[Q] S-pen cursor disappears in s-memo. - Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note II

Friends,
I use the Galaxy Note 2 to draw, when I draw the s-memo (s-note) in S-pen cursor disappears and this complicates the accuracy of the drawing.
Anyone know how to turn the cursor display when designing the s-memo?
Thank you.

I don't think there is a way... just draw on the screen like it was paper, you don't have a cursor on paper do you?

My s pen seems to be writing/selecting by itself without me actually pressing the button or touching the screen. Is this normal for you guys or do I have me a faulty s pen?

The Galaxy Note 1, you had the option to display the cursor's S-Pen when he was sketching the S-memo.
The S-Pen has a small gap where the pen tip touches to the sketched line in the S-memo, it hinders much when making a design that requires precision.
Radrian92, that sometimes happens to me.

You may be able to adjust your S-pen; I had a similar problem and adjusted mine to solve it. Here are the instructions I found for the adjustment.

Think I'll "smack" it first than if that doesn't do the trick I'll proceed with the other step lol

Part of the screen not responding to s pen

Got the note 2 a week ago and just noticed the s pen is not working on part of the screen while I was playing with it in s note. Very strange. Any thoughts?

part of the screen is lower right of screen, like a 3 mm triangle? then it's normal.
I searched online and the problem is identified. Its the magnitic flip case that distorted the area directly above it. Is this going to have a long term damage to the s pen function?

Thank you that I saw your post and isolated the problem. yes it was the magnetic buttons that was causing the screen to behave improperly at one particular location. I have removed the magnets and now its ok.
Thanks again !!

Anyone else noticing that their s-pen is less responsive?

Out if the box I thought the s-pen could do no wrong. Now lately I'm noticing its not registering more and more frequently even though my behavior hasn't changed.
Any one else noticing this?

Not registering screen writing or button presses? I had the Note 1 and the thing I find myself getting used to now is that the pen is more accurate, untill you try to hit onscreen buttons. You have to push the pen harder on the buttons. Its just how it is I guess

there's another thread about opening up the spen and configuring the sensitivity. I followed the tutorial and made it more sensitive and it works better now.

No sensitivity issues here, good to know there is a calibration wizard though.
It took me a while to realize, but I noticed when the screen sees the stylus, like air view, the bottom three buttons don't work. And I keep having the urge to press back or menu with the stylus. Not a big deal, but it would be nice.

S-pen messed up?

Is the s pen supposed to write on the notepad thing when it is hovering over the screen? Also it will act as if it is touching the screen when it is not...is it supposed to?

And should the bar have a bump in it where on the back cover the speaker hole?

You're probably bumping into the "Air view" feature without knowing what it is. I recommend you read the manual to understand all of the awesome functionality, including the cool things that you can do with the S-Pen, that Samsung included with the Note 2. Failing that, you're likely to be posting basic questions like this to the annoyance of many. =)
To turn *off* the hover functionality, go to "Settings | S Pen" and swipe the "Air view" to "off".

I don't know if it should, but mine does, too. The middle bar there is slightly raised.

The above link might help you. I've heard of others with similar issues and I believe they fixed it by adjusting the sensitivity.
Edit: Said the same as bigbrotherbear, but he said it better and I let my response sit on my screen too long before submitting. =)
Thanks this has solved my problem

Screen response

Just checking to see if anyone else is having this issue trying to decide if it is software or hardware. From time to time I have a non responsive section (lower right corner) it doesn't always do it so I wasn't sure if it was something loose hardware or a software clich. It is not app specific had it happen in games, home screen, and mostly in keyboard but I think that is because I use the keyboard more than anything.

My screen can be a bit funky at times too. What rom / kernel are you using?
I am still factory now. Dang there it goes had to hit the period 3 times now working fine again.

Try and hover your spent over the bottom right corner... mine doesn't work down there... I don't think your alone

Except that's a wacom digitizer issue, the OP is having a problem with the capacitive touchscreen (unless he uses the qwerty keyboard with his S-pen which seems cumbersome)
And yeah, i too can't seem to hover reliably at the VERY bottom right corner of the screen, but my capactive touchscreen is fine as if you look at where the OP is having problems (around the period button on the virtual keyboard) my S-pen works there, but it's hard to detect when it gets close to the bottom right corner, maybe a 2x2mm patch.
In any case, OP, looks like a hardware defect, go grab a new one.
Looks like I have similar problem. I even opened s-note and tried to draw some lines using tiniest pen line. I have few pixels which I couldn't draw on. Anyone with same issue?

Is your phone situated near any kind of magnet-material? Usually, that causes interference with the display on the Note 2

Having some problem with s-pen and screen capture tracing...

Hi,
Have noticed when trying to trace an image with my s-pen on the screen with the button pushed that sometimes it just doesn't seem to "take" and capture the image even though I have traced all the way around to the little beginning circle. This seems to happen mostly if I am tracing a smaller image.
Am I doing something wrong or is this just a bug? If it is a bug is there a way to fix it?
SECONDARY QUESTION:
It seems the only way to crop out a square image is to do a screen capture by pushing down the s-pen button and pressing it to the screen then using the crop tool. However, it would be nice to be able to actually draw a perfect crop square in the same way we do a trace capture. Is there any combination of buttons that does that?
I have noticed on my Note 10.1 tablet that I can trace an image in one multiview screen then just drag the into s-notes in the other pane and it pastes. However, with the GN2 this "drag and drop" doesn't seem to work. Am I doing something wrong?
Last thing. Have noticed that on my Note 10.1 I can do a screen capture of the active multiview pane; however, with the GN2 it seems to capture both multiview panes then squishes the entire capture into one pane. Again, am I doing this wrong or is that a bug?
Thanks!
for perfect squares, well and now everything I have been lasso'ing a larger area and then using the photo editor app to crop them down ...for the reason that I noticed the longer I take to get a clean lasso the less chance I have of it working.
Interesting find on the screenshot deal. If I take a screen shot by hand swipe it is normal. Taking it with the pen results in squished screen.
As for the drag and drop I swear it worked out of the box...then the ljc update changed it but I could be wrong. I just know it does not work that way anymore. Similarly I recal draggingbthe lasso'd image to say messaging in the icons at bottom of screen ...now after the update I just hit messaging

I guess the point is that there are a number of things which work as they should on the Note 10.1 that don't seem to work that way on the GN2. It's not a screen real estate issue so I'm not sure what the problem is.
Just seems kind of buggy to me, especially the tracing part.
My Note 10.1 came with a specially designed version of photoshop but I'm not seeing that on my GN2. Am I missing it? I guess I just expected these to be close to the same except smaller. Maybe not.
For instance on the Note 10.1 in multiview each pane gets its own Min, Max and Close buttons but not here. Odd.

I know about those who but they aren't the same. On the Note 10.1 each frame has its own buttons which remain persistent. Like in Windows. Much better.

I find it works best to hold the button, draw your shape/circle then lift the pen with the button still held... works every time.
