinders much when making a design that requires precision.
Radrian92, that sometimes happens to me.
You may be able to adjust your S-pen; I had a similar problem and adjusted mine to solve it. Here are the instructions I found for the adjustment.

Think I'll "smack" it first than if that doesn't do the trick I'll proceed with the other step lol

Screen response

Just checking to see if anyone else is having this issue trying to decide if it is software or hardware. From time to time I have a non responsive section (lower right corner) it doesn't always do it so I wasn't sure if it was something loose hardware or a software clich. It is not app specific had it happen in games, home screen, and mostly in keyboard but I think that is because I use the keyboard more than anything.

My screen can be a bit funky at times too. What rom / kernel are you using?

Except that's a wacom digitizer issue, the OP is having a problem with the capacitive touchscreen (unless he uses the qwerty keyboard with his S-pen which seems cumbersome)
And yeah, i too can't seem to hover reliably at the VERY bottom right corner of the screen, but my capactive touchscreen is fine as if you look at where the OP is having problems (around the period button on the virtual keyboard) my S-pen works there, but it's hard to detect when it gets close to the bottom right corner, maybe a 2x2mm patch.
In any case, OP, looks like a hardware defect, go grab a new one.
Looks like I have similar problem. I even opened s-note and tried to draw some lines using tiniest pen line. I have few pixels which I couldn't draw on. Anyone with same issue?

Is your phone situated near any kind of magnet-material? Usually, that causes interference with the display on the Note 2

How much battery Air View consumes?

Hey guys, I was wondering if this feature drains the battery significantly or not? Did a search but didn't really get any results, can anyone comment here?
Sent from my GT-N7105 using xda app-developers app
I don't think it actually use any extra battery due to the way the S-Pen works. The s-pen is detected above the screen whether or not you have air view on or off.
You can test it for yourself by holding the s-pen above the screen close enough for air view to work and clicking the nub on the pen in with your nail, it's all to do with electromagnetism as far as I know.

You can even use your phone without touching it. Just put your finger over the tip of spen, and go close to your screen...
